If I had to give this place 0 stars I would do just that! First let me start by saying these reviews have to all be co workers , workers and relatives of the people in the restaurant or people that never had mexican food in their life! Because there is no way that this place is top notch Mexican food what so ever! I had amazing Mexican food and this place doesnt equate. The owner needs to stop false advertising as if this place is a full restaurant and say what it truly is and that is a tapas restaurant. The food portions are absolutely disappointing for the price. I went with my entire family for a graduation celebration and the hostess was rude as my sisters and I were standing in front of them waiting to be seated. So there was no customer service etiquette whats ever!!! After being seated we asked for recommendations on drinks the waiter mentioned a melon filled with and alcoholic beverage served for 2 people that was 20 dollars. Figured since it was 2 people and recommended for two, its worth it. When we recieved it, the drink can be easily consumed by 1 person. I mean BBQs gives you a bigger cup for half the price!!. Appetizers were mediocre nothing special. The so called dinner menu!, we ordered tacos that were so small that i though it was a joke! My dad had a steak with rice that you can actually count the grains of rice!. Long story short. FOOD IS OVER PRICED! NOTHING YOU CANT GET AT YOUR LOCAL TAQUERIA. In conclusion, we ended up paying 400 dollars for a bill which we were all still hungry and ended up speaking to the manager about our awful experience and how his prices are out standing in relation to how much is given. He did nothing but nodded and said have a nice day, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ON GROUP GATHERINGS! YOU WILL SPEND ALOT OF MONEY AND TRUST ME YOU WILL WANT TO MAKE THAT PIT STOP TO BURGER KING!!

The space is great looking, I love the little changes they have made since the former restaurant closed down. The service was fine, no complaints. The food was just okay, with some members of my party being happy with their food and some members being not so happy. We ordered guacamole for the table and it was odd because the menu said "tableside" and it wasnt made tableside for us, but another table had theirs made tableside. No big deal, it just might throw other people off. The guacamole was fine, I felt that I needed a little something to make it great. I asked for a red sangria and the waiter repeated it back to me, but brought me a white sangria. Again not a big deal, but little things like this can put people off. The ceviche was fine, but tiny for the price. I had the carnitas burrito and it was good. My boyfriend ordered grasshopper tacos and he loved them. My mother ordered a taco and said it was very greasy and the meat inside was fatty. My sister ordered fish tacos and she found them lacking in flavor. I found this meal to be just okay, a little pricey for the area and the quality of the food. Im not sure if I would come back here again.

I came here with a big group and we give then the heads up, that we were coming a few days ago. We had the 1.5 hours of unlimited happy hour drinks for $19.95 deal. The service was very slow (it was expected with a table of 25 people, even though they had heads up we were going), when someone order a drink it took a very long time and the server was not taking a other drink order unless you were finished with the previous one. I went with the Carne Asada Con Huevo (Steak Medium and egg over easy), my food took a very long time too come out (I was the last one to get my food) and when my food arrived the orders was mess up. Although the staff and the manager was very gentile to apologize for what happened, my experience was very bad in this place. At the end, I ended giving my food away to one of my friend.

Nestled in the corner of a former Kaufman Astoria Studio building, this spacious cantina serves upscale Mexican. The modestly sized breakfast burritos were good, but to my taste suffered from too much guac and too little egg. The hash browns are crispy fried shoe-string potatoes, also good but difficult to eat with fork or finger. The side of Brussels sprouts were perhaps the best part of the meal, blackened with greens and onions. But overall, from the salsa to the sides, I felt like the recipes relied a little too much on oil and vinegar for flavouring, and with the obvious care with which the meals are made, Id prefer to let the ingredients shine on their own merits. Very good service, but the cavernous space echoes the ambient noise.

Cricket tacos ! Finally, the tacos de chapulín were available. So delicious. 3 little tacos filled with crunchy-tender little crickets that surprisingly gave a mild aroma of soy sauce. If you didnt know (or see) that they were crickets, youd simply think that it was something delicious. Other times, the ceviche—there are various options for the fish—is also wholly worthwhile, fresh and often spicy. Portions are filling without being gorging, which is appreciated, as is the fact that the music is kept low enough to converse. Service can be... relaxed. It would be good to see some Mexican craft beers here, as the only ones available are mass-produced corporate lagers (and 1 local brew).

I am still sitting here, Ive been waiting for the place to open and this was probably the worst fish Baja taco Ive had in my life. I am Mexican , born and raised in Guadalajara and thankfully Ive been blessed to have traveled and experience really good food. We came to try and to see if we could make this out place to go, but unfortunately we are very disappointed, because again as always a high class Mexican restaurant couldnt keep their traditions and they changed accordingly at what they believe is an American-Mexican nice fusion. An applause for the decoration, but that tortilla soup tastes like Campbells tomatoe soup with tortilla chips. Just not what I expected!

As a native Texan its very hard to find quality mexican food in NYC! There basically are 1 or 2 places in the city that measure up. This place has really great mexican food! Wonderful tastes! Great ambience (although can get loud). My mIn problem are the prices. Ive been a few times and every time I laugh at the ridiculously small portions. The three taco dish took me 2 minutes to eat, maybe less. The drinks are all $2 too expensive. Id never consider getting a 2nd margarita at the prices listed. I understand quality comes at a price, however there is so much potential in selling another item or two to me if the prices werent so high.
