I used this bakery for my wedding and it was the worst experience EVER! I ordered 2 dozen pink cupcakes to go on a tier for the grooms cake at our rehearsal dinner and what I got was 24 cupcakes with pink frosting smeared on the top with a butter knife. You could see the chunks of cake mixed in with the frosting! It looked like I made them myself. I asked the women at the counter if this is how they decorated all of their cupcakes and she replied very curtly "Yes". I was devastated. Seriously, how much effort does it take to put frosting in a pastry bag an do a little decorating? You think a professional bakery would care more. Thank god the pastry chef at the resort where I had my reception was able to fix them. Needless to say I was very uneasy about the cake that Roers was supposed to deliver the next day for my wedding. I had brought them in a picture, topper, and ribbon to decorate each of the 3 layers. What I got was a lopsided, runny disaster! The top layer was the same size as the 2nd layer??? The sides of the top layer were hanging over the edge, the ribbon was crooked, and the frosting was so runny it looked like a big gooey mess. There was nothing to be done to help this cake. It did not look professional at all. Clearly, the staff at this bakery take no pride in their work. I will try to post a picture so you can see how awful it was when I get my pics back from the photographer. Avoid this bakery at all costs!

Went there as a kid in the 70s because I grew up in the area. Moved away but came back for a family reunion. Going back in 2015 all the memories came back. The people are so friendly and the donuts are just as good as I remembered. The layered mint cake is the best. They should make it their signature desert and market it.

Great local artisan breads! Specialty cakes and standard doughnut flair. I have seen some wild and experimental treats there too. Id say the creativity runs wild in the head bakers mind. From the conversations Ive had with him, Im convinced he could easily handle any custom order, Im sure hed love the challenge.

Each year the Accounting program at Alexandria Technical and Community College performs free tax services for the community and the generosity of the Roers family is amazing, they donate their delectable treats to the program for the preparers and customers of the VITA tax lab.

Old fashioned bakery. It was like going back in time. Ordered single items from behind the glass cases and got it in a wax paper bag. Loved it! Felt like I was ten years old again staring at all the goodies. Tasted great too.
