I came to watch the Islanders and there seemed to be a Cookout for the staff and their friends happening out back; as such, there was no one working the bar, which was empty most of the time, I was repeatedly ignored when I tried to get them to change the channel, and the whole place had the vibe of being in someones house when you were not invited in. I might have come on a bad day, as the actual room is charming and my beer wasnt watered down or anything, but man this place was a major let down.

I was looking for a neighborhood bar to chill and have a couple of drinks and this fit the bill. Beer is cheap. Its no fancy joint and because its not pretentious, that is why it gets 4 stars. If your looking for a real bar, then this is your place. If you want something shee-shee then there are other places around that cater to a different clientele.

Beer garden in back is great for your friends who smoke. They have your standard beers on tap plus a few you may not have heard of. Feels like a family run place. Lots of screens and plenty of room and perfect for watching college football but not baseball in playoff season (they close early). No kitchen but feel free to bring your own.

Shenanigans on a Saturday night is the only place in New York you want to be. The crown jewel of brooklyn-- all boroughs-- hell, the U.S. Couldnt recommend it more.
