Ive known Nicole the owner for years and have seen this place grow from day 1. I dont get down to this neighborhood much but when I do I have to stop in. Today my girlfriend and I stopped in as she had never been there before. The girl (pretty blonde) was very knowledgeable about her coffee! Normally I just stop at Starbucks (I know. Blasphemy right?) and I wanted a caramel macchiato. She asked if I was used to Starbucks and then casually explained that they make it in a different (traditional) style and offered something else I might like. I was definitely happy about what I was given and now have a new favorite drink! It was so good I ordered a second to take to work with me. Its a shame they only give 5 stars to rate this place. They deserve an 11. Sliante!!

Gypsy is a great coffee house in Gordon Square with fresh baked goods and light food (i.e. sandwiches). Their drinks are definitly unique, having dozens of custom lattes, if you are looking to mix things up from your usual drink of choice. One thing that they do need to improve is their internet connection. They have wifi there, but it is extremely spotty and slow, ofteh cutting out when there is little traffic/no crowd. I have gone here many times over the past few years, and it has only improved marginally during that time. It makes getting simple tasks like e-mail and web browsing slow, let alone some more strenuous activities like streaming Spotify (or other music streaming).

Hands-down my favorite coffee place in Cleveland. Its not the fanciest place youll find in this era of pour overs and 10 minute long wait to get one cup of coffee but it has heart, good lattes good space to have meetings good food and a great owner. When our daughter was sick in the hospital she sent us a goodie basket of treats and coffee to cheer us up, she really cares about her neighborhood and community and gives back as much as she can. When Im at Gypsy I feel at home, it will always have a special place in my heart and I try to support it whenever I can

I was in there awhile ago and will not be back. I ordered the mac and cheese. Of course I figured it would be great mac and cheese because I have heard good things about their food. I got it to go and when I got home and opened it up it was a solid mass of goo that was tasteless and inedible. I took one bite and it tased like I was eating nothing. No seasoning or flavor of any kind. I emailed the manager and was never contacted by them to say they were sorry or come in and try something on us. So if thats how they run their business I will not be back.

Hi Erin Whelan, I am sorry you had such a bad experience on Tuesday. There was a large neighborhood wide event going on and the organizers were expecting 1500 people. They asked us to create a special menu for that day that consisted of only premade grab & go items so their guest could get to seminars & meetings. I do apologize that your sandwich was "horrible". Please come and visit us again because we will have the things that you know and love from when you were a regular! Best, Nicole

I go here somewhat regularly with my mother who goes here at least twice a week. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere though slightly cave-like. Most of the baked goods are delicious as well as their great selection of iced teas and paninis. I have not always liked some their menu options (too dry) but if I need a decent place to grab a bite to eat and a good cup of tea (mighty leafs awesome selection available) this is were I go.

The atmosphere is pretty good. Unfortunately, Clevelands coffee scene has gotten pretty competitive and the coffee at Gypsy does not compare to Rising Star, Phoenix, The Root, Loop, etc. When the wifi works, its pretty slow. The employees are mostly all really friendly, and that makes up for a lot! I would love to see the wifi and coffee improve, since those are, like, the most important parts of a coffee shop.

They are very well run, good coffee, and very clean, good pastries. It can be quite noisy, however. The espresso machine is as loud as a Boeing 747 reving its engines, and the coffee grinder about as loud as a Peterbilt jake-braking on a sharp incline. I understand that at Civilization, they school their employees on how to minimize these types of annoyances. I hope G.B. will do the same.

No wifi was a bummer and the worker Amanda was very rude when we asked questions ab pastries.. and then the cheesecake was stale with a hair in it! Very dissapointed wish I could rate this place lower than one star because they dont even deserve that. I try to support small businesses when I can but the Amanda worker was so rude I rather just stick to Dunkin.

The Lattes around the world are amazing and so are the pastries! I was just recently visiting from Syracuse, NY and the staff were very friendly and even gave suggestions on things I must see while in Cleveland... I returned every morning to get me a latte while I was there. I highly recommend Moscow latte and World Latte

I can honestly say that Ive been there twice in one week and both times have enjoyed a nicely brewed cup of coffee and I have enjoyed their pastries. Maybe next time Ill have time to sit down for some food. Nice lay back atmosphere. I recommend you give them a try.

This is almost a community center. Many local events are planned over coffee here. It is a nice little place for all the things youd expect from a decent coffee shop, plus the authenticity of being around before the neighborhood turned into an arts district. Love this place.

Great trade free coffee in an eclectic location. Friendly Baristas. Locally owned by someone who is involved in the community. Wonderful muffins. I usually meet someone here two or three times a week. The location in Gordon Square is convenient and safe. Plus free wifi!

Great place. Good coffee and cocoa. Met a nice nun from the area. No really, we met a wonderfully nice nun. Plin closed, started up a conversation as were from AZ. Great lady. Young man behind the counter was fabulous as well. Thanks for the hometown hospitality.
