Decent, but room to grow. Far too loud with the music. I had difficulty hearing to order. The prices were decent even with the pourover. It was made quite well. The beans were beautifully roasted. The drip coffee though... Why is there only one option for pourover? If you grind fresh for drip, why not offer the same coffee on pour over? I get the goal is to turnover business and drip makes it easy, but the quality suffers horribly. We got the Ethiopian and El Salvador. The latter being very interesting. I picked up a bag of the Kunjin PNG, which I tried versions of from La Colombe in Philly, and Blueprint in St Louis. Spyhouse did an excellent job on this challenging coffee. Different than the other two roasters, but well executed.

Dont let those negative reviews deter you. These guys know how to pull a shot and how to properly froth milk! Not something you find too often. The espresso is always deliciously buttery, creamy, and just a little bit tangy (in fact, I have yet to find a better tasting espresso) and the milk is beautifully textured. Most of the baristas are really nice or at least not unpleasant. Their pastries are pretty good. The atmosphere is cool. Their prices are right on par with most coffee shops Ive been to. Ive only had one bad customer service experience here and it was on a very busy Sunday from a very obviously frazzled girl. Overall, best latte this coffee snob has EVER had! Bonus: theyre open til midnight 7 days a week!

I went to Spyhouse on Hennepin for the first time ever a few weeks ago, and I got a strange feeling upon entering. It was the first coffee shop Ive ever gone to where the people inside were completely silent. Instead of the usual hustle and bustle and chitchat, everyone seemed to be silent and eyeing me. When I walked through, everyone basically stared at me wordlessly from their tables. Also, 95% of the people there were men. I think I saw one other woman, besides two of the workers. It was very strange--I felt like they were all watching me. Since there were no tables free except for one little bench, I got my coffee and left! I wont be back because the atmosphere was just strange.

All around best coffee shop in Minneapolis. Total hipster hangout. Modern Minimalist Decor. Perfect for intellectuals and students. Chess Players and Crazies will not feel at home here. Two electric outlets for every table. The baristas and baristos are the best in town. I think this place is owned by the same person as The Bad Waitress. That explains why the food selection suck big time and tastes like you just ate someones smelly socks!! however, the Coffee is the absolute best in town. Without doubt the worst connection in town!! Dont go here if you need to use the internet. Yet, I still love this place. Hot hipsterish men and women sipping on the best coffee in town.

Rude lady who made my tea only filled it barely little bit over halfway which made no sense. I ordered a mint tea with steamed milk on top (something that Starbucks always does for me just fine) but the lady was rude and said we dont do tea lattes here and she put very little amount of steamed milk on top. I would put regular milk in there but it would make it cold so that is why I asked for steamed milk and she thinks I am trying to get a cheap latte. It cost $3 which is more than what Starbucks charges for same thing and Starbucks actually does exactly what you ask of them to do.

March 2013 Thought Id try again. This place sucks. Rude employees, I mean they treat u like employees, coffee sucks always cold inside in the winter. Music sucks, sounds like a cheap imitation of Muzac. January 2012. 7pm on a Monday, all the tables are taken up by single people. My friends and I drop $20 on food and tip. We go to the back room and its closed! The girl working wont let us sit back there. WTF. This place sucks, and has the most idiotic rules in Uptown.

Great coffee spygirl latte with soy best drink ever. Their ginger tea is also quite possibly the best tea I have had this side of the Summer Palace in Beijjng. The architecture and character especially of the Broadway location is exquisitely amazing industrial meets hobo shack meets arts and crafts era. My only complaint is some select staff seem to love "herbal" remedies a little too much and get a bit spacy and slow.

This place has lovely croissants and really good chai for dipping. The staff also seems friendly. The patrons that I met there were really kind and welcoming, so it is a good crowd open to random conversation. My biggest critique is they really need to get both of the bathrooms fixed earlier in the day they were not in any kind of working order for most of the late morning to afternoon and it is Highly disgusting.

Every time Ive gone here the baristas have been nothing but curt. One of the times I was here I was working on a paper and I had my headphones in and my phone went off, the barista walked over to me and told me I couldnt play external music... The few espresso based drinks Ive ordered in the past have had grounds in them, the coffees taste mimics a robusta bean with the harsh after effects and burnt aroma.

My favorite coffee in the Twin Cities, I cannot speak highly enough about this place, my first choice to meet with a friend or to pull out the laptop and pretend like I am busy. I also studied for the LSATs here. Always friendly staff and the Baristas are well trained. Can take a minute longer to get your latte made but when you take your first sip you will no why.

Could be a nice place.... The barista tried to argue with me if ice would cool my lava americano to a drinkable temp faster than water. Just make the coffee the way I say to! And if you are there for work and need a receipt you cant get one unless you give them your contact information so they can spam you. I wont be going back.

Due to the lack of quality internet at my apartment, Ive been lounging all over the City in search of quality wireless. I really enjoy the Spyhouse. If youre going to order anything other than straight coffee or tea, it does get a little pricey. It had a wide demographic, fast internet, friendly staff, and a great location.

went in for an interview and the manager, amy, was extremely rude to me. She personally insulted me and my choice of major. The baristas were very nice but the managers are very rude and condescending. Coffee is very good but why would I go somewhere where Ive been talked down to? Thanks but no thanks.

I asked for cold press and got a talking to about how its called cold brew. It wasnt on the menu so knows what its called. The beans were severely burned. But hey, they very carefully placed antique cameras inside so it has to be good, right? Bleh. This is what happens when I dont go to Dunn Bros.

There was an employee who was extremely rude to me and a friend of mine after we had driven an hour out of our way to grab my favorite cup of coffee. With the way we were treated I can safely say they have lost two customers in that particular location, coffee is not worth horrible treatment.
