I was there two days in a row last week; for lunch on Wednesday, with a group of people from work, and for dinner on Thursday, with my husband and another couple. My husband and I are very good cooks and we enjoy having friends over so our standards are high, plus I tend to be a pain about service and find fault at most places, thinking that they are either overbearing and too friendly/gooey or they have no clue about the food and no pride about their jobs. Yes, all in all, were customers from hell. Well, Ceres is a little gem. The staff seems genuinely happy to have you and appreciative that you chose going there. The menu is interesting and astute, not trying to have a million dishes but focusing on well planned and well delivered food. You can tell theres an imaginative chef in charge of that kitchen, and that hes one who doesnt skip any steps. My husband thought the wine choices were excellent. PS Cannot remember the name of the chocolate dessert I had, sort of a mousse. Yum.

This used to be a go-to place for me and my friends, but it has gone downhill. We went on a Thursday to listen to the music and have dinner outside. Drinks were inconsistent - first martini in a 6-oz glass, but the next one was in a tiny glass (maybe 4-oz). It was grossly obvious with both glasses sitting on the table. Our comments to the waitress were ignored - she simply pulled the larger (and now empty) glass off the table. The service was SLOW all-around - had to get up to get the waitresss attention and the food took forever. Cuban sandwich was no better than a fast-food place. It used to be wonderful. We were overcharged on the bill, but at that point the extra $3 was not worth trying to hunt down the waitress again. It will be a long time before I consider going back.

Ceres is great - located in the Beechwood Hotel. Ive been many times with friends and family. We have even had a couple of business meetings in the lounge area in the morning when its not crowed. What a beautiful lounge - the people that work there are so nice and accomodating. We always tip big if we use the lounge area for a meeting. We took my Dad there for his birthday and he loved it. The food is upscale, not pub style. They even have a sushimi appetizer. Not huge servings, but very delicious food. The atmosphere is relaxing. You can also do corporate events. A company I used to work for did one years ago and it was great. Overall how could you give them anything less than 5 stars.

I just do not understand the appeal of this place. The decor is very nice. I love the filtered bottled water left on the table. The lunch sandwiches special is nice. Those are all the highlights. I got the seafood gapazabo. It was a cold soup that tasted like spicy salsa mix. It really had no flavor. And the crab was tiny, almost non existent pieces. I would not recommend. The rolls this time was hard and not good. The ceasar salad was bland. The croutons were small and hard. The prices are watt to high.

I ordered medium rare and they gave me well done. Then it took them 20-25 minutes to bring me a new steak. The manager offered me an apology and that was it...had to pay $100+ for a meal I couldnt eat at the same time as my boyfriend. Id rather pay more at 111 Chophouse for chefs who know how to actually cook steak. If they insist on charging this much for something I dont want, then Im never coming here again.

We showed up with 10 people in an empty restaurant/bar and wanted to sit on their very nice outdoor patio furniture and order from the bar menu. Since we were the only people in the entire establishment shouldnt have been a problem, right? Wrong. They made us move to less comfortable seating. So I left. Thats $50 less and $10 less in tips theyll get from me. I dont reward stupidity.

The food tasted good; tried the Korean pork ribs, Reuben, and crab cake burger. The wait staff were well trained. Unfortunately, the restaurant was trying to be upscale but failed. While the decor was pretty, many of the glasses we saw were dirty. We also were served an obviously reused bottle that said sparkling water but was probably city water.

Maybe Im not high class enough for this place, but the menu was very Warren-hostile. After reading the entire menu, there really was only one thing I could actually eat. If it wasnt for them perpetually doing 1000 point open-table points for bookings, I dont see the appeal.

Expect your waitstaff to drop your food on the table and never be seen again. No checkbook to be sure everything is okay. My ruebens was unimpressive for the price. Try another place.

This place is my little secret. Mostly customers are staying in the hotel. Its a nice spot for quiet drinks on the patio. Breakfast is very good.

Came for lunch and the food was prepared perfectly. Their brown butter braised halibut from the dinner menu is my favorite dish at this bistro.

Food tastes good and nicely presented on the plate. Portions are on the small side. Ambience is elegant and appropriate for business lunch.

Kudos to Chef Jonathan Paradise who came up with a delicious and beautifully plated Vegan entree with no advance notice.
