Weve been eating at Steves restaurants for about TWENTY years. I was trained The Cordon Bleu School and dont give praise lightly. We have NEVER had a meal there that was less than excellent !! If he cant prepare a dish =authentically=, then he wont make it ! I think that says everything about Taste of Asia. He is always at the restaurant, he has taught everyone that works for him (inside AND outside of the kitchen). Even after all these hundreds of meals, we still are excited about going to dinner there each time (Its a 45-minute trip - Id drive 90 easily !) I honestly dont think Ive ever met a chef or restauranteur who cared so much about every single dish he puts in front of you. I would STRONGLY suggest you try this restaurant, even if youre not that familiar with Malaysian cuisine. You will NEVER be disappointed. Promise.

Weve never tried this restaurant and only went based on the reviews. I have to say I really enjoyed myself with our friends. Its not a cheap place to eat, but Im willing to pay for good food. I had the Nyonya Curry w/ scallops. The scallops were on the small side and therefore a bit over cooked, but overall a really great dish and I loved the sauce as they are able to tailor the amount of heat you want. I had a level 2 which was mild, but had just a nice hint of heat. The decor is very nice and the wait staff very attentive. My finacee did try their Oriental Fish soup, which ended up being a basic miso soup youd get at any sushi place. It was still good and the fish was not overcooked. I would go back again.

The food is AMAZING. Came here at first with co-workers, and I ordered mostly appetizers. I loved every bite. One of my co-workers recommended the Tom Yum, so I bright it home for my husband and he loved it so much we went out on a date there, ordered completely different food (vegetable soup, beef dumplings, vegetable pad Thai, Manchurian chicken and yam croquettrs with coconut whip) and it was, again, amazing. I believe the owner took our order for our date - I asked him about a few dishes and he went into nice detail about each one. The ambience was a little romantic, but the lighting was still bright enough to see well. I ate there just this Sunday and I cant wait to go back.

Love this place - have been a regular for 10 years now. You have to know what to order! I love the soto ayam soup (chicken with rice noodles) and the Vermicelli! The best ever! I find it hard to consider reviews from people who dine at a restaurant once - unless you tasted the entire menu its kinda hard to rate it entirely unless you are just rating the one dish you had. I have eaten probably 90% of this menu and they are good. Ive had lunch and dinner here with business associates, family and friends they all loved it because I took the time to find out what they like and they have it all! Lunch specials are the best in Chatham!

My wife and I are strictly vegetarian. We came in and had ordered a vegetarian dish only to find a big piece of chicken mixed in after we had eaten most of the dish already. Absolutely unacceptable. The restaurants excuse was that the chefs were busy preparing "too many dishes". This place has NO consideration for vegetarians and they should be ashamed. A simple "Im sorry" does not cut it. Needless to say we are NEVER coming back here and others should not either. HORRIBLE experience.

We drive 20 minutes just for takeout! But, we eat in a lot also. The food is always fresh and the svc is always great. Our vegetarian friends loved it also. If you like really spicy (like me), let them know it and theyll make it to order. Our favorites are Manchurian Chicken, Tilapia Delight, Tumeric Chicken, chicken dumplings, pickled vegetable soup, etc. Warm atmosphere, reasonable prices, great food!

Just had real Malaysian food for the first time a few weeks back, and stumbled across this restaurant having arrived in NJ last week, decided to try it. Not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination- all sticky sweet stuff, even the tilapia was chopped into pieces and smothered in sweet batter. Nowhere near the real thing. Maybe the US market likes it, but I like real, authentic food.

This was my first visit with my family in NJ. Also I am not the biggest fan of Asian cuisine but my wife is and I am happy she picked this restaurant. 1- Prices are more than fair considering the high quality and freshness 2- Nice Staff and open room setting 3- Food was well prepared, presented very clean and aesthetic, great flavors and options for dipping sauces

The correct name is actually A Taste Of Asia II, and its one of my go-to places. Malaysian is much tastier than Chinese, in my opinion, and theyre not afraid to make dishes extra spicy and authentic if you ask, but make sure you know what youre doing if you ask for it that way. Overall our favorite Asian restaurant in the area.

The Malaysian food is superb. And, the owner is engaging and knowledgeable. There are endless varieties for vegetarians to choose. The lunch specials give me an opportunity to survey the delicacies. Never met a disappointment, and I’m pretty picky.

Fresh, delicious food that has kept us returning as often as possible every year theyve been open. Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) special menu with stories about the dishes is not to be missed! Good dim sum on Sunday afternoons.

Its possible to have a great meal if you know the menu, but a bit hit-or-miss if you dont.
