So this is just for the back part as the front portion (which apparently is the part that has all the tapped beer selection) was closed when I got here. There is a nice view of the marina and Morro Rock from the back portion and there werent a lot of people when I arrived, so I sat at the bar. The bartender I got was very nice, though at times seemed overwhelmed as she seemed to be working the area all by her lonesome. I did a flight of beers, 4 for $10, which is where I docked a star as none of the beers I did a tasting of were that special for that high a tasting price. As a self-proclaimed beer nerd, this was disappointing. That isnt to say any of the beers I had were bad in any way, but again, for the pricepoint of the selections they had, it was not on par. Honestly, it was a $5-$7 beer flight at best. I was told the front had all "the good stuff", which is fine and dandy if I wanted to kill two hours there until they opened, which unfortunately I didnt. I did like that they had some great tunes playing and posted the record of what was playing overhead on the wall and they had some really awesome rare bottles of beer in the fridge for purchase. If I had had the $50 to buy the bottles of out of production Cali craft brews...I would have gone to town! They also looked like they had a decent bar food menu, but I didnt get any food. I dont know that Id be back to the "back", but might check the front part out to see if it lives up to the hype.

The Libertine is one of my favorite spots to go and appreciate the gift that is the central coast. If ever I need to be reminded why I live here, a good sour whilst watching the sun fall into shadow over the pacific is not a bad way to go. The libertine is a surprisingly honest, non-pretentious, locals place set in the heart of what becomes a very large strip for bay-appreciating tourists most days of the year. Theyve dedicated themselves to the art of sours on the brew side but they proudly offer a vast selection of draft beers from other breweries to meet the likings of non-sour drinkers. Wine and spirits are also at the ready for the non-beer people as well as a decent food menu -- but its the sours I want, thats where this place shines. They always have a record cracking away. Bring your own and theyll gladly play it for you or thumb through their extensive collection. I have always found the people there to be wonderfully cheerful and the view of the bay to be second to none. If you like a good beer and a non-pretentious, down to earth setting, youd be hard pressed to do better than the Libertine.

I was really anticipating this place. I thought by looking at other photos, the pub part (dollar bills posted everywhere) WAS part of the restaurant portion but its totally separate...and with kids, it just doesnt work out. I thought it would be a cool place for cool parents with live music and food where we can also have a pint was going to be a fun experience but it didnt quite work out. I got the Libertine sour beer and with high expectations, it just wasnt all that. Maybe I will have try it again without kids.

Catastrophe saved by amazing service! The computer system was down and we waited over an hour for the food, and when it came it was wrong, but the wait staff totally took care of us and hooked us up for enough of the meal to make it more than fair. They made sure we still had a good time, and with beer that good and some killer classic rock playing, it wasnt too hard of a task. Still would recommend and likely give 5 stars if the food was on time and correct.

This place was so cool! They brew their own sour beers here, and offer them on tap. I had the grapefruit sour beer and it was delicious! The staff was really nice and welcoming and the restaurant itself was super clean. The bar area was set up to appear like a drive but was actually really nice and they have an area between the restaurant and the bar for kids to hang out and play video games it board games for free. I really liked this place.

Went in not even to eat, just to get a growler. The waitress was running around even though the place was maybe half occupancy, told us to sit anywhere. Then waited 10 minutes just to ask what they offered for take away beers. Bought their in house beer, she handed it to me and it was hot. I took it home.and chilled it, hands down the worst beer Ive ever had in my life. Im never going back there.

Customer service was great. No complaints, we sat at the bar, and the bar man was quite knowledgeable in regards to the beer menu. Ordered the fish and chips, a bit over fried and the fish didnt seem as fresh as the price. Overall I would recommend this spot simply because the atmosphere compensates for any lack of expectations whatever they may be.

I never liked IPAs or sour beers until I set foot in libertine. It wasnt until I tried all of their yummy beers, starting with some light sour beers, working my way up to some iPas and now I cant have enough of their ridiculous amount of beer on tap. Top notch. Worth stopping by if you only have one afternoon in town. Also the best view in town.

Classic pub feel, bartender really knew beer and made great recommendation. Food was good, not over the top gourmet, just good in a straight forward pub way. Some of their own brews are totally unique that youll enjoy trying, but theres also several choices on tap of more traditional styles.

Not nice folks. Waiting for a friend having an ale cos no 805. Guy comes in after me gets the same. He takes a couple drinks/ gets offered more. No one ever talks to me again and were sitting next to each other. Place was empty too. I texted my friend not to come. Theyre nicer at Legends.

Great location and atmosphere. Didnt have a chance to order any food, but tried three different beers that were great. Seems to be a focus on sour beers and IPAs. Loved the citrus swells, and my boyfriend downed three of the very sour Brett Sounders in a row.

For a slow day, and several employees walking around, they still got our order wrong. And also took a long time to get our food. Employees looked confused, and had poor communication, for such a simple order. Very disappointed, and will never, ever return.

Loved this place! Environment is relaxed and they have some really good beers on tap. A tad pricey, but I found it worth it! Especially with the large selection they offer of local beers.. Will be back next time I feel like getting tipsy in Morro Bay.

Great selection of beers. Their food is usually tasty and perfect for thr various beers. Service is pleasant. Was accidentally charged for an extra beer but didnt catch it until later after we left. No problem...will check receipt better next time!
