We have been patronizing this restaurant for many years. I notice over the years their quality has declined steadily. Today we ordered take out. 3 dishes all of which were almost inedible. Bland, tastless and undercooked. I called to let them know of the experience. The folks were more concerned about the refund which I never asked. This is the last visit to Orchid as far as we are concerned.

Excellent Chinese restaurant! When my wife and I go out for Chinese food there is only one place we go - Orchid. The food is great and reasonably priced. The waiters are always warm and friendly and I personally love the decor. Who cares if its in a basement? Orchid serves some of the best Chinese food I have ever had and I eat a lot of Chinese food! (Wife was born in China).

I was there for the 2nd time in 10 years for a family affair, and I wasnt to impressed. The food either was very slow making its way to the table, or some of it had a weird, unnatural taste to it. The only good of the whole situation was that a select few members of the wait staff, really performed well when it came down to serving us. I probably wont be back any time soon.

hands down the best chinese food on long island!!! there is no comparing the food served at this place... and once you get past the fact that you are in basement, the decor isnt that bad either... only drawback are the high prices... but as with everything in life, you get what you pay for.

Went with family for dinner, bad choice..bad food, duck was previously frozen and cold. Dumplings horrible. The only good thing was service. And it was expensive for the quility of the food. I wouldnt not be coming back, and i dont recommend this restaurant

I have been here many times over the years. I refuse to eat here any more. The last several times I saw cockroaches on the wall by the entrance. This is disgusting. The Health Dept should shut this dump down

This is an awesome place & being chinese, I dont critique lightly. I thoroughly enjoy the food & ambiance. My kids always ask to go there to eat. The peking duck is delicious!
