Below you will see my original post regarding this place but last nights (July 27, 2017) visit has turned me around. It was an absolutely awful experience and I will not return. First of all the parking lot no longer is available for restaurant parking. Second we approached the hostess stand outside the restaurant where we were told that there was no option to choose the "first available" (indoors or out) as we had to choose to put our name on the list for seating outdoors (here) or go inside to put our name on the list for indoor seating. We were free to check how long the wait would be for indoor seating and the hostess could not provide that information to us - we would have to go inside. Once we put our name on the list for inside seating we were told outside that we could not put our name on the list for outside seating. We could have been dishonest and listed ourselves for indoor and outdoor seating but since the restaurant could not properly manage their floor space we chose to go across the street to Woodys for a wonderful meal with prompt and polite service. Tommy needs to learn to manager the spaces properly as it is clear they were not interested in keeping us as customers by providing a such a disorganized and rude welcome to the restaurant. We had made it a point to visit the restaurant every time we were in town but I will no longer seek this business out nor will I recommend it to any of my friends. PREVIOUS POST: This is and the service was prompt and courteous. I dont know of anything that could have been better. we had a good time and enjoyed the time spent there.

9:30AM Pavli Terrible terrible service. Never have a i witnessed such terrible disrespect by staff members in my life. We ordered drinks from the bar, my bill came out to 18 dollars and i gave a 20 dollar bill. The bartender (Andrew) took my 20 and willingly put the 2 dollar change in his tip jar without even giving back my change. We then asked if we can order food from the bar, and he said you had to be seated at a table. Fine. We then ordered drinks from another bar and asked if we can order food from here and the bartender replied of course, he gave us menus and we ordered 4 entrees. We told the bartender that we are sitting outside in one of the canopies and that we will come back and pick up the food ourselves. We then found the runners serving us the food to the canopies without us even asking, which is very nice of them. They even brought out silverware and napkins. As we were taking our last bites when the manager and the bartender (Andrew) came at us aggressively with their first words "how disrespectful of you guys??" (mind you we were a party of 10). We then explained that we were served by YOUR staff members and we even showed them silverware and napkins that were given to us. We tried to get them out of our space because of how aggressive they were being with us. We thought Andrew (the bartender) was going to hit us. They then accused us of lying and that we took the food ourselves. We then tried to speak to the general manager and was too busy, We gave him our number so that he can call back. No call yet.

A female bartender called me the "B" word because I felt the drink she served me was bad. She was so furious that she snatched the drink away and walked away. I went to the other end of the bar to a bartender that has always served me well and he gladly remade the drink for me. She came over to the other side of the bar and walked up to me. I said "Im sorry if you felt I was being a "b". I just wasnt happy with my drink and before I could say another word she said "YOU ARE "B"!!! I was appalled!! I immediately told the manager and all he said was "Oh Im sorry"! Are you freaking kidding me???!!! I will never visit tommys again and warning . .NEVER deal with the female bartender because she has free reign to do or say whatever the hell she wants. I am 57 years old, not a young kid! Ive never heard of an employee, no matter what kind of business, being able to speak to a customer that way without consequences!!! Not the best place to go for cocktails unless you enjoy being talked to like youre a dog!!!

Ive been to the Tommys in Red Bank plenty of times and tonight was my first time at Tommys in Sea Bright. As someone in the restaurant industry, I am aware of the dos and donts that should happen in a restaurant. My family and I waited 25 minutes for our drinks. 3 out of our 4 drinks were filled to the top, while one of the drinks was filled half way. When we asked A MANAGER, named Dan, about this issue, he rudely snarled at my father and said that her martini wasnt filled to the top because it "consisted of alcohol." And then he walked away, doing nothing about the issue. He didnt check on us the rest of the night and this definitely ruined the experience for my family and I. Whatever happened to the customer always being right? Well definitely be sticking to the Tommys in Red Bank.

Pros: nice environment and food presentation. Lots of drink variety. Friendly service. Great place to watch the games. Cons: I was told the duck wings were the real deal, so I tried them and it turns out I was just eating wings of disappointment. Even the chicken empanadas were lousy and dry. Every drink I ordered tasted like it was coming out of a dirty well. Unfortunately, the staff didnt do a good job of cleaning their taps. Also thought it was pretty pricey for bar food. I believe first impressions are lasting and unfortunately this one didnt last long for me.

Was there in the summer coming off the beach , sat down ate the chicken wings all coal fired., came out loaded with carmalized onions and a fried Italian roasted pepper on top , been back 3x , If I lived clise I would hit it every week , and try the home made vegetable burger. ... WHAT ? ... yeah its that good ... worth the trip ... staff compliment the food , the best ..

The place has a very aesthetic design, but the food was awful! I got a burger and it was burned! Taste was awful, and the meat was bland and burnt, no taste, no seasoning, just bloody awful! Everything is overpriced and the quality is terrible. Theres way better places to eat by the shore, skip the pretencios environment and save yourself the waste of money

nice ambiance but needs to get its act together.Food was mediocre.The pizza in red bank is far superior.The staff needs training.Waitress was missing for much of meal in terms of refills,drink orders,etc.When we were done she disappeared for at least 10 minutes or more so we were staring at empty dirty plates and waiting far too long just to pay our check.

Anytime we come to the shore we find a reason to end up at Tommys Tavern. They have an amazing selection of craft beers and everything Ive had there has been great. Pizza, burgers, pasta, all super fresh!! The outside deck with games are great for young children when the parents are looking for a drawn out dinner.
