I visited here the first time in 2010, and have been going ever since. Its one of the best Ramen places Ive personally been to, with the exception of some shops in Japan. The service is good, and everyone speaks English as well as Japanese fluently. The food tastes great, and comes in large enough portions to fill me up completely. My only complaints are that there are almost always a line, and the seating is a little more cramped than I would like it to be. But overall, the signature Ramen and Japanese Curry always has me coming back for more.

Mitsuwa sure is lovely but Batten Ramen is the place you wanna go for amazing ramen. And their curry is just godly. The place is a bit small so you might want to go during odd hours but its worth it. The place is actually pretty charming when it isnt crowded. recommend going on a Monday because Ramen is $2 off!! Just be prepared to pay cash though because they dont accept credit.

I ordered the Katsu Curry platter and I was blown away by how delicious it was! Ive never been a fan of curry dishes, but seeing as I wasnt up for soup, I ordered it and braced myself for mediocrity, only to be surprised by the excellent mix of both savory and sweet flavourings. In addition, reserved staff and prompt service helped make this a great experience.

This is my go to place for ramen in the north jersey area. The service is great, although some times slow because of few wait staffs but they try their best to accommodate your needs. I always get the kids ramen (just a smaller version of the batten ramen but has all the toppings I like. Great place to go to if youre in the area :)

Definitely a hidden gem! Ive been visiting this spot for years now every time is like the first time. The Ramen is authentic and delicious, the salmon is flavorful, the dumplings are savory. The biggest star is the Katsu curry its a flavor explosion a must try on your visit it will not disappoint. Great service and friendly staff.

Im a ramen fanatic. Ive been to Japan many times eating nothing but ramen, and Ill have to rate this place as one of my favorite in the NYC area. I particularly like their light clear broth noodle, brings me back to Japan every time. Their bone broth is just ok, therere other places doing something trendy with that kind of soup.

i frequent this place weekly and look foward to it every week. meals average about $8-$10. the udon and ramen are to die for and ive only had better at Ippudo in nyc (for double the price). The appetizers are very good as well. This is a personal favorite and if youre looking for excellent cheap food, this is the place to go

Pretty good ramen and lots of other dishes possible. Curry and katsudon are among the outside ramen dishes as well as sides like grilled squid. Theres quite a variety of sizes and flavors for ramen. Service seems pretty slow but its not so necessary in a place like this. They even have a small manga library for customers.

This is my absolutely favorite Ramen restaurant ever. Delicious Ramen and even better curry over rice side dish at a affordable price. Staffs are friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is cozy and laid back. Minimum of 10 dollars to pay with a credit card. Overall great place and even better food.

Ive been here over the course of 4+ years. Every single time I have visited this restaurant the quality of the soups and noodles have always remained very high. Absolutely delicious, so are the curries and other various dishes. Well priced and a good amount of food. Always a thumbs up

Great authentic Japanese ramen so close to home too! Their prices are very fair and theres always street parking. I recommend any of their ramens, theyre all good. Oh! Oh! I almost forgot, try the squid legs and the kimchi pork too! My wife and I always go there.

I absolutely love this place! This is the best place to go for anyone who loves authentic Japanese food. I personally go for the chicken teriyaki and the ebi shumai. The people are very nice, the atmosphere is great, and the prices are extremely fair!

How can a ramen place stay open if their ramen is so bad? Even their good curry and friendly waitress cant make up for the ramen. "Batten Ramen" tasted like they used pool water and eggs from last week. The gyoza was really subpar as well.

Great ramen place! I prefer this spot any day over Mitsuwa. I really like the fact that its not as greasy as the one in Mitsuwa and that there are a lot of variations to try. I usually get the ramen + curry rice combo, great for the price!

The ramen was good but the uncleanliness has dissuaded me from ever returning. There was a roach under the next table, a fly wouldnt leave me alone, and the filthy bathroom with an open door was located right next to the kitchen.

Authentic Japanese type ramen and nice variation of side dishes. With current situation, parking is tricky. You have good chance on underground parking. Entrance is from Center Ave. and make right turn passed the shop :)

Second time here and food is great! I had the combination chapon ramen and fried rice. It was delicious! Staff is always courteous and nice! Brent is the best in customer service! Love this place! Try them! Its worth it.

ラーメン屋の雰囲気を味わえる。基本的にとんこつスープが薄めで麺は柔らかめ。 チャーシュの味も薄め。

Love this place. The Chanpon is PHENOMENAL. No equal. If you go late at night, you can usually catch the owner cooking in the back (make sure to say hi). Great food and great staff - a winning combo!

The ramen is bomb. Good soup, true noodles. No cup of noodle here. Just straight solid ramen, Japanese style. My kids love it here. Chan pon ramen is good for those who like a little spicy.

A mix of foods. Some Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Ramen. Some dishes were really good and others not good at all. Needs to updated their menu and decide what kind of restaurant they want to be

The food was pretty good, but the restrooms were very dirty. I lost my appetite after visiting the restroom. The staff said that they are not responsible for keeping the restroom clean.

Seriously the very best chicken teriyaki Ive EVER had in my life. It would be a challenge to find a contender to the quality of that dish elsewhere. The fried squid is also really good.

One of the few ramen houses that offer a full range of ramen from all over Japan, e.g. Chanpon, Miso, Shio, Tonkotsu. Also rice dishes available. A must-try for ramen fans.

My go to ramen house in Jersey. Not saying its the best ramen that ice ever had, but def the best overall in Jersey, taking into consideration taste price and portion

Best ramen in Fort Lee and the local area. They have been around a long time, and that says a lot for this community that sees new places come and go quickly.
