My sisters and I visited the Sindia Restaurant for the first time a few months ago. We have already been back three more times. This is a family business with a family feel. When you walk in the door, you feel like you are part of the family. We ordered the stuffed lobster tails; broiled and fried scallops, shrimp and flounder; coconut shrimp and bluefish. It has all been excellent. Before you even order your food you receive freshly baked bread (baked on the premises). The portions are more than generous and with many of the entrees you can also order a soup or salad, two side orders, beverage and a dessert at no extra charge. I am lactose intolerant and still wanted to have dessert. I mentioned this to one of the staff and without even asking I was given a list of all of the desserts that are made without milk!!! I was overwhelmed. On my last visit, they even made a dessert for me with no milk, at my request. Did I mention that the desserts are baked on the premises? The Sindia Restaurant for my sisters and me has become the face of Ocean City and our reason for returning so frequently this year. Cant wait until next year so we can go back and start all over again!! :)

I read the reviews before I brought my family to Sindia and we were all excited to go. When we arrived we were greeted by a nice woman who sat us immediately. It didnt take long to notice the amount of flies around our table. It took some time for the waiter to take our order and a bit more to receive our roll, which had a few muffins in the basket. A nice touch I thought. My son and daughter had the chicken fingers, my wife had the crab cakes and I ordered to surf and turf. Everbodies meal was good except for mine. First, when the waiter placed the plate in front of me I thought I mistakenly ordered from the kids menu. The portions were awfully small and cutting the steak was almost impossible. Not what youd expect from filet mignon. As I started eating the lobster tail I noticed that a good portion of it was raw. We didnt order dessert, even though it came with the meal. We paid the bill and bolted. If you are going to go good luck finding parking.. unless your going to pay $10 down the street. 7/17/10

Other reviews on here mentioned that they thought the food was store-bought or canned. I can confirm that was the same experience my family and me had. I finished my meal and I couldnt determine what ot tasted like or if I even liked it (lobster raviolis). The price was also not good for the quality/portion. Another family member got a crab cake. Looks exactly like the microwave onea from the supermarket. Im told it also tasted like it too. Atmosphere was really nice, as was the staff. However Im still only giving them 1 star. It doesnt matter how nice your restaurant or staff is if your food sucks. I also say they had a sticker on their door that says "please review on Google". To me, thats sad. Youd ask for a review as a company but you dont reply to them. They may not even view these. Given their outdated website, id say its likely they dont really have an online presence.

Overpriced menu for the quality of the food. No flavor. 6 of us dined and we all ordered different entrees. Not a single one of us liked our dishes. Bland food. Over cooked rubbery fish. Bland mashed potatoes. Green beans were bland with wilted ends. No creativity on the menu. Very disappointed. The.coconut shrimp looked and tasted frozen from a bag. They didnt even garnish the plates to at least make it look delectable. Best part of the meal was the ice cream and leaving. We ate at the Crab Trap the next night and were blown away at how much better it was. Dont waste your time or money! e ice cream at.

I love this restaurant. Its friendy and family owned. I never had a bad meal here and the service is always friendly and professional. The early bird specials are a great deal---everything included in one price: beverage, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. They always have at least 15 freshly made cakes and pies to choose from which are baked on premises daily. I know, because Ive walked by while theyre baking and theres no mistaking home made, fresh food.

I tried Sindia to get off the boardwalk and away from the crowds and waiting to be seated. Walked right in and sat down as only a handful of people there. Hostess and waitress were nice. Dinner was subpar. We were starving and thankfully it came pretty quickly. I got the impression everything was from jars or canned and nothing homemade. I would not go back if I ever return to Ocean City.

Best breakfast on the island! My family has gone on vacation to OCNJ every summer and hands down the Sindia wins for breakfast foods. Their home fries are made from real potatoes and are absolutely scrumptious. Ive gotten every style of French Toast, and while theyre all good, the challah bread french toast is my favorite. If youre looking for great breakfast this is the place to go!

We went to OC for a concert and decided to eat here. Went for the early bird specials. We were disappointed about our meal. The fish had absolutely no taste, carrots were frozen carrots, corn was from a can, shrimp were frozen and not fresh at all. For the 12.99 it was almost acceptable, but not really. If this is what you are into go for it.

We just celebrated our wedding reception at the Sindia and could not have been happier! The owners were incredibly helpful throughout the planning process and made sure the day was perfect. The food was amazing and all of our guests continue to compliment the event and great food. Thank you for making our special day so wonderful!

Let me start with the food. I had dinner. Food was good. 4 star. But the serving size or portions was poor. 2 star. I had eaten at this restaurant before so something was definitely different. Service was bad. 1 star. I left only a 10% tip. I felt bad butthe service made me feel this way. Nice people but I was very disappointed.

Excellent food and even better service. The owner is always there and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. She made a pie special for my mom after hearing that she came there as a kid and loved the pie. I highly recommend eating here.

Been eating there for 11 years & always delighted with the great service, home made food & atmosphere. You cant do any better for American cuisine. Great place with or without young children. Whenever I visit Ocean City this is the first place I eat.

Nice people - horrible food. Way too expensive. Crab cakes - all filler with a dusting of crab -25$ - ridiculous. Canned vegetables. My daughters grilled cheese was the best thing on the table. Nicer restaurant prices - low end diner food.
