Its a good day when a friend tells me were going to Smashburger, I say tells not askes, because my answer is invariably Yes. From the moment you walk in, you feel the Perfect Atmosphere, casual enough to show up after a long day of work, classy enough to take that special someone, Its exactly how you want to feel when youre about to chomp down on a high quality while not condescending piece of meat, Opt for the Big Smash, unless youre a Breadophile, then youll prefer the balance of the Regular size, I dont typically like house sauces, especially since most a Ketchup base, but I Love the Smash Sauce. The SmashFries are a bit overrated, Opt instead for Plain Sweet Potato Fries, theyre amazing, while portion size disappoints a bit there, so enjoy them while they last! As your meal goes on you wont stoo being impressed by the decor, and your adventure there is a surefire good time! Smashburger lost points on the Soda Machine, and price per portion on the Fries, and price in general... Nonetheless Smashburger of Montclair is worthy to be my Go-To when I need a Cheeseburger with SweetFries, and the standard by which the BurgerJoint is measured, A week without Smashburger is a week wasted!

The staff seems to rush the orders with little concern for accuracy. Ive had issues with every order Ive ever gotten there. They forget the cheese on a cheeseburger, forget the dressing for the salad, side orders are missing, inconsistency with the amount of ingredients, burgers that look like they were thrown against the wall before being dropped into the bag (see the picture of my burger that looks like it was slapped out of the air and into the bag) just name a few things. Not to mention the fights the employees have with each other right in front of customers. Why do I still go? It usually tastes pretty good once I get them to fix my order, but I think Ive finally given up on Smashburger. A Mooyah opened up near me and so far its been great. Edit: Somehow my picture keeps getting deleted and I have a suspicion as to why that is. Im adding it for a third time. My attended this location with my girlfriend on a Sunday evening and it was the worst experience ever. The entire staff seemed like they didnt want to be here and it wasnt very friendly. First of all the cashier wasnt paying attention when I was making my order and I had to repeat myself twice. We dined in and when we finally got our food the burger had literally 2 out of the 7 or so ingredients we were told it comes with. A bare burger with onion and ketchup like what are these people doing. Seriously how hard is it to make a burger with the right toppings. And the burgers tasted extremely dry and dull. Never eating at smash burger again. The staff was cursing and acting like fools. Very unprofessional and immature. I honestly get better service at McDonalds. Very ghetto place to eat. Avoid at all cost!!!!!!! Major rip off for overpriced garbage food with horrible staffing!!!

I recently attended smashburger Montclair with my grandchildren and left before even ordering. There was a lady whom looked to be a manager. She was screaming and calling the staff ignorant and ghetto. I wanted to protect my grand babies from such language and attitude so I decided to leave and we would dine in an establishment which did not degrade their staff. I use to always bring my family here however, at this rate I will not come back. Its a shame too because we always order a lot of food. If you think about it, a companys staff is only as good as their management and their food is only as good as the morale in which the employees work under. Those poor children.

they just opened a brand new smash burger in florham park and i loved it so i decided to take my husband to smash burger near our house in glen ridge thinking they will have the same quality...NOT!!! i ordered the Cobb salad and it was horrible...first off i found hair in my salad told them to give me another fresh one.....and the 2nd one was salty as hell!!!! my husband ordered a burger and it was so greasy and the fries were soooooo SALTY....if your planning to go to this location DO NOT GO!!!!!!!! you better off at the one in florham park...GREAT SERVICE...GREAT QUALITY...AND A GREAT ATMSOPHERE...UNLIKE THE ONE ON BLOOMFIELD AVE IN GLEN RIDGE

The food was fine and the service was good until I asked why the sign said $8.88 for the classic Smash combo and I was charged $9.58 before tax. The manager said the $8.88 is for the small burger. The sign does not say that. The manager said he has this discussion often so its not just me. How about this advertise what you charge and be up front with your customers and stop with the false advertising. Either people will pay or they wont. It just pisses me off and I wont return. Its the principal.

I dont have unreasonably high expectations of a franchise burger joint. Ive always found this Smashburger to have friendly staff and very prompt service. The burgers could be prepared a bit more carefully (its often sloppy in presentation when I dine-in - toppings and cheese sliding off everything, half the bun dripping in sauce, etc.) but its definitely a serviceable location for a burger craving. Availability of parking is also a plus in this location of Montclair.

Dont ever go here! The service was absolutely dreadful and a complete disaster. Ordered a burger to go and it took 30 minutes for me get my lunch. The people working the register, and taking orders have absolutely no clue what they are doing. After waiting forever when I did get my order they called me under the wrong name for the order and it was cold. If your time and money are worth anything to you, avoid this particular Smashburger at all costs!

Great burgers and fries in varios styles and sizes. What you want to try is the fried chicken sandwiches! Lightly coated without being crunchy the chicken is well cooked but very moist and tender. Your choice of garnishes add their awesome fries with bits of skins still on and life is good. The soda dispensers are self serve and offer odd sodas that mix well. Comfortable booth with basic condiments makes it my new go to spot for fast food.

Ive been going to this place consistently every day for a year. Not always buying something but every day. Sometimes I leave bad reviews based on my experience. I recently left a bad review, and the newest manager banned me. What the heck? I did absolutely nothing wrong, and I will get the police involved if I have to. Reviews are reviews. Accept them, but dont ban someone because they left a bad review.

I was a die-hard Shake Shack girl, but living in & working in Jersey meant not enough yummy burgers for my belly. Then the heavens brought Smashburger to my town! Ah-ah! Not only is it as good as Shake Shack - it is a teeny bit better. Love the classic Smashburger, also the Smashchicken with avocado (whatever that is called). Oreo shake and sweet potato fries = the tasty food trifecta!!!

I gave this place a chance, 1st time was terrible, second time around i sayed let me try again, maybe they got better, omg greasy wet burgers, poor grade meat, cheap products, including packaging. I had a stomache ache all nite after only taking 3 bites. I had to throw it out. Never again. And I hear they make their employees write good reviews weekly, but this is the truth sorry.
