Latest visit:There were worms in my food. Im done trying this place. Not coming back again. Food and drink is great. Also is the artwork. I prefer to go for lunchtime. Ive been hassled by fellow customers before (in front of bartender and waiters) with no one really caring as long as i kept paying...which has made the space uncomfortable for me. I refuse to go after 4pm now. That being said, i go with company and have gone back for lunch time (more attentive workers). Edit:I wanted to bump the place to a four out of five after my past experiences, however, my added review is because I was discriminated. This spot has been consistent with the quality of their food. I really enjoy bringing people along . I also find the service to be mostly consistent as well. The reason why it is not five stars, even as a regular, is because this past Sunday between 3pm and 5pm, on the second floor, a server named Victor targeted me when I went with a couple of other people. Generally, the place has been pretty great except for after work hours on the weekdays-due to harassment by drunk patrons as mentioned in my earlier review. I had to complain to the manager about this specific server. He had specifically singled me out for my looks, spoke to me as if I was making trouble or was a troublesome child, and he ignored the clients I came along with. He even slammed the water we had asked for (40 minutes late) onto the table. He was passive aggressive and unusually aggravated, and he had no issue with any one else in the room or at my table that day. It made me very uncomfortable, made those who I came with very uncomfortable, and I was confused and upset by the hostility expressed explicitly towards me. A young, white man kept coming towards our space and near to the kitchen, because his very young child kept stumbling around. He was not singled out. I was. I could not even address this problematic behavior towards the server, Victor. Thats how hostile he was. That behavior of targeting individuals is not okay, not professional, and should not be tolerated. I really hope that my complaint made was passed onto this particular server and his discrimination taken seriously. I want to come back, but if the hostility will not be addressed this place will be losing about five regulars- at the very least. Please correct this before more clients are affected.

Great local Irish pub, feels much more homey than most Irish pubs in New York. Fairly small main room with bar, seats maybe 30, then a separate room and upstairs which is mainly for dining (I havent sat there but doesnt seem as nice). Service is usually pretty good, although this partly depends on who is working (can be slow for table service). Main problem they have is beer - in the 6 or so times weve been, weve experienced the wrong beer on a line (my wife knows when a Peroni isnt a Peroni - she used to sell the stuff!), and a time when all draft beer was off because of a problem with the lines. Good Happy Hour with $3 drafts 4-7 Mon-Fri, and a different beer every weeknight for $4 all night. Overall, visit for the atmosphere and decor, food is typical for Irish pub, nothing wrong with it but nothing special... If youre looking for somewhere to really appreciate a good pint, this probably isnt the place to go!

A gem. My favorite bar in Washington Heights! I will be bringing all my friends here whenever the come. Le Cheile, I feel, is really three different establishments. They have the bar sectioned off from the first level dining area. A little divey in the bar area - but just that right amount. They also have a good-sized upstairs that theyve turned into a gallery of art drawn by their guests. Oh! Have you heard? They have crayons and paper covering your table. You can draw with your kids. You can write haikus with your date. You can play tic-tac-toe by yourself, if you want. Ive been there on Mondays for their 25-cent wings (bar only). With a beer (please try their house draft!), my meal came out to less than $10. The Fish&Chips are perfectly flaky. Great vibe. Great people. By the way, you cant beat the view of the GW bridge just outside the door. Come! Bring your friends! Cheers!

This place has a mix of upscale ambiance on the 2nd level and bar style seating and revelry on the main floor. The menu us filled with an eclectic mix of dishes including an Indian chicken curry and a famously massive grilled cheese. The salads are also a great value and chocked full of fun flavors and interesting ingredients. I recently joked...this is where the white people in Washington Hts go for dinner. It literally seems out of place in a predominantly Dominican neighborhood but the change of pace is welcomed and appreciated by the constant droves of rabid customers who continue to flock here week in and week out. I wish they had delivery but for now Im content walking across the street for what has proven to be the best grilled cheese Ive found in NYC! (sorry Gorilla Cheese youre a close 2nd)

Im not sure why it took me awhile to visit here, but Im glad I finally did. My brother came up from Queens and I told him and my husband we should check this place out. We visited this past Monday afternoon, and there were only a few people sitting on the bar side. I wish I asked the names of the ladies that were working, as they were super awesome and friendly. My husband and I ordered burgers, and my brother got the steak grilled cheese (I HAD to take a bite, soo good!) I like that there are some seats at the bar and tables on that side, as well as another side of the bar, and an upstairs, too. If youre in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this place. Think ill check out happy hour one of these days. :)

Highly recommend the jazz nights! Today i found this restaurant on the spot, just passing by, looking for a nice place for an evening drink. I heard the music, live music! Was very intrigued and decided to check the place. Every Wednesday they have jazz nights, as fa as i could understand, the next week they have the anniversary of 2years of this initiative. No cover fee, the music and singing going from the heart, cozy space. I was not hungry, so i did not order the food, but i did have the red house wine -cabernet sauvignon, was not expecting such a good taste! Ordered twice.. The service is prompt and friendly, the ambience is great!

I want to like this place because the ambiance is very nice and the menu is great. Had two bad experiences, however. The first was pretty spotty bar service. Then on St. Pattys day, we ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage, which we thought was a little pricey at $16 (considering were in Wash Heights). When the meal arrived we were shocked at how small the portion was. My boyfriend and I literally finished our separate meals within two minutes. The waiter brought out a little extra cabbage to appease us, but we both left hungry after a $40 meal.

After having gone twice, they now know exactly what I want and how I want it. If you do go there, you absolutely must try their chicken parm; I am yet to find another as good at anywhere near that price. Some of the tables are a little wobbly which means that cutting your food will spill some drinks, but that can be circumvented if you simply select a table that is attached to a wall. Overall great service, great atmosphere, and great chicken parm (I havent tried anything else since I am more than satisfied with that).
