Ordered two drinks that both tasted horrible. Got to my table and our waiter asked us for our order before even giving us water. Ordered the fresh guacamole, which was supposed to be made in front of us at our table but was delivered warm and sloppy by someone in a soiled apron without so much as a acknowledgement before he dropped and ran. The guacamole tasted ok, but the presentation was extremely sloppy with big glops of guacamole on the side of the bowl and up and down the serving spoon. My friend and I both ordered the fish tacos. Were still looking for the fish! The tacos were very flimsy, very spicy and fell apart the minute you picked them up. Our waiter never came back to ask us how our meal was nor did he fill up our water glasses or make any recommendations for dessert. Needless to say, will not be returning.

Well, first of all they serve tortillas with their salsa as a starter versus chips. I was craving some good old fashioned chips. This was the beginning of my disappointment. Service=horribly slow. I mean horribly slow. I had to get out of my SEAT horribly slow to go find a waiter. And it was like a Monday night at 9pm when it was hardly busy. It was just ridiculous. Truly ridiculous. Food=overpriced and not tasty at all. My dining companions and aka fellow transplanted California friends were like, why do you want to get Mexican on the East Coast? I should have known better, although Toloache and Two Lizards have been nice surprises in NYC. This completely fulfilled the sterotype of horrible, unflavorful Mexican. Chipotles barbacoa tastes better

Love this place - I believe its owned by the Chevys folks, BUT dont let that make your decision. This is upscale mexican food with a great atmosphere. The dining room is really nice, lot of booths you can sink into. The food quality is fantastic. Homemade tortillas brought to your table at no charge with honey butter and 3 types of salsa. Steak in your meals comes cooked to order and always correct. Staff is nice... prices are ok. Nice warm feeling inside... tend to come here less in summer and more during winter, though the food is great anytime.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in NYC. Ive introduced several family/friends who all rave about the food as well. The guacamole and sweet butter are reason enough to try this place. Id recommend the Santa Fe enchilada stack. The margaritas are strong but flavorful, which Id recommend the strawberry if you enjoy sweet drinks. For dessert, the chocolate cake was perfect with a side of ice cream. The service is somewhat mediocre, which is perfectly fine for a relaxing dinner/date-night.

Food was pretty good. Decent portion size. Steak nachos could be a meal in itself. Dessert of berries and Chambord was fantastic. Other than that laughably over priced fajitas...$30? For four wraps? $15 drinks were awful. Too spicy too sweet or tasted like cough syrup. We averaged $75 per person for food + shot +mixed drink and dessert. I would suggest for atmosphere and some food but not for drinks. Num pang is down the street - no atmosphere but fraction of price for more taste.

We decided to try this place our for breakfast. The coffee was diluted like water and when we asked, the waiter said the machine was broken and not working properly! Thanks for serving us watered down coffee. At least to compensate, he served us cappuccino. When we were there, the restaurant was empty (maybe one other table of two) but our food took about half hour to come. The food tasted ok, small portion and nothing to rave about. Id go somewhere else for a sit down breakfast.

Very disappointing lunch. Returned recently after two excellent meals here back in 2010, and the place seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Menu is more limited and less interesting. Three separate staff tried to get us to start with the $14 tableside guacamole. They brought my BBQ chicken wrap without chicken, cheese, and other rather key ingredients. When I asked for some chicken, they brought a plate of tasteless chicken strips so dried out they were nearly jerky.

Food was ok. Service was not good. The waiter offer menu "substitutions" but just end up charging for the sides that were "substituted". The waiter was in a definite rush to get out because he said that they had run out of coffee (while we watched other tables get served) He brought the check to the table and then actually waited around for the payment, until we had to say "please give us a minute". With all the other great restaurants in NYC, I would go elsewhere.

This is your standard Midtown Mexican fare — sophisticated but not authentic. Who cares? Its still tasty. If youre just grabbing a drink in the bar area, waiters bring around baskets of chips and two delicious salsas (the chocolate-brown one is the best). While the grill sizzles in back, start with one of its signature margaritas and guacamole, made right at your table. It seems like a large space for corporate events, but its actually warm and welcoming.

One of my favorite restaurants. Great ambiance and mood when you walk in and always greeted warmly. Great lunch menu and is a pleasant treat, always appetizing dinner special, so its hard to choose on entree. My waiter LAZARO gave me an excellent service and the best I would say the food was very good and the drinks the best, I choose ribs chipotle, tres mariachis and for to drink grill pineapple margarita

Overpriced food and mediocre service. I had the deep fried ice cream-and I liked it-but that might just be because it was ice cream and deep fried, no innovative touch or interesting flavors. The waiter took forever to get our bill, we eventually had to get out of our seats and look for the waiter to get it. Not sure this place is worth the prices it charges.

Food was delicious! I had the Santa Fe Enchiladas and my wife had the Carne Asada with Chimichurri and both were excellent. Plates are in the $15-30 range, but the restaurant is pretty nice and the food is more "elegant" than just Tex-mex. Our server had a great attitude and kept our drinks filled. We would definitely come back for a special night out.

Solid place for a sit down lunch or after work drinks if you work in the area. Its definitely not a place you would seek out if you werent already around 42nd street/grand central. That said its a great option if you are around there. The food is good and of you stick with the margaritas or simple drinks (e.g. tequila soda) you will enjoy yourself.

The food was great and the service was good at the beginning, but then we waited over 20 minutes after we finished eating for the server to clear our plates and bring the check (even though they werent very busy) - Not sure what happened there. Great atmosphere though, and we will definitely be coming back! Definitely try the steak nachos!

Amazing place for great Mexican food. The ratio between quality and price is pretty good but the plates are a tad small. The location is decorated beautifully but it need a little bit more "Mexico" in my opinion. Staff was really friendly and hopeful, dont be afraid to let them know if you have an allergy, etc. Will definitely come back.
