I have never left a negative review because I always think it could just be a bad day for someone. But I have had a few negative experiences with this place. To start positive, I have gone in with family occasionally and sat at the bar. To sit and have a few beers, watch the game, and relax, it is a good and friendly experience. This is why I am so confused by the other experiences I have had, which have been during takeout. I live just down the road, and have called a few times for take out. The person answering the phone instantly has an inconvenienced attitude as soon as I mention take out. I have held often to the point of being disconnected, and when I do finally get a chance to order, I better be quick and concise or I am immediately disregarded. The only goal of the call for the person is to end the call as soon as possible. When I do arrive, the original pickup door for take out is always closed, and when I ask the hostess, she always addresses me somewhere else, typically the bar. When I dont take a seat, the bartender will never address me, recognizing that Im takeout, so that I have to walk back to the drink station and try to catch a waiter or waitress, who always acts as though I am interrupting them. Last time, because I felt bad in doing so, I sat at the bar and waited 20 minutes, twice as long as it took to prepare, before being attended to. In addition, the food is never in comparison to the food served there, even the simplest of burgers. Again, I do recommend this place if you are going to eat in. Its just sometimes I want to enjoy it at home. But as soon as the staff believe that you have no intention of spending a lot, do not plan on getting any attention. I really like this place, the ambiance and all, but this was just very disappointing.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go. However, the quality has gone down terribly in the past year or so. Tables are dirty and sticky and you have to ask someone to come and wash it up for you. The table of people that came in and sat down next to us asked to have some of our napkins to wipe up the liquid mess from their booth before they could sit down! The food is sub-par, the prices have gone up, the service is below average and the menu has declined. I have given this place 4 tries since the ownership changed and have been terribly disappointed each time. Tonight, my BOWL of soup literally consisted of 7 spoonfuls in quantity (I am not joking) before it was scraped clean. It had literally no flavor or seasoning and some of the vegetables in were not even cooked thoroughly! I ordered chicken wings as well. What I received for $10 was a tiny pile of wings that were drowning in barbecue sauce that were barely warm. They were out of blue cheese dressing and many of the small portion I got were just tiny little pieces not much bigger than a nickle. It was like I got some tail end scraps that they dumped out of a bag from somewhere. They included some celery sticks on my plate as well. Several of these had dried out brown ends on them! My girlfriend had ordered the chicken tortilla soup and when it arrived it was so thick that it looked like yellow oatmeal. She took one bite and sent it back. I am not one to write reviews, but am so appalled at the decline of what used to be a fantastic place to go I just had to say something. I hope the current owners get things figured out or finds someone who knows what to do to make this the type of place it used to be!

Ill give it one star because its nice to sit lakeside and look at the water. But thats where it stops. Ive given Bayside chance after chance after chance hoping one day Id walk in and find that theyve developed a system for running a restaurant properly, but its always the same old chaos and poor service each and every time. We waited over an hour to get our food, and one person didnt even get theirs...it was taken off their bill once the bills had been sorted out which took an additional hour. I also ripped the back of my new, expensive pants WIDE open on a rusty piece of metal that was protruding from the seat of a chair outside. When I pointed it out to the staff, they did not give a rats behind. No apology, no offer to compensate....no urgency to avoid a potential liabilty and dispose of the dangerous chair. Instead, they actually moved chairs around at the table directly next to me, and made room to put said chair for somebody else to sit. I said "Ah, no...you probably just want to throw out that chair before somebody gets lock jaw from cutting themselves on the rusty metal piece sticking up from the SEAT". They said [they] would take care of that but [they] were busy so they would do it later (we were the only ones there at that moment). Lo and behold, the chair remained in that spot and they actually tried to seat people there. I warned one gentleman who was about to sit and saved him from destroying his pants and a potentially serious injury. The staff was well aware of it, and chose not to do anything. Who wants to place $50 bets on this place going under before the end of the fiscal year? Me! Me! Me!

I used to love this place. Now, its terrible. The new manager is awful. During Red Wings playoff hockey I had to ask about 4 times within an hour to put the game on. The audio was for a tv guide channel or something, and the manager got snappy with me for continuing to ask for the game. You are a sports bar, I shouldnt have to ask repeatedly for the only sports game that really mattered at the time. Also with the new manager, my tab was incorrect one day and I was trying to get it fixed. I had to bring it to the manager because I was getting no where with the waitress (more on that in a moment) and the manager YELLED at me, telling me to calm the hell down. I am sorry if you thought I was yelling at you, but when the band is playing with all their amps set to what sounds like 11, theres no way to communicate other than yelling. That guy with his vests needs to go. He is ruining your business. One final thing, the staff is terrible except for a certain few. If we sit on one side of the bar, we have to talk to one of the "good" staff members and she will take care of us, even if we are on the other side of the bar, not in her section. I think you should hire based on talent not looks alone. Over all, a very fun and awesome bar has gone to crap because of their new ways of doing things. On a good note, they did post that they were offering half off drinks one night. After being told that they werent offering that anymore, I did show them the facebook post and they did honor the half off. I was surprised they honored it, but very grateful.
