My friend and I absolutely love the Swede Hollow Cafe! We have been there more than a few times and enjoyed our service each time. Our first time there they pretty much had us hooked with their customer service. My friend and I had gotten some sandwiches and went to go eat it outside. I forgot my chips and one of the employees came out and asked if I remembered my chips which I clearly didnt. She then asked which chips I would like and brought them out to me. We had such a good time we made sure to mark this place to return to it. Our second time there we hung out and decided to try their drinks this time around. I love their Chai Latte it is amazing. Which might I add tastes even better with a biscotti. Our third time there we went for my friends birthday and she once again had a nice lunch. When the woman at the cash register heard it was her birthday she wished her a happy birthday. We sat down, we ate, we talked, and had fun. Then as we were leaving the woman called out again wishing her another happy birthday which made my friends day. Im always excited to go here or share things from them to others. This lead to my father sneaking one of the biscottis I brought home, but I wasnt mad. If anything I was glad he enjoyed it as well.

Delicious food and drinks, but if you order any hot food items, youll have to wait at least 20 minutes before you get your food. Takes TOO LONG. If youre in a rush, dont order any hot foods. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a side of hash browns, a medium latte, and two shots of espresso. Our total came to $30, which I think is very expensive! If we had gone to Caribou or Starbucks, we would have only spent about $20-$25. Its expensive, because they charge a lot for their sandwiches. If youd like sausage added, its an additional $2 on top of the already $5.25 charge. If you want spinach or tomatoes its an additional $1. In the end, you are spending about $9 on a breakfast sandwich. Pricing is ridiculous and the food takes too long to cook or warm up. I understand they might be putting more effort into the food, but they need to come up with a more efficient and cost-effective method. Food does taste good, though!

Amazing cozy atmosphere! The building was intended for apartments, so each individual room rather small; however, they have many rooms extending upstairs so there is plenty of seating room. Even so, the lunch hour was packed. The cherry on top of this adorable establishment is the artwork from local artists that adorns the walls. As for the food, it was very good if a little expensive for the portion sizes. You may have to combine two dishes to eat your fill.

We run a commercial photography studio in Saint Paul and our clients ALWAYS comment on how great the catering is. They love the quiche, strata, box lunches, the coffee and of course the killer carmel rolls and french toast. Our view is that the prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of the ingredients. This isnt a corporate food type of restaurant. Keep up the good work!

I have NEVER written a food review as my husband and I are very critical of restaurant food. We went to this cafe on Monday for breakfast and it was wonderful. The caramel roll was the best Ive ever eaten -- the butter taste oozed from it -- and the breakfast sandwich was superb. We will definitely return, and I have already highly recommended it to several friends.

I go here regularly. The staff is friendly and the food is good. They just added an upstairs seating area and during the summer there is outdoor seating as well. It is sometimes hit or miss on how busy it will be but usually its not too long of a wait. The chai tea latte is excellent. Parking is the only downside.

great place! Great food by people that have imagination. It really is a fun destination eatery that can be gotten to my bike (its a super fun ride from MPLS along the river and up Sweed Hollow!). Yeah, they have limited hours some days but thats so the owner/employees can enjoy their life, gotta respect that.

So surprised at just how great a coffee shop/cafe this place is. Did I say gardens outside? Yes gardens and sitting area outside. Great sitting nooks inside with good pastries and some breakfast options. Good coffee and place us clean and pleasant. Most underrated coffee shop in twincites.

If you need a quick snack grab the buttermilk scone or their coffee cake of the day. If you have time to savor- literally everything on the menu is a winner. My favorites are the soups and quiche. Its very cozy inside. The patio is beautiful in the summer.

Great food. (#BestBreakfastSandwichTwinCities) Personable staff. Wonderful environment. A patio that makes you pay attention to your conversation more, delve into that book your reading a little more... It just allows you to be more present and aware.

Great coffee, customer service, and environment (love upstairs cozy tables). No changing table for baby in bathroom. Recommend for owners to get one because I had to make-shift with my cover in the cupboard... Will be back again!

Great breakfast and lunch here with little waiting as this place is somewhat undiscovered. Horrific espresso drinks are a drawback for coffee drinkers. One would hope for more attention to detail from an independent shop.

ALWAYS prefer your service with a smile over Starbucks! Location, convenience, and historic swedish feel makes my day every time I come in * excelling at the Scandinavian sweets like my mom use to make * Highly recommend

Friendly staff and unique comfort food. Good coffee, and if you order an espresso beverage youll get a stick of chocolate to enjoy. Try the hashbrowns (more like quiche) and the French toast were unique, and not bad.

Very cool neighborhood coffee shop. Two levels: first level is standard storefront; second level is more like a house (in a cool way). On the second floor, its almost as if youre in an old Victorian living room.

A little expensive but great stuff! They have seating on two levels now, as well as the adorable patio (gets a little noisy from traffic on 7th, but the lower level is surprisingly well insulated).
