This place USED to be good. Tonight, I went in and ordered my meal and all seemed well at first. When I got my food...it was overly salted, little to no meat with my dish, the guac tasted like it was expired and then on top of that...the service was poor. I had to wait quite some time for a refill for my drink to re-hydrate my mouth since the salt from the meal had long since dried my mouth out. The floor was filthy, had chips all over. I will not be spending any more of my money at this place. If I want to eat salt...I will just eat some potato chips and save me over 14 dollars.

For dine in, this place is great. However, you get the shaft for carry out. The portions you get of certain things are literally about 1/6 the size of what you get with dine in. When I voiced my concern about this and tried to get the amount of food I was paying for, the lady was VERY rude and said "Ive been working here for 11 years and have never had a complaint so.." and repeatedly said things similar. Ill dine in but theyre a joke for take out.

I always have good service and food when Im here.it gets busy but not too busy. Great happy hour. BUT it ends at 5pm. So hurry after work. Big portions of food. Yummy drinks. Yes the staff are very fluent in Spanish here, but they also speak English. But if you dont understand what theyre saying... Realize your at a Mexican restaurant. Theyve won Best of Omaha award many years in a row. There are many locations too which is good.

The food is really good but you can definitely get better Mexican food in this area. You can find food that is more authentic than La Mesa and more delicious. The price is competitive and as I said the food is good. I tend to go hit out of convenience of location. Seating is not very comfortable. Most of your booths have a vertical solid wooden backing and it is not comfortable.

The food is not bad, but as person who grew up with authentic Mexican food everyday; its sub-par. La Mesa has won "best of Omaha" like 15 or something times in a row which is a sham considering how many authentic, small, mom and pops restaurants there are in south Omaha.

Great food, fair prices, quick service, and a fun, easy going atmosphere! They even have a little section of authentic Mexican pottery and art for sale if you do ever happen to have to wait. What else could you want? I give it five stars.

Great tasting food at any time day/night, when they get the order right.. Ive asked for sliced jalapenos and received a bag of whole jalapenos with sliced carrots and onions multiple times. Theyre so close to being perfect. :-/

The food was good. the atmosphere was nice and the portions were large. Cost was on the low side. But do not eat at the bar. Most uncomfortable bar Ive ever sat at. get a table even if youre dining alone.

The food is decent. The tortilla soup has no tortillas, they have no fresh squeezed lemonade, no sweet tea, the hot sauce tastes like ketchup. The tortilla soup does have really good flavor.
