Its OK. I order from here often, but only because its local. Food is very inconsistent. Sometimes it will be great.. other times, it is down right horrible. They VERY often forget things when you place in an order for take-out. The reason I know its so inconsistent is I really only order one thing which is the Black & Bleu Burger. Sometimes it has bacon, sometimes not. Sometimes it will have the red pepper on it, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes its REALLY GREASY with a soggy bun.. and sometimes it is actually perfect... and etc. Maybe they have 2 cooks here? Still not an excuse. They really need to work on that. Dining in is nicer, only because the waitresses are really nice and you can actually send your food back if youve gotten it and dont like it. Prices are pretty decent.. but would be a better value if food was always prepared the same way. I can honestly say that Ive been disappointed more times then Ive been impressed with this place. Pegasus in Malaga has way better food, more consistency, and the prices are pretty equal. Im not sure what the heck is going on at Elmer Diner, but I really wish they would fix their issues with not making food the same way all the time! A burger is the ONE THING any food establishment should be able to get right, ALL the time. Breakfast, on the other hand, is usually pretty consistent. I will give them that much.

My first experience with Elmer Diner was probably close to 25 years ago after we had built our house near here and were looking for a place to go close to home on those miserable nights after a long day at work when we just did not feel like cooking. Elmer Diner was not one that was anywhere near a place we felt could fit the bill so we didnt come back until about 6 years ago when we decided to give them another chance. We came once and it seemed to be a little better so we tried them a couple more times with our last visit having a waitress serve us well and also chatted with my wife which was really a smart move on her part. We had finally thought we had found a good place to stop in on occasion but never did as we lost my wife and I didnt feel much like going out alone. I did go in a couple times for lunch with co-workers but wasnt that impressed as they seemed pretty much just another typical diner. A few weeks ago it was my daughters birthday and she asked if we could go to Elmer Diner for dinner so off we went. Everything that night went well, the food was good, the choices were many and the young lady who served us was on the ball. Yes when I have the chance to go back I will as I saw a lot of things on the menu I would like to try.

First off the service was outstanding. Cathy our waitresses did a fantastic job. The food was out quick and hot. We both ordered a special which included salad, soup, 2 sides and dessert for 13.99. I had the ham, which was huge and very good, my wife had penne with vodka sauce with chicken. We both had the split pea soup which we both liked. The only negative was the pickled beats, I like them with more vinegar. Both of us needed boxes for the extra food we could NOT finish. There are plenty of selections, and plenty of desserts. I added a piece of cake to take home. Its cool, clean and the service is fantastic. Thanks Cathy.

Weve only been here twice. The 1st time was a couple of years ago, and everything was fine. This last time was different. We sat for almost 15 minutes before the waitress came over... she was just standing at the counter the whole time, doing nothing! Then she finally came over and asked if we were ready to order. I suppose we werent allowed to get coffee first??? Very odd! But, our meal was good, even though we had to keep asking for more coffee.

New Years day and we get a grouchy waitress with no courtesy, food is mediocre at best. nothing was cooked as ordered. Been here three times to make sure it wasnt just a bad day and i leave here dissapointed and dissatisfied every time. Never again.

Sam is the best host/owner. Hes always pleasant and receptive to patrons. The food, especially breakfast is consistently perfection. And the fries. McDonalds who? These are the best around for sure. Worth the trip. Our go to spot for sure.
