I was there for a retirement party. Unfortunately, their AC had stopped working and it was unbearably hot both inside and out. I was seated with a party of 18 guests, and we were all sweating while we were sitting in the dining room. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! I wish I knew her name. She took amazing care of our group! The food was OK, but the bartender was an ASS! The bartender had no less than five fans blowing on the eight or nine people seated at the bar. Someone in our group turned one of the fans so that it was at least moving air towards out tables. The blonde spikey haired bartender guy must have been worried about his hair falling. He stomped over and turned the fan back on himself, and then lectured our table about how we have it good since the AC was supposednly working on our side. The place cant help that their AC crapped out on one of St. Louis hottest days, but they can help how the jerkface employees handle themselves. I hope you get treated better than we did. I promise, Ill never go back!

I had a terrible experience last week which will keep me from returning to Ice & Fuel. We had a group of about 15 adults out on their back patio for a birthday. We all ordered food and many drinks. The waitress acted as though we were bothering her the entire time. She was rude & unresponsive. After a hour or so I closed by tab out with her and went inside to the bar for better service. The bartender inside was also rude & unresponsive. As a group, we easily spent over $1,000 and were treated like garbage I live in Kirkwood and up to this point, I thought Ice & Fuel was a nice, chill spot to have a few beverages. I will not be returning. I tried to email them to share my experience instead of bashing them on google, but there is no way to contact them. Take your party somewhere else, Amigos has a good patio as well as Duffys. There is no excuse for this kind of service.

It was the Route 66 Festival and they were overwhelmed, but one might think they would prepare for that sort of thing. We got there and told that we could sit anywhere, but there would be a 15 minute wait for service. Just after that they sat someone next to us and started serving them right away. A few minutes later another table, same story. After waiting the 15 minutes and still no menus or server, I went up to the bar to get some sodas for my group. Eventually someone came and took our order. The food was good. No complaints there. But the place had several empty tables and the whole experience took nearly two hours. Seems like a lot considering all we ordered were appetizers and drinks. I would probably give them a second chance since it was a busy night, but then again, they probably could have prepared a little better for it.

My experience at Ice & Fuel in Kirkwood was absolutely miserable. It was a Friday night and the place was fairly busy. We had a group of about 8 people and our waitress was no where to be found. A few of us were going to the bar to order drinks rather than sit and wait all night. We asked for seperate checks and she said they could not do that. We get the check and she had charged some ungodly amount of gratuity because there were 8 people sitting at our table, some of which she was not even serving due to them going to the bar. When we went to ask the waitress about this she cursed at us and said we need to just pay and get the F**K out. The person they said was the manager was standing right there and did not even say a word. We paid and left. I felt as though I could not sit down for a week.

Love all the employees. (Except this waitress who seems to always have an attitude problem.) I went to this establishment typically 3-5 times a week. I wont be going back. The owner was drunk and offensive. I have to eat gluten free so I requested the breaded chicken be grilled which they have done with no problem in the past and never had an issue. I verified with the bartender that this is acceptable. The waitress refused to allow the substitution and brought the owner over who proceeded to accused me of being cheap, slapped down a dollar and walked away. I will spend my money elsewhere. Clearly they dont want my business.

Now that the smoking ban is in effect, Ice & Fuel will be my new favorite spot. I was always a fan of the food - the wings are top notch, in addition to other tasty aps, sandwiches, and entrees - but the fact that I couldnt see the bar from my table due to a cloud of smoke was super unappealing. Since that issue is no longer a problem, I Ice & Fuel will be a regular destination. Side note on the staff: the waitresses are spread a little thin, but ours was very conversational and friendly, and while we didnt get separate checks, she split it up on different cards without issue.

I recently spent my birthday here with a group of about 15 friends. We were not drunk and obnoxious and yet we were treated as though we were a burden to be waited on even though we spent well over $1000 as a group there throughout the evening. I will not be returning and I will discourage anyone else from wasting their time and money here. Kirkwood is a great area with many other bars and restaurants, all of which are better options.

Sooooooo, I used to hang at this place when I was younger and the scene was rougher. I was more than pleasantly surprised on my recent visit, clean, non smoking, open floor plan, same great comfortable chairs! The food was on point also! Great bar food, standard fare, nothing outlandish, just solid and quality! Staff was great and attentive! I wont wait so long till next time! Felt like going home.

Was clean and quiet inside, lots of TVs. Appetizers were priced a bit high for what you get. We had the wings, pretzels, and toasted ravioli. In contrast the entrees were priced well. The turkey melt was perfect. I dont recommend the chips, some were burnt and rock hard while others were soggy. But I couldnt do any better with fresh made chips so I wont complain much.

Ice & fuel is an institution in Kirkwood. If you like sports and good food, you will love it. The outdoor patio is a totally different vibe, great music and fun beach cabana feel. The staff is friendly and fast, they have fast turn over down to a science. Shout out to Chad and Maggie, they are great! Yummy food, fair prices and drinks are on point!

Very poor service. Depressing employee attitudes and atmosphere. Seem very uncaring about customers, especially new ones. Horrible radio blasting unwanted noise; rather listen to sports on TV or my dining companions or jukebox. Plenty of other restaurant/bars in Kirkwood who care about customers. I wont be back.
