I used to go there frequently to buy any cakes that I needed, but lately I have been so disgusted with their customer service that I dont want to go there anymore. First of all, there is always a line and even though there is a number system, they let people cut. The last few times I got a cake I called up and specified the exact things I wanted on the cakes, and when I picked the cakes up they were not at all what I had described. One even had the name spelled wrong! Finally, I called up a few weeks ago to find out if they had french bread and they said they had plenty. I got to the bakery maybe 10 minutes after I called, and they did not have any, and had been sold out of it for hours. And of course, I had to wait in a twenty minute line for them to tell me that. They were not even a little apologetic and took the next customer without even finding out if I wanted anything else. From now on, Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

For those people that are eating from this Butterflake Bakery. You are making the biggest mistake in your life. 1 i work for a company that buy the pastry and Im the one that set it up. i have seen 4 time those nasty little animal coming out the box that we get from their store their was 4 kaka roach. I use to love their pastry and now i dont eat it or see it like i use to. This is a discos thing bakeryy. i could think 2 time before buying anything from this store. when we get our food they always missing food.

This was THE bakery of my youth. A recent trip to the area made me stop in to purchase corned bread and a cinnamon babka. The corned bread was merely a stale rye...not dense and moist at all. Im afraid to cut the babka, which was a substitute for the delicious raisin/chocolate/nut delicacy that would be cut into heavenly portions that would then be shared. The store was depressing to enter and appeared dirty and uninviting. So sad to see it, but at least I know that I dont have to stop by again.

Butterflake is a Teaneck institution. The baked goods are great. "Comfort homestyle" neighborhood bakery is how I would describe Butterflake. As for their service, its good. I cant complain. As you get to know them, you feel more and more at home. Im a NYC transplant, so Im OK with their service. Its a bakery, not Saks Fifth Avenue, so expect a bakers demeanor.

Love this place. Everything is delicious but their donuts are something to behold. Forget about your typical boring jelly donut. These are like sandwiches stuffed with delicious fillings and topped with beautiful decorations. Everyone their is so friendly especially Mona. I will definitely be back.

food here is outstanding but what really ticked me off is that i go buy from here every sunday, and this one sunday i had no cash on me and the lady couldnt let me slide and pay 2.25$ with my card, unbelievable, and i go every sunday and purchase from them .

I wanted to purchase an edible image sheet from them because I needed it to be kosher and they wanted to charge $24 a sheet. That is more than double what most places charge for a sheet. No compassion for my situation and fairly rude over the phone!!!

We ordered 2 cakes and both were wrong the phone attendant rushed us off the phone said the order was correct and messed it up and then sait it happens not acceptable do not use these people they simply do not care about the customers.

The best pastries Ive ever had (specifically the black & white cookies). Friendly service and have a wide array of goods. Always packed on Friday, so try and get there earlier in the day.
