I went with my mom, dad, and five cousins on Sunday, November 22, at 7:00 PM. We were celebrating the birthday of my cousin Jack who turned one only a few days before. The waitress seemed un-interested and unfriendly. Her tone that she used with us was that of a person who does not care about her job. Her name was Angela. We asked for chick peas on our salad and she gave us none. We gave our drink order and she told us that we were boring. She came by our table several times and was rude to us. For example, I talked to her towards the end of the trip: "This is a strange request, but I figure I should ask just in case. Do you guys have Spumoni ice cream?" Her response in a condescending tone: "No, we are a Greek restaurant." So I said, "Yeah, I got it, its a strange request, but I thought Id ask anyways." All rude comments from waitresses aside, how would anyone know that The Highland House is a Greek restaurant? They serve BBQ ribs, pizza, fried chicken, and bread sticks. The only thing on the menu that is even remotely Greek were the Greek salads. However, the fried chicken was great and so were the BBQ ribs. The deserts were delicious too, but they tasted like they were mechanically processed.

Terrible, took my mom for her 82nd birthday dinner as we always eat there for the food and discount $9.00. As she ate she had trouble swallowing and chewing and found a large piece of paper, the ones they use to flatten and separate the patties with, in her mouth..we called over the waiter TJ and manager and his apology was oh, thats what they used to separate the burgers with, was it on the hamburger?. well if it was used to separate the patties and theres a hamburger on my mothers dish what do you think, it came from somewhere else.. they offered to make my mother another hamburger she declined, At that point my mother was done and so were we, they took off the $9 for my moms birthday but didnt comp her meal itself which they should have for my mother at least.. I should have taken a picture, it was almost the size of her burger, dark greasy, what if she choked on it. I can say we will never be back and will be putting this on Facebook as a thumbs down. We didnt even do a birthday photo, she wanted to leave.

I unfortunately dont know where all these positive reviews came from. Ive eaten at Highland House about 3 times, and have yet to have a good experience. First off, their water is well water and tastes awful, so youre basically forced to order a pop, even if you just want water. In the 3 times Ive eaten there, Ive gotten messed up orders, undercooked chicken and runny food. I went there tonight, figuring Id give it another try. My waitress was nice, but not very attentive. She brought me the wrong soup, and never brought it again until we had to ask her about 15 minutes later. The food isnt awful, but in no way is it good enough for amount they charge for it. (Which is a lot for what it is.) Ive never walked out of Highland House without regretting going, usually due to the bad service or poor food quality and the high price I had to pay for it. I urge anybody who is considering going here to literally go anywhere else.

Normally the food here is very good however this time we had several problems. Mostly with our waitress Megan. She was very inattentive and we went without refills on our sodas for many long periods of time. Curiously she continued to bring beer to the table next to us probably because beer is not free and refills on soda are. And to top it all off at the end she scolded us for not telling her at the beginning that we wanted separate checks. A bit of advice here Megan, the customer is always right. And to put it into her words, " for future reference" when three couples sit down to a table ask them before you begin taking order if they need separate checks were all on one bill. Scolding us for a breach of your rules after we set so long without having any refills on our drinks didnt go over very well as you can see from this review.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to goto after church on Sunday. The highlight of this restaurant is their bread sticks and pizza. You need to come here off peak dinner hours if you dont want to wait to be seated. Most of the time I get their seafood fettuccine which has real scallops and shrimp. Although their clam chowder is not my my favorite in the area, it is not the worst either. I see a lot of comments on the decor, it does need some modernization but is no way considered divey or unattractive. They are in the process of construction of a new building at this address. The staff is always friendly as well as the management. If you eat here, you will most likely want to be a regular customer.

Just went for my second time. Service was good, but the food was well below average. Bread was still good, but the "Best Greek Salad in Michigan" was a very poor. I would hardly call it a greek salad. And they have no idea how to cook a steak. Asked for Medium-well, and got rare. Sent it back and it got it just as rare. Im not sure who they have back there, but it wasnt even close to medium let a lone medium-well! Still tried eating it and it seriously tasted like shoe leather. Clearly it was microwaved.... soo sad. The water and pop had a strong sulfur/well-water taste. Time to change the filter or something. Hopefully they can find some better cooks in the near future.

I love to visit this store. I have gone to 2 other stores in the Highland/White Lake area to order a simple ball for the dog to play with outside. I waited for over 3 weeks at one place. When I went to Livingston Feed they had it in within 7 days. I love the gift section and love the feel of the old building. Come on Highland/ White Lake these are the stores that showed us what good food was only to have the companies once they turned big give discounts only to the chain stores. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS and keep these places open where you actually feel like your business matters to them and you are not just a number.

Ive been going to Highland House for years. I was there for dinner 11/10/16, we had a waitress named Tammy who was completely rude. I will not go there again. Very rude about refilling our breadsticks and told us that Little Ceasars doesnt give breadstick refills. What a idiot and very unprofessional that was. You would think if you spend over $50 in food you should get all the bread you want. Good Luck Highland House, you just lost a longtime customer due to your rude waitress

I have been going to Highland House for years and LOVE the food drinks and most of the wait staff! They have the best soups around and the bread sticks are AWESOME! My favorites include Chicken Picata, Baked Cod and any of the steaks ordered to my exact liking. Their salads are really good also and everyone there makes me feel like family when ever I walk in, weather it be alone or with friends. I will always recommend Highland House as the best in the area.
