I think the food is great BUT if its getting late, dont order from this store there food is a 9 when there slow or BUT when its busy or there getting ready too closing time the food and the people that work there are a 3 or 4 out of a 10,, very rude they over or under cook everything and when you tell them you have a problem theyre very nasty and wont fix the problem, I ordered chicken wings, and i throwing up for 3 days, i know it was the chicken wings my whole family ate and Im the only one that ate the chicken wings and I know it was undercooked after eating 2 of them, they tasted great. I told, I think the owner about my situation and he got very mad with me very rude and said no no no he insisted on me ordering it again so I did, thinking it was going to be for free... I looked at my receipt and charges me and they were burnt,, I couldnt even eat them thats how burnt they were. So horrible customer service nasty owner, food could be good if theyre not busy or if its not near closing time. The delivery drivers, always check your change with the delivery drivers, I ask the driver the last time I got a delivery if thats a $5.00 tip he said yes and I know it was $15.00 just to test him because they did it to me nephew, when i told him he got all funny. So I gave him no tip and he said no no thats no tip $5.00 more for a $5.00 tip $5.00 more $5.00 more. Order at your own risk and dont send the kids to the door with the money. Today is the last time I order from this store again.

Golden star is a small Chinese restaurant located next to the Grasmere train station in Grasmere, Staten Island. They offer authentic Chinese food along with regular food such as fried chicken and fries. They tastes great but I feel they may be using lower quality ingredients to make their dishes. Dont get me wrong though, they taste great. I dont reccomend eating in due to their enviorment. They have boxes on the tables which makes me feel unwanted to eat in. It is way more convenient to order over the phone to pick it up or deliver. The wait is moderate since the prepare the food very fast. They received only 3 stars due to the quality and the enviorment. In conclusion, if your in a rush and in the area, I recommend getting a quick bite here!

They are alright. Food isnt the problem. The people working there are the problem. I ordered a pick up, and when I got there 15mins later they never even documented my order. It was never started. Ontop of that the cashier was very disrespectful for no reason. I asked him the price as I paid him and he counted my change back to me cutting himself off and sarcastically saying: "$9.00 yay hooray goodbye" I was like excuse me? What was that?? He said oh sowwy sowwy nothing. LOL I thought so dweeb.

Rudee people that work there!! I placed an order over the phone , went to go pick it up they gave me the wrong order I told her I didnt order this she got so mad tried to force me to take it, The other lady changed it to what I really wanted but the lady that was rudee!! She kept giving me dirty looks even while she was walking away should kept looking back and given me to these nasty looks until I said something and the other lady said something to her that made her not look at me anymore.

Cannot follow basic instruction. Forgot to put sauce on my food even though i was charged extra for it. Tried to charge me again when they delivered a side of sauce 40 minutes after my food got delivered (Which only took 20 minutes to come). Spoons, forks, duck sauce, and soy sauce never included even when specifically asked. Hung up on when they could Not figure out the situation. Not a reliable source of business! Lastly theres a hair in my plate.

Absolutely will not return. When we returned to work some of what we ordered was missing, they didnt give us an itimized receipt and tried charging us twice for the missing items. We ordered almost $40 worth of food and there was a coupon and they ignored us when we asked. They were rude when we called to claim the missing items. And even though we had to drive back she still charged us. Rude, rip off.

Ive heard that the restaurant was under new management. The old boss was a good friend of mine, and he has retired since 2013. Golden Star used to be perfect (And if you see the old reviews, they were all 4 or 5 stars). He gave the new workers a head start, with great qualities, but they couldnt even keep it up. Shame, shame

I bought small tso chicken , 4 chicken wings and two beef sticks for 18 dollars they is a rip off!!! And had to ask for the free small wonton soup for orders over 15 dollars which they didnt offer, luckly I saw it on the menu before I left. They was good years ago they fell off and they keep the place cold. Never go back.

After messing up 3 of 6 items I ordered, the guy told me that they can fix 2 items, but not 3 ,because they do not believe me, 6 bucks later plus tip again, the worst part is ,they wanted the food back ,after I told them I touched it . Now I know the reason they blocked the kitchen ,so you cant see inside.

Food overpriced and out of the many chinese restaurants ive eaten at, this is the worst. ON TOP OF THAT the 2/2 times ive eaten here, there was hair in my food. Ive contacted public health hopin this place gets shut down. Complete garbage restaurant.

worst chinese food on the island. meat came very dry, rice was way undercooked and when I complained I was told I was wrong because "I not asia" is what man on phone told me. chicken looked either overcooked or definitely NOT chicken meat.

Great food. Good service. They create dishes for you like were back in Brooklyn! Reasonably priced esp. for how outstanding they are... Certainly living up to their name. And they finally have the A grade that they deserve...

We use to love golden star. It is under new ownership are we only been there once since. It is different.I got dizzy after i ate. We will miss the previous owner. Thank you for the delicious food!

Food is excellent here, very fast delivery, but the only cons is credit cards. Unfortunately they dont accept credit cards, and sometime I dont have cash on me which prevent me to order from them.
