The classic Hunan Delight is back! This restaurant has always been my familys "go to" Chinese food restaurant for the past 15 years. We would always order out on weekends and go for an occasional luncheon. Throughout this establishments years it has undergone changes in ownership and with that comes ups and downs. But i believe that it is on the up again! I have been here two times in the past week or so. The Restaurant is a small dining room with about 10 tables for 4. It was renovated a few years ago with new tile and paint. There is also a large unused sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. There are a few pictures hanging on the walls as well. The restaurant appearance-wise does not have any "wow" factor that makes it feel modern. The dining room could use a few more pictures or paintings on the wall to break of the stark whiteness. I also think they have had the same tables and chairs for at least the last 15 years. There are not many Chinese restaurants in the Garden City South and West Hempstead are where you can sit down as a family and enjoy a reasonable priced dinner together. They have an extensive ala carte menu (served with rice) or a $12.95 sit down dinner special. It comes with Soup, Appetizer, White or Fried Rice, and Entree. My soups on recent dining experiences (Wonton and Hot & Sour) were both very good. The wontons are light and tasty, and the Hot & Sour soup was very delicious and cleared up my sinuses. Their egg rolls were amazing and perfect. The fried rice was good as well, however it could have been served a bit hotter. The first time I visited I got the General Tsos chicken, which was the best general tsos chicken I have had in a long time. It is you classic americanized dish! Most recently i ordered Chicken with peanuts. It was very flavorful with a sweet and spicy sauce, chopped carrots and broccoli stalk. (WATCH OUT IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY, IT IS NOT A PEANUT FREE KITCHEN) The service is one the things that they can improve upon. The one night I dined with a friend, we were two of four people sitting in the restaurant and we had great service provided to us by the manager and/or owner. The second time I came with my mother for a casual dinner out and our service was interesting. It seemed as though they were training a new guy to be a waiter. He looked like he was in his mid twenties and must have never worked at a restaurant before and never dined at one before. He came over to us with a tray of food and asked which soup we ordered when we still had menus in front of us and hadnt ordered yet. His service unfortunately did not get better as the dinner progressed. However the woman who is a manger/owner/cashier (not quite sure) came over and gave great service. She cleaned up a spill that the trainee made, asked us if we needed anything, refilled our waters, brought us the plate for our dinners, cleared our table, and she was very attentive to us. The man who is the owner/manager also provided good service. Its a shame their trainee was not doing so well. If youre from the area or just driving through, this is a great place to stop by get some good food whether you choose to eat-in or take-out.

Terrible food and zero customer service. Spent $34 and the meal was awful. They advertise Chicken with Szechuan Chili Sauce BUT when we got the dish, it was in a white carton and was literally popcorn chicken. Small fried pieces of chicken, dry, - NO SAUCE. Called the restaurant to complain but the woman just kept saying its not supposed to have sauce despite their printed menu saying it does. Other dish was Moo Shu Chicken but it was incredibly salty. One and done on this establishment. For $34, Id rather eat at Taku in Garden City.

When there is a new owner every 6 months there has to be something wrong ....this is by far the worse Chinese food in New York / Long Island all these good reviews they have is a lie ...horrible service and staff I cant wait till the day this place officially shuts down ....stay away from this place ....if you want good Chinese food go to ah law kitchen in elmont NY ...and the lady at the front who takes orders needs lessons on respect

Good fresh food. Not greasy at all. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices. We dined in the restaurant. It is nicely decorated and clean. Not ostentatious, but not sparse and bare either. Perfect. Smells and looks clean. Food was great and we had a very nice time. This could be a weekly thing, it was that nice and calm.

The food was very under cooked. The chicken was very chewy and the fries were very soft. Me and my husband didnt enjoy our meal. I had to eat my rice with my fingers due to the fact they did not provide a fork and knife. Also they didnt provide enough sauce. I had multiple items and they only gave us two sauces.
