We stopped in for an early dinner/late lunch Wednesday and the experience was just terrible. We stood in front of the menu for about 5 to 10 minutes waiting to order but was not attended to. We know they just opened this deli, but a woman who looks terribly strung out on drugs was standing right behind the menu and had her back faced towards us majority of the time. Within the time frame of us waiting to order, this woman would walk through a doorway leading to the back of the store, come back up front, went back to the back and came back up front again in the store behind the deli counter. We even made eye contact and yet she STILL did not tend to us and kept her back towards us the entire time. We were walking away to leave to go to WaWa for sandwiches instead but a gentleman from the back of the deli stopped us and greeted us. The gentleman was kind and apologetic about the lack of customer service. It was very reassuring that at the very least, there was one employee there that actually cared about the customer and what we wanted and also what we were saying. The employee/customer service experience was terrible for some, yes, but the food was not at all bad.bIt is a deli, yes, but our order was well made and in a timely fashion. A Hispanic gentleman rings you up on the register but it is very uncomfortable as the language barrier makes it hard to have an enjoyable conversation. There were questions we would ask about the store, for example, the deli looks a lot better than before. What other plans do you have for the future of the store? And he would smile awkwardly, giggle and then respond by just saying yes. I also personally always found it rude when small businesses have cashiers that do not ask for money but demand it from customers. Rather than saying something respectfully along the lines of your total will be 5$, please you get a demand for your money like 5 dollars. Not asking for money, but telling me to give you my money is a turn off and disrespectful in a way. I was pleased with the food but most of the employees at this deli should absolutely be NOT in the food service industry. Walking in, my impression was this was a decent place with multiple employees ready to take orders and serve their customers with quality and respect. Leaving the store; the impression I got was that most of the employees there were stray feral dogs brought inside to be turned into house dogs. Some of these employees were literally clueless.

Stopped in on my way to work to get coffee. Decided to try a breakfast sandwich because majority of our construction crew passes this deli in the mornings and would be nice to have a place to order food easily and not go out of the way. My Experience was horrible I was the only person there getting food and it took nearly Ten minutes to just order the food I had so much difficulty ordering a egg sandwich with turkey. It took about 5 minutes to have to look for turkey in their deli cooler and then to point it out and show the guy which one I wanted. It then took another 5 minutes for him to explain to other Spanish guy what it is I wanted. Took over 20 minutes for me to get my food I ended up being late for work. I didnt have much time to begin with, I was only planning to get coffee but decided while there to try the food so we would be able to order in lunch for takeout and breakfast for other days on our way in as there isnt any takeout food places around the area and we have a year long job right outside of the city. I decided it would be worth getting to work a couple minutes late if the food was worth it, did not mind waiting or being late IF the food was worth it. Not only was it nothing special at all but I get to work and it was a ham and cheese COLD sandwich! Just a horrible experience. Will NOT be going back. There needs to be employees who understand and speak English to take orders and speak with customers. There also needs to be people who know even a small amount of food or deli meats to be making food for customers in a DELI. I will NOT be going back and recommending people NOT to eat here. Bad bad experience.

Prices have skyrocketed and service is slow and inaccurate. Was in recently and was second in line to pay, cashier rang out my stuff while there were two people standing right in front of him who were clearly before me. No apology or explanation, all we got was "its already in the system." Menu is generic, selection is minimal, coffee area is poorly stocked and not paid attention to. The owners responses to other reviews on here is disappointing, also. All excuses. "The employees dont know the menu." "A computer could do his job." What? If my boss said that about me at work, I wouldnt be working there anymore. The owners clearly dont make any effort to train or guide their employees, and then publicly disrespect them online. Thats beyond ignorance,?/!: clearly the issue of why this has become such a sorry excuse for a deli. Dont waste your time coming here, just go to the Wawa down 206. This place was more beneficial to the city of Bordentown when it was closed than with these owners.

This is a new management taking over but it is being run out of business soon. Ironic thing is the employees there actually seem like they are trying but that is very confusing. You should not be taking orders and making food for customers who are PAYING for it, as a test run of some sort. I personally think you should do your practice runs on your own time and money, get it together and then charge us. It doesnt feel as if your employees are properly trained. Service/communication is rough with non English speaking people. Food quality is bad as if it being sloppy and thrown together and things missing on our orders. We have come 3 times and I have gotten the same thing each time but it has been different every single time I have opened it. People need to be trained better. What is going on

All hot foods frozen and precooked. Packaged frozen precooked meats, soups and salads from restaurant depot or sams club.. nothing original at all. lunch meat is not even bought from dietz and Watson its just for display. Lunchmeats used for customer sandwiches are actually bought at locations aforementioned because its cheaper. Stale bagels! Quality is terrible. Service is worse. No idea whats going on or what to do. Businesses should not be run with the idea of trial and error. (Verbatim trial and error)

Love this place awesome friendly staff . Even if what you want isnt on the menu and they have the ingredients for it theyll make it for you no problem at all just ask . The owner is on of the best people Ive ever met as well as the staff . Not too expensive . They get fresh pastries from their sister site Chez Alice in Princeton. I highly recommend them to everyone I know going through Bordentown. Also they have Boost slushes. I hope everything is going well for your business Gus!!
