If I could rate them lower I would. I called this morning to make a reservation and then was put on hold for more than 16 minutes. After that time, I realized that this inn had no concern for my time and hung up. I just called again at 2:30 and spoke with the rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life. I asked about rates, in which I was quoted $70 plus tax, yet their website, which the lady claims they dont have, states $60 plus tax per night. When I inquired about this difference, the lady became defensive and refused to honor the online price and then got hostile in speaking to me. When I told her I was also left on hold for far longer than I should have been, instead of being sympathetic, the lady told me that she also runs the restaurant and had "40" people there. My response was that she should take a number and call someone back if they planned on being that long. In addition, I also sent an email requesting a call back and got no response that way either. Instead of trying to work with me, she just kept saying, so do you want the room or not. I then asked for her name and she hung up on me. Honestly, I wouldnt have booked the room anyway, but I was looking to get her name, so I could share with management, what kind of rude and condescending person they have running their front desk / restaurant. Not exactly a good way to earn business and I can assure you, I will never book a room at this inn EVER!!! Stay at the Northern Comfort Inn or the Colebrook Country Club. They will take far better care of you then this establishment.

New ownership, new management, new chef - the Black Bear has improved 400% since the changes began sometime last year. The chef, Gerry Leperle, has transformed the menu at the Bear. The brass rail style horseshoe bar and lounge is comfortable and sports oriented. Whether youre a first time visitor to the north country or a well seasoned local like me, youll feel welcomed by a staff that exhibits some of the areas best examples of hospitality. Too be sure, the Black Bear Tavern in downtown Colebrook, NH isnt high end, fine dining, but it is a great stop to relax with your favorite beverage, a quick bite or a deliciously satisfying full meal to cap off a great day in the wilds of the Great North Woods!

Excellent restaurant. Food was delicious, excellent service and pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. Everything greatly exceeded our expectations. As out-of-staters new to travelling this area, this was a gem of a place to find.
