I used to go there alot, I stop because they charge me a credit card fee when I paid with my credit card, without telling me there was a extra convenience fee. I dont mind paying but tell me before hand. I decided to go there again tonight and brought cash. The food is great, I always order the steak tampiqueña. Which is skirt steak with chicken enchilada in green sauce. Price has gone up 2-3 dollars more since Last time I was there. But everything is more expensive now days. Staff is polite but could be more friendly. I think the waitress is the owners wife. Food is great definitely recommend it. Another note, my daughter order the kids quesadilla without meat. You would think they would give a discount but no. I still love the well seasoned steak.

Waitress did not smile the entire time.. looked rather annoyed we were still there. Stood there with her arms crossed at 9pm (they close at 10pm and we were the only ones there on a Mon night). Moderately priced, decent portions but rather bland food. Ordered vegetarian combo that was greasy (enchilada, taco, rice/beans). Salsa bland, pico de gallo was decent. Decorations on the wall were interesting. 2 TVs showing Spanish soaps if youre into that kind of thing... Overall average food but not very hospitable service.

Food was edible. That's a plus. Skimpy portions, but definitely overpriced... $3.00 for a cup of milk? $6.50 for 3 bland "tacos"? And They were out of the first 3 items I chose off the menu. I'll take taco bell next time.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have found since moving to NJ. A little more pricy then some places but worth the extra buck. Very authentic and laid back atmosphere! Would recommend this place for sure!

Needed to find a new tex mex since Claudios closed in Landing stopped at El Tapatio today and let me tell you the place was a charm. Great service, food was excellent. TRY IT YOULL LIKE IT.

My favorite Mexican place. Excellent and authentic food. The salsa and Pico De Gallo are perfect. I usually get a combo; taco, enchilada, & chimichanga. Great atmosphere and music.

The price is too expensive, in my book, I went with my wife and had 2 thin steaks and rice with salad,and 2 drink, and it was $38 ...The waitress, also lots mad.

I ordered a currry beef dinner to go. Igot 2 pieces of very salty beef that were like shoe leather. Very disappointed. Mushy rice and beans.

I got cheese enchiladas verdes. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. This is (not surprisingly) not the best place for a vegetarian.
