DANGEROUSLY INDIFFERENT. I first tried their dim sum a couple of months ago, and was grateful for the change in environment, and also that it was comparable to the nearby East Harbor Seafood Restaurant I usually frequent. I heard that Park Asia has been through some renovation: the two floor restaurant is airy because of the amazingly high ceilings, and brightly lit from the multiple windows. It has comfortable seating, and the tables are pretty spaced out. The ground floor is superior since the second floor is darker and less appealing. Also, if it is winter, you will feel a draft coming through the large windows. I had my annual Chinese New Year dinner with relatives at here. We gathered 15 people for a feast at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. When I arrived, a few relatives had already been waiting for a while. Since we had reservations, I was fine with waiting out the next half hour until our table was ready. However, our table was not ready until half past 8. This made the early birds irate, and we were all feeling a steep drop in our blood sugar levels. We ordered many dishes that included soup, shrimp with broccoli and walnuts, beef stir-fried with lotus root and other vegetables, fish fillets, fried rice, etc. It was more than enough to sample their dinner service. And MY GOODNESS.. two big issues arose while we were eating. The first was the strong chemical detergent taste in our soup. If I had run my bowl of soup under water, it would have started foaming. Thats how disgusting it was. I alerted the waiter, who happened to be familiar with my uncles, and told him. He then told us how well they rinse their dishes. Meanwhile, Im offering that he or a chef try the soup and be their own judge. He ignored me. When our steak arrived, some of the inner cuts of meat were completely RAW. I dont mean that it was simply a little bloody- it was BLUE. It was a frightening discovery made by my cousin after she had already taken a bite. Once again, we called the waiter over, and he had the audacity to say that raw beef was fine and edible. Chinese cuisine is NOT known for serving raw items. The fact that he would disregard the possibility of bacterial infections from the meats made me especially angry. Of course, making a fuss in a Chinese restaurant will get you no where REAL fast. They will most likely not remake a dish, not take it off the bill, and not acknowledge their faults. The only thing that will get their attention would be a call to the The New York City Department of Health.

Like Ive said on all my dim sum reviews - each place has its own items that are true standouts, and this place is no different. What IS different here is the ambiance. Recently renovated, this stylish, modern up-to-date space is much different than many of its counterparts. Its cozy, inviting and much nicer than most spaces, AND they serve some pretty tasty dim sum too. I particularly like the siu mai here - deliciously juicy and plump with a good bite to them with a nice size shrimp on the top of it all (and did I detect a hint of sesame oil? Nice touch). The shrimp noodle (har cheung) had very large shrimp that were just the right texture - with a good pop when you bite into them, not soft and pasty like some. The steamed pork spareribs (pai gwut) were amazing - the sauce was super flavorful and packs a really good punch but is not salty at all). I enjoyed 2 other interesting dishes that I had not had before - one was a steamed dish of multiple layers (like a hundred) of tofu skin in a very light sauce with cilantro on top, and the other was a version of Dja Leung (Chinese crueller noodle rolls) but these were filled with a fish paste similar to the steamed fish balls you typically see on dim sum carts. Both of these dishes were different and tasty - unexpected item that I would order again. All in all every time I go is generally a good experience and I will keep trying new things here since I havent had many mediocre items yet.

Been coming here for years and its a fantastic place. The typical dim sum dishes (such as chicken feet, pork bone, shrimp dumpling, etc.) are very flavorful compared to nearby restaurants. The vibe is great with typical noisy Chinese chatter and bright, airy main eating area. Its easy to spend a couple of hours with friends/family just sipping tea because the tall windows/ceiling facilitates a comfortable atmosphere. The staff is also great and friendly and tend to recognize you after repeated visits. I lost my wallet the other day and they helped keep it safe for me until I returned. Their staff are top notch!

Best place in Brooklyn for Dim Sum. Im a regular at this place, I bring my whole family almost weekly here. Good price, good portion, and best of all they use less msg then other places. Dont joke yourself when places say no msg. Moderate amount of msg is fine. You can tell if a place uses tons of msg, when you have a sweet aftertaste or leave the place very thirsty. One of my daughter has a mild case of reaction to msg on the skin, but this place is fine for her. So I guess you can say my daughter is my msg detector, rub some food on her face and if its red too much msg. lol

I went on Chinese New Year and it was very crowded. Despite that we got a seat right away! Its the Hong Kong style dim sum where they come around with the carts and I have to say I didnt feel the variety of options. Also the things that we did order, pretty consistently were undercooked. It was pretty disappointing. That being said If it was all cooked it would have been good. Its a simple fix. It was also cheap so thats a plus but I probably wont be coming back for a while

This is a place for Chinese ppl who wants traditional Chinese food, instead of those Americanized Chinese food at take-outs. Reasonable price and delicious food, not too oily or saulty. The waiters are friendly, and they serve 3 different desserts for free! I recommand this restaurant to my friends and they all come back satisfied. You may need to call to reserve table during holidays or weekends.

How do I start? The decor in this place is absolutely breath taking. We were taken care of as soon as we walked in. They have a huge selection of appetizers and entrées as well. The food her is well cooked and not drowned in oil. I recommend this place for formal gatherings, birthdays , celebrations and dates. Ill definitely come back.

The food is amazing. The staff is really polite and go out of their way to help you, or if there is a communication issue, are quick to find someone who can help you. Their Har Gow is probably the best Ive had in the city. The texture on dumpling skin is incredible. Also try their Abalone Shu Mai. Very good, too.
