A nice place overall but if youre looking for authentic South Indian, your search doesnt end here. Food: We went for Vada Sambhar, Masala Idli, Pongal with Avial and Mysore Coffee. Vada Sambhar was great. The Vada was made very well and a perfect combination with the hot sambhar. Masala Idli was great. Quite spicy. Idli was melt in mouth. However, Pongal was disappointing. It was closer to Gujarati Khichdi in terms of taste. To be fair, none of the South Indian restaurants in the US, Ive tried so far, have been able to recreate the authentic Pongal you get in Hyderabad, Chennai or Bangalore. Avial, however, was amazing and a must try. Mysore Coffee was okay. Ambiance: Quite good. Not much South Indian touch when it came to ambiance. I would have loved to see something on that. . Service: Service was good. Vada sambhar came in a flash since sambhars are generally made in bulk and Vada dont need to be hot because the sambhar is. However, we had a good 10mins wait before we had Masala Idli and Pongal with Avial. Staff, not quite enthusiastic - probably they wanted to be at the theater watching Bahubali 2 but they were made to work instead.

Please dont go in this hotel/restaurant etc whatever it is. I went their with my family today for dinner and they served us half cooked Sambhar and when we asked them about it, the manager said that it was still cooking. I ordered 1 plate Idli and 1 Dosa and they made me pay for everything, even when I didnt touch the other food items. We had to leave in between after paying and they were not even courteous enough to pack the food for take away. They were very unwelcoming and their hospitality was pathetic. I felt embarrassed in front of my family. The owner almost ran to the kitchen when we said that food was not cooked. He didnt came back until we left. The places like this are the reason why Indians are called by the names as Chindi/desis etc. Save your money, time and dignity. Dont go in this place.

I am VERY dissappointed. The food today was not tasty. We ordered one pani puri (water did not look or taste right), 3 dosa which were not very appetizing or even presented well. Today is also Wednesday and dosa are supposed to be $5 after 5p. We went 710p and left 805p and they said now $5 dosa only until 730p.. we spoke hindi to explain they cheated us and they pretended they only knew english and made excuses. They did not even have a proper sign up. Such an arrogant staff. I am not planning on going to this place again. They have lost my service. I will NOT reccommend this place anymore to anyone. Never even busy and they dont even have music playing and it is so awkward.

they started just a year back. They have main store in columbus and frankly speaking this cincinnati cafe failed to live upto the expectation and quality set by columbus cafe. Quality is average. food is little more oily and the oil they use smells as if they are reusing it. variety - lots of south indian items. Must try the Royal Lunch/Dinner here. Definitely good for once in a while visit.

First of all food is not that tasty. I went for lunch and dinner and didnt like the food. Next, the waiter allocated a corner 4 table and the manager yelled at him saying he should have not made me sit there as it is a family table. And they said i dont have any tables to sit even though half the shop was empty. I left the place without getting anything. Please avoid!!

I have been to the restaurant a few times, the food tastes average although it is one of the most authentic south indian restaurants you find in Cincinnati. The sambar and chutney which is key to good food has always been a hit or a miss in this restaurant. The lunch and dinner thalis are totally worth the money. Adai and avial is the best item on the menu.

Its vegetarian restaurant, South Indian specialty. Not many options in menu. I tried South Indian Thali, the quality and quantity of food they serve for what they charge is too high. There are 3 good Indian restaurants within a mile which serve great food both veg and non-vegetarian and serve buffet, wonder how this resturant is still in business.

Very unique lunch menu compared to most Indian restaurants in the area. Not the best, but very far from the worst Ive experienced. They have lunch specials which are like a large dish with several small containers of food. All vegetarian, but you can try so many different items in just one meal. The sambar is always good, service is always quick.

Most of there dishes are frozen food and they admit it!! Ordered pav bhaji and guess what the bhaji went stale. Ordered it second time and this time too it was stale. Pretty clear they only serve frozen food. Will never visit again. I am from south canara and it is just a pity to see someone screw up the cuisine.

I am afraid, to give a single star, I would have given negative stars...the worst dosa Ever I had in my life, ordered a special dosa they just gave me a raw cabbage and raw tomato wrapped in dosa, and forget to give sambar, do you ever imagine dosa without sambar... I strongly dont recommend this place

If you really want to try tasty South Indian food like crispy dosa, spicy and thick Sambar with the tasteful different chutneys then PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. If a first timer tries South Indian food here, then I bet he or shell never touch South Indian cuisine in his/her entire life...

Love the food. Best South Indian food in this area! But their service has to improve. I sometimes think about carrying my own water. The servers come to your table twice... Once to take your order and to bring the food. If you want water due to the spice in the food, go get it yourself!!

You will find the best South Indian and Udipi Indian food in the Cincinnati are here. It is reasonably priced considering a lot of their clientele are university students from the neighboring areas (including University of Cincinnati) and the sambar and rasam are excellent.

A good South based restaurant. Good Onion Masala Dosa and Bisibelabath. Rasam is terrible sometimes. Inconsistent and needs improvement. Otherwise a good restaurant.

Food is usually ok. Their service was extremely rude. Could teach a bit hospitality. Good Food and good experience goes a long way when it comes to restaurants.
