My boyfriend and I went here last night and had a pretty unpleasant experience. The server, who later identified himself as the owner (Anthony), was upset that we had a groupon, he explained that it was only valid if I had purchased it the day before (I purchased it a few hours before coming to the restaurant). I was confused because usually that is not a rule instilled by Groupon, but I did not argue and said okay and continued with our order. He then decided to accept the groupon only when learning that we were locals. During this time, he continued to complain about the amount of coupons that people use at his restaurant, thus creating an unpleasant atmosphere as we were there using a coupon. Another couple was having a similar issue and confronted him on his unprofessionalism. He continued to engage in a very upsetting conversation with the couple that created an absolutely miserable environment. We went to the restaurant because of the positive reviews, so Im disappointed to know that our experience was not the same. I was told that Anthony is a co-owner and the other owner is more pleasant. I hope that is true, because I fear that if management acts that way to their guests then they may not be in business for too long with all the competition that is in Wilmington. It is even more upsetting because I, and my boyfriend, work in downtown Wilmington and have a network of people that we would have loved to experience Grace on 2nd because we love to support local owners and share a good food spot when we find one. Hopefully we will be back because the food was good, but hopefully we will have a different server. Long story short, the food is very good, however they hold a very strong judgment to those who use coupons.

I would love to give a great review but was very upset when I spent an hour driving just to have lunch here because of some of the great reviews I read and the restaurant was closed. I even walked around a bit thinking there was some delay in opening and came back to still a closed restaurant. That is when someone from a neighboring restaurant came out to see if he could help me and apologized for the restaurant being closed (even though he did not work there). This was a waste of my day and gas so I would suggest that you update your website and inform that you are NOT open for lunch. For future customers....I do not know if I will be back because I have no idea when you will be open.

2 stars for the food and price of it, third star is for the decent service. Little understaffed but they did a great job keeping up best they could. Very hot inside, A/C not keeping up with the heat, for the prices you expect not to have box fans set up all over the place to keep you cool. "Famous crabcake" was a little burnt. Even of it was cooked properly, still not super impressed. Recipe was way too full of mayo and used super over-pureed crab. Burger was big and presented well but was too greasy. Bacon was floppy and fatty. Maybe dinner is the way to go here, but the lunch fare was not impressive and the building was not a good place to escape the heat.

My husband and I came here in October 2016 and enjoyed the food, but even more so, it was delightful chatting with the owner. Now its April 2017, and we are back. We ordered the bang bang shrimp, as well as, the combo platter with grilled shrimp and oysters, with the cole slaw substituted with asparagus. The asparagus was covered in this wonderful garlic based sauce. I loved the seasoning on the shrimp and oysters, and my husband, who doesnt normally go for spicy food, are the hell out of the bang bang shrimp. We found ourselves cleaning to plates, trying to lap up all the sauces. Just fantastic, in my opinion. The atmosphere is lovely too.

Got really sick after eating here due to the nasty oil that is used to fry everything...hubbys fries tasted the same as my shrimp (left an awful bitter aftertaste). I got the slaw and while it wasnt the worst Ive had, its grey appearance was certainly off putting. No ketchup on the table, just mustard which is weird and by the time it got brought out after asking for it, he was almost finished. (note this place had about 2 other guests at the time) Liked the music selection but the base was overwhelming. With all the choices in downtown this is one we wont be going back to.

We had a very disappointing experience. First, the tea machine was down, which should have been a sign of what was to come. We waited for almost an hour after placing our order before our food was served. The food was okay, which is why I gave it one star. When we went in, there was no one else eating downstairs. Four other people came in, and two of them received their food long before we did. One of them ordered, was served, had eaten, and left before we received ours. We all had the same server. Our advice would be to avoid this place. We will never go there again.

Ive only had the burgers and the fish and fries. The burgers are delicious and have a fantastic seasoning in the patty. The fish fillets were so fresh off the boat that I thought it swam to my plate. Never had fish so juicy and tasty! The fries are a crinkle-cut type with some kind of seasoning on them and they are very good also. The staff has been super friendly and made sure everything was perfect with our meals each time weve been there. Havent had a bad experience at Grace on 2nd yet. Its our go to restaurant in Wilmington now!

Excellent food. I usually dont write reviews but felt obliged to as this place has had many names and owners, and i like it this time. Cannot believe I havent been here until now as I would consider myself a foodie and this place folks a void for excellent seafood at reasonable prices downtown. Had the shrimp and grits. The sauce was home made and slightly spicy and very well rounded. Much thought went into the dish. Guest had crab cakes. No complaints. Well be back.

I have eaten here twice now, both times were excellent. The service was friendly, and the food was great. They had an awesome lunch special so the price was good for all the food you get. At dinner the prices seem pretty standard for dinner downtown. Both times I was here the restaurant was pretty dead. The head chef, (who might be the owner) came out and spoke to all the tables when I was there for dinner. I hope they make it.

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Food was great! The owner was happy to share information as to where his oysters and fish come from I could tell he was a person who took pride in what the restaurant served and it showed!! Great new find in Wilmington downtown. walkable from Hilton Riverside Hampton Inn downtown and Marriott downtown I highly recccomend. it!

The best shrimp and grits in town! My wife had the Ahi, and it was great too. The Bang Bang shrimp couldve used a little more sauce, but they were perfectly cooked. Everything was served hot, and the waitress was friendly! Its not the cheapest meal around, but for the quality is as good - if not better - than similarly priced restaurants.
