Its not smokey anymore, because the new law passed, and they serve food. Flowing Tide up in the Northwest is more of a bar than a restaurant, while this place seems to be more of a restaurant than a bar, probably because there are more tables. But the long bar and high tables also make it good for picking up women. It is much easier to hit on women sitting at a high table than a low one. At a low table, you seem to be intruding and youre either looking down at them or you have to get into that condescending waitress crouch thing. You want to assume a noncommitted posture, standing, so if you get rejected, you can easily turn and move on. If youre crouching and get rejected, its pretty embarrassing. Theres two steps you have to make now, standing up, and then turning and walking off. The less time you leave a rejection, the better. So there you have it, tall tables: good for hitting on women, low tables: bad. But this place is so isolated, its not a good scene unless you like hitting on married women sitting with their husbands and children. Good family place or get together with coworkers.

Great Food, Best, very Best Fish and Chips I had in a long long time...I love fish and chips, have it at all my favorite places, but this is the very best. Fresh True Cod, fresh. Beer Battered light and crispy, four huge chunks done ever so perfectly, great Cole Slaw salad, Great fries..Sausae to ytour liking, Tartar was excellent of course katsup..Ice Cold Beer on tap...Great service...Great crowd..One of my favorite stops before getting to my Reno Home..I also travel to and from Bay Area, Tahoe, Southern Cal, so I am saying this place is great folks..

We just started going to the flowing tide the last month or so since we moved in this area I found a couple of the bartenders to be an attentive and and distracted with younger patrons my husband and I set there will be bartender went back and forth with other clients didnt even acknowledge we were there and it was not busy at all I dont know what the problem was but I got the impression they dont like older people I would not recommend flowing tide to any of my friends or family never went back to try the food

This place has never failed me.. I wish I had knowno abput it when I first moved here.. the place is always clean, the staff always helpful and on point 110% every time... Happy Hour is always a plus. Also a nice college spot but also for older adults... the food is always amazing... overall 10 stars!!! Ill be back for sure when I move back!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Absolutely the best Macaroni and cheese Ive ever had!! Creamy Gorgonzola goodness. Not dry at all. Moms fish and chips was great-no mushy fish and awesome chips. Husbands salad was delish--lightly and flavorfully dressed, good French Onion Soup. I wish I lived closer or better still, youd open one in Winters, CA!

I typically get food from the flowing tide on Longley - always a great experience. This flowing tide has proven a disappointment. Ordered food to go. Fries were soggy and cold. Grilled cheese was just wrong - cold, stale, and poorly cooked. Not impressed.

Friendly bartenders. Good food (cold chicken pasta salad). Nearly 30 beers on tap. Breakfast served on the weekends. What more could an out-of-towner ask for?

The burgers are reliably good but last night brought home 2 take-out burgers and the bacon-blue cheese burger was missing both the bacon and the blue cheese!

Great food for a bar. They have NFL ticket which is great for Sundays, but could use an upgrade to some bigger TVs. Fun atmosphere on game days.
