Before they reopened I went there and the waitress I had, tried to short me on my bill. I told her about the problem and she kept saying I paid her less, needless to say an argument ensued and another employee came over and mentioned that it had happened multiple times with the same waitress, thankfully she does not work there anymore. I went about a month ago when it reopened, and had to wait a hour for an omelet meal. When I got it, the omelet was average and the hash-browns were dry as hell. I really want to like this place but every time I go there the food is sub-par, and the service is questionable at best.

The Wagon Wheel is a great place for breakfast. I am not sure if they serve lunch but they are open 6 AM - 4 PM. You can crab two eggs, ham, sausage or bacon, and toast for $2.50. Food was really good and service was fast. Our waitress didnt check back with us but it was that kind of service. If you needed something you just "hollered." The set-up is oldschool with booths and a bar at the front and plenty of chairs in the back. At the booths you can play table music for $.25. I plan to go there at least once a week!

My family went to this resturant for a quick meal before leaving back to iowa, when we got in we were told to seat ourselves which we did and then proceeded to wait 25 minutes as 3 groups of people who came in after us recieved immediate help and even their food. we still hadnt even received our menus, so after waiting a few more minutes we left, i wouldnt even recommend this resturant to my worst enemy! Will never return. P.s i only gave 1 star because i couldnt post this with 0.

After a 35 minute wait the food was horrible. Hash browns white as ghost. The Omelet tasted dry and had little to no meat in it. The service was just as bad. We had to ask for refills, silverware, creamer, butter, jam (we got one packet for two people). They were however prompt with our bill. This is at 11am on a weekday. I would hate to see this place on a weekend! Your local gas station has better food and service. Stay far away from this place.

Never had such rude service before!!!!! One waitress was so rude throwing sliverware on the table the moment we sat down, when the eggs were runny we asked for them to be remade the owner/cook rudely snached the plate with a HUGE attitude... I felt negative racial undertones and will NEVER return..... Ps Ive been a waitress/bartender for over 10 yrs. I know customer service...... U lost another one wagon wheel..

Other reviewers obviously had different experience. My mushroom and Swiss burger was burnt. Both the meat and bun were dry as can be. Tater tots also on the edge of burnt - and I love crispy tots. Sausage and biscuits were good as was the breakfast pizza. Service is friendly. Wait for our food ( after ordering) was over 1/2 hour on a Sunday morning.

Looking for delicious and economical brunch options..search no more. Wagon wheel provides a family style dining at affordable prices. The menu offers typical brunch selections but the manager was kind enough to customize it to my request for a no meat and spicier option. Blue berry pie is a must for all those with a sweet tooth.

This is the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants that Ive ever been to! The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want it to be. When we lived in Mankato, we ate here all the time, and we never had a bad experience! We cant wait to come back!

Wagon Wheel Cafe is one of Mankatos hidden gems. The prototypical old-fashioned diner, you wont be sure how the Wagon Wheel has made it untouched into todays hustle-and-bustle world, but youll be glad it did. Breakfast and lunch only -- and be sure to bring cash or check!

Nick was awesome! Service was really fun and thoughtful!! The food is good and flavorful, homemade recipes, large portions if youre super hungry... My daughter said the fried chicken strips rivaled mine! We love home town feel places when we travel and this was it!!

The classic Mankato breakfast spot. Plenty of town has been coming here for years. Still hyper popular with high schoolers all the way to grumpy old timers. Cheap but hearty food thats served up fast.

Waitress seemed proud of the fact they dont take cards. Had to run to the bank and get cash to pay. How about a sign on the door? Maybe stop trying so hard to be that place only regulars go to.

I love this place so much. The stuff was amazing and the food was great. I was a bit upset when I found out they didnt have oatmeal. In the future I really hope they could add that to the menu.

Was much better with previous owner. Portions are not consistant. As a friend and i ordered the same thing and one had noticeably larger portions. Food: 5/10 Service: 7/10 Cost : 8/10

The Wagon Wheel is a staple in the Mankato community. Such a joyful place to visit and experience. Truly a small cafe, that needs to be visited. Its been around forever!

Trip Advisor gave it a good rating. Awful breakfast. Scrambled eggs over cooked twice. Hash browns over cooked and greasy. Very disappointed. Would not recommend

Service is Minnesota paced, but the food rivals east coast diner quality. Cookie of the month cannot be beat!

Serious hangover pancake. Expect a greasy spoon and it will deliver.
