Great Restaurant in every way! Driving up to the restaurant my party of four was struck with the exterior of the restaurant. The building is impressive with front bi-level balconies that are reminiscent of antebellum architecture. We were early for our reservation and the dining room was full. My party of four were warmly welcomed into the bar area. We ordered cocktails from the knowledgeable and attractive bartender. The drinks were of a generous size and prepared superbly. I noted the bar had a wide variety of top quality liquor. There is a wine bar area with an extensive selections, it is perhaps one of the largest wine lists in the area. As we were shown to our table I noted the dining area was populated by couples seemingly on dates, small parties, the corner tables were occupied by larger parties. The dining room is was elegantly appointed. The atmosphere is best described as convivial. It certainly was not a quiet room but I found the activity adds to the lively vibe of the restaurant. The waiter brought a complimentary plate of cold appetizers to nibble on, as the menu was perused. My party chose fried calamari and clams oreganatto for appetizers. Both were very good and the tomato sauce accompanying the tender calamari rings was excellent. I should note that the calamari appetizer consisted of calamari rings only. There were no tentacles which many people eschew. Our main course was excellent. I chose the veal saltimbucca, which I have ordered in restaurants all over the tri-state area, it was one of if not the best preparations I ever had. The Chilean Sea Bass special brought a generous sized portion, coated with sesame in a balsamic reduction. My wife, who is a discriminating diner, thoroughly enjoyed it. Espresso, Cappuccino and dessert were excellent. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. We were made to feel welcome and never felt rushed. Overall I would rate Samvera very highly. I have resided in NJ for five years and I think this is the best dining experience I have had in the state. I highly recommend it. Some notes: If you are going on a weekend I would recommend a reservation as I did not see any open tables. The bread basket was very high quality. Definitely a great place for special occasions There is a second floor to the restaurant which I did not see but understand is used for private parties.

Great time with Steve (owner) makes you feel right at home. Food was awesome, service was out standing. My wife asked for recommendations from the wine list, said she was in the mood for Pinot noir. Had a fantastic bottle of Artesa, it was amazing. Perfect compliment to the great food we were eating.

Gladly altered my order as per my request on a busy Saturday evening; sautéed my calamari and put it over spicy marinara sauce vs. frying it. The waitstaff was attentive yet didnt rush us. sautéed spinach was very good with the sea bass.

My guests and I enjoyed every aspect of this old world restaurant and staff. The only item I would correct is the street light that interfaces with the pleasure of being there. Maybe some window tint or curtains for dining at night.

Excellent food and excellent staff. The manager and store owner work real hard to make this restaurant a nice place. Its an older crowd but the service is the best and the bar area is very nice for a group outing

We all know that they are a terrific restaurant. Steve the manager is a great guy. I and wife have dined there and found some of the seasonal offerings as appetizers to be great. I urge others to dine there.

My parents have been dining here for over 20 years. We all love it, the food, atmosphere, service and the owner, Steve, who makes you feel like family. A great place!

Not a bad restaurant for NJ, tried better food, but also had much worse. If you dont feel like traveling to Manhattan, this is not a bad place to try

One of Monmouth Countys most charming dinning experiences. A special experience. Sam Veras Chefs rank with the best in NYC or Northern New Jersey.

The building looks fantastic and the atmosphere inside is nice, but the food is insipid and expensive. Dont bother.

Overall a bad experience. Food was not up to par for the price point and the specials were not at all special.
