I have ordered take out from here on more than one occasion as our church is nearby, we encourage fellowship after service and we love to patronize the nearby businesses. Each time I have ordered the SHRIMP & GRITS. The most recent time was last Sunday. The first time I ordered there were 5 shrimp and I found the taste and smell to be acceptable - these last two times, the meal was prepared with only 4. I give them such a low rating in that even after being disappointed that they DECREASED the number of shrimp BUT NOT THE SIZE from whatthey offered when they initially offered - I know because I have an original menu - the QUALITY of the shrimp IS NOT GOOD, in fact to be more accurate HORRIBLE. Any time that shrimp has a "fishy smell" WATCH OUT. This occurred the last 2 times with the most recent occurrence I had to THROW IT OUT & AIR OUT the house. My husband is allergic to shell fish, but I have NEVER not been able to eat shrimp or lobster around him. Again, this was not my first bad experience with this dish and I have had it at other establishments with no issues with my husband being caused discomfort JUST BY THE SMELL. If I lived in or near Bloomfield I would have returned this last attempt for a full refund but being 40 minutes away I just immediately trashed it. I saw where another reviewer indicated that their friend had actually gotten sick after eating shrimp dish from this establishment so BUYER BEWARE.

Wow, what a waste of money! Food is avg, service is nice but far from efficient (waited for a glass of beer for over 20 min). The place is a mash of whatever the designers could find to fill such a large void. No real ambiance or theme other then..."lets take your money" theme. The food was avg, DO NOT ORDER THE BURGERS you will just be insulted by the size and quality. Amazed they took the time and money to buy a wireless ordering system and mobile payment with the servers! Far more successful restaurants would shy away from these and invest in better service training, nicer furniture and atmosphere, or better food! Best part of the evening was that they charged the card on the spot! And then as he handed his device to me to sign and tip them the minimum tip was 18%!!!!! For what? For waiting for a beer for 20 min while the bar is less than half full? What a waste of money!

Worst service I have ever experienced in my life. We were seated right away and waited over a half hour for a server. They told us the guy was new so we tried to give him a break. We ordered and never saw the guy again. 30 mins after that, a new waitress comes over and retakes our order. We still have no drinks at this point after being there over an hour. Finally get appetizers which were pretty good. Then wait another half hour and only 1 entree comes out. It was Salmon and pretty dry and tasteless. Another 20 mins goes by and the other entree still isnt out. At this point, we just asked for the rest to go because we had been there way too long. Asked 3 different people for our check and wait another half hour. We never did receive the other entree to go and spent a total of over 3 hours there. Never in my life have I seen such terrible service.

Went here with a friend who ended up having an allergic reaction to the shrimp. She never had a problem before so I was concerned maybe it was bad shrimp. I called and they transferred me to the chef. He told me shrimp is fresh daily and took my name and number. I was thinking they would call back and check on my friend. Lol. Never happen. Why take my #? Will not go back sad because I live in Bloomfield and love supporting my town. UPDATE: my friend who had the allergic reaction to the shrimp is eating shrimp again after 5 months and being totally scared she was allergic. Will never go back to Essex Junction again.

Ive been here a few times and the food is ok but the service is terrible. Came here for brunch at noon today (Saturday) and there was no one else here. It took ten minutes for the waitress to get us a menu and she seemed annoyed by our presence. I asked for a brunch menu and got attitude- apparently brunch is only served Sundays. Not sure why she was so rude to us from the moment we walked in but Im never going back. Also theres only paid parking, even though their website makes it seem like theres plenty of free parking. Be sure to have quarters with you.

Surprisingly expensive considering the area, but I guess since its the "up and coming" part of Bloomfield they can charge more. The food is excellent, servers are pretty friendly, quirky, and attentive. I thought their cocktails were poorly made, and in no way were worth the $11 price tag. Stick with wine, beer, or the simple well drinks (I believe they do HH weekdays until 7p). The food itself is fairly priced, not a bargain, but excellent quality. Pretty convenient for those getting off at the Bloomfield NJT stop, its literally right down the hill!

Great rebound! My first visit and it was very busy, with a full bar and tables. Staff was clearly overwhelmed by the time the manager came out to help (& address complaints). Although getting drinks and a slice of cheesecake (very good cheesecake) took a long time, someone always managed to check back and remind us that we hadnt been forgotten. As the crowd dwindled, I found the staff to be more than capable, very friendly, and knowledgeable. This may not be the greatest first visit, but it truly encourages a second.

Good place already and Im hopeful it will improved and become even better. Their dinner/lunch menu could be improved in my opinion, I often find myself wishing there were more or different options. The brunch meanwhile has been a hit each time weve gone. Food has always been fresh and tasty. Great beer selection and theres always a changing selection of live music and entertainment. Its a beautiful space and if they improve the menu a bit I would call this a 5 star place. Its worth checking out.

*** update from last months post*** I have now been here four times and only once was there decent service. Again today (Sunday Brunch) terrible staffing. It got to the point where I had to grab my own menu and some what wave it to get the attention of an overworked waitress. .......................................... I only gave it three stars because out of the two times I have come (Friday night and a Tuesday night) they were understaffed. Food is great its just that service took awhile.

This was our first time visiting the new place in town and it was fabulous. The venue was gorgeous and trendy with a gigantic television for March Madness! Only thing that could have made it better was the Wildcats winning. The food was delicious, especially the duck meatball mac and cheese. Service was top notch, especially our waiter Mike who was polite, professional, and exhibited alacrity that put most waiters weve ever had to shame. Will definitely be back!

Lats time I was there, CNN crazed / politically affiliated atmosphere that can no be missed. Their craft beer was missing yeast, yes it was just barley juice un-fermented and under hopped. Buffalo wings were raw inside and gave me food poisoning. The bill for that garbage came out to be over $100. This is the norm there and not just an accident. :)
