Went during peak operating hours. What a mistake. No parking lots available makes this establishment worse then a mall complex... finally get inside and its self seating for some reason? Maybe the hard picnic benches you have to uncomfortably sit upon and clammor out of just to regain your footing in this brewers tightly packed quarters are to blame for this scheme? Wasnt sure if my party was even going to get a table to begin with? You have to seat yourself so you have to be very vigilant in securing a table, as none of the staff could care less, unless you stand in their way for a 20 mins. The staff are all over the place. Very challenging to put in an order. Finally sit down after asking numerous people if they were done eating yet (rude imo) and continue to enjoy their below average fare. Was cut off becuase i "bought 6 drinks in 2 hours" when in actuality i bought a couple rounds for my mates for his birthday.. i tried to plead my case to management... they could honestly care less(yet again). The short bald manager will honestly have his whole staff affixed to your location just to watch you. Oh yeah btw automatic 10$ gratuity? So no tips i guess? Smh... just to sit on a picnic bench and "try" to enjoy their subpar brand. No thanks.

Beer is better than average, but too many sours on the menu. Also, not all dark beers must be Imperials or Bourbon barrels. Good beer over trendy beer, please. Food is getting better. It seems that an effort is being made to upgrade the menu. I continue to be disappointed with the arrogant attitude of this place, though. The service is hit or miss, and the growler policy is ridiculous (you must buy their stainless steel growler). Also, I find it interesting that pint cans at the store end up being cheaper than a growler fill. Still, the location and beer staples keep me coming back, as they are the closest brewpub to me.

Went because of high reviews. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I feel duped however. Mac and cheese was not the best ever. Maybe could have been more creamy so when plate cooled the cheese wasnt like a solid mass. If anyone thinks this M&C is the best you must think kraft is king. Maybe I should have eaten faster? I love breweries and beers of all kinds. I travel a lot for work and I always try local joints. Tried two beers samples before settling on flagship Raggedy Ass. Couldnt get down 1/2 the pint. Maybe it was a bad day for us both. Maybe I was sick and tired from a hard work day. Nonetheless I wont be a repeat customer.

Really nice and busy place. You find your own seats, with long bench seating. Saturday night is a extra busy time. You have to wait at the table for people to finish eating. Some guests are not nice: they will take your waiting seats! Prepare to share the table with other guests. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat this is not for you. Waiters are really good and professional - they take really good care of the guests, which is amazing in such a busy place. FishNchips are the best, with two pieces of fish thinly battered, with really good, crispy French fries. Must try beer flight. Really enjoyed the place.

The beer selection is pretty large and includes several very good options. They also distill multiple spirits in house, all of which are decent. The atmosphere is of the open communal nature but still feels cozy. The service has always been good and friendly, and the location is nice. The one thing that really stands out to me is the quality of the food. Ive been to a fair share of breweries, and Id have to say the food here is some of the best. One thing to know before hand is that parking can get full, but there is street parking if need be.

I had a Trappist ale and a Nightmare on Eton Street burger with beef medium done. Brilliant food. The meat had the perfect amount of softness and flavour. Bread and the fries that come as side were great as well. I also ordered some pickle fries. Amazing must say, since the pickle fries Ive had elsewhere came in huge sizes and were not ergonomic (dont know if this is the right word) to consume. Finally, washed this hot meal down with a pint of Trappist ale which was bloody awesome in taste and flavor. It had the right amount of hop in it.

The beer is highly overrated. Its ok, but with so many other better options in Metro Detroit they should at least have a happy hour on the beer. The staff is great, atmosphere fun, and my friend who ate said the food was very good. Odd situation with the mixed drinks - liquor sourced out of state and private labeled? Someone posted it was the best brewery in Michigan. Sorry - not even close. Founders - Bells - Kuhnenn - Dragonmead - Old Nation - Odd side Ales - etc etc etc. Nice place - average beer.

Went there last night with my husband and it was amazing! We were a little intimidated by the community seating and had a hard time seating ourself. As we were heading out the door, the general manager Brendan stopped us, bought us beer and found us a great seat! The beer was delicious! The food was delicious! The service was perfect! So glad we stayed! Definitely try the beer cheese dip appetizer... Its so good it should be a sin! And, the fish and chips were the best I ever had!!

If you havent been yet this is the perfect time, ride your bike up...enjoy the outdoor fire pit, corn hole, and some high alcohol content brews. The menu has healthy salads and of course blts and fries. Tip: if you are going on a date or havent been out in awhile go later. Its family friendly during the day, lots of younger families. Another tip: bring some extra dough, they have great merchandise (reasonably priced and good quality). Free parking!

On the plus side, the location is pleasant enough, situated on a not-so-busy street; in the spring and summer with outdoor seating thats particularly welcome. Some of the brews are adventurous, also a plus. That said, most are the usual suspects and nothing particularly special. The worst feature is that the food is atrocious, unless you are a fan of fried...the tell here is that the website dare not even reference the menu.

I love this place, great food, atmosphere, people, and beer! I work part time for the family that owns the brewery in a different venture. BUT: Griffin Claw refuses to fill growlers they did not sell (Brand). I was trying to fill 2 growlers for an out of town wedding to share the love of good beer, and they refused to fill. Be green, be friendly, and love beer. Change this policy and I will gladly return 5 stars!

Overall, not a bad visit. I am not a fan of their famous Raggedy Ass IPA, but the other beer choices are pretty good. I enjoyed Mr. Blue Sky - very light and easy to drink. I wasnt wowed by their food, but the french fries are well seasoned. My friend ordered beer cheese, which you would think a brewery would get right, but the cheese tasted like nothing. Thumbs down on that but otherwise not a bad place to go!
