My husband and I have been frequenting Kimball farm in both Carlisle and Westford since we were children. We have seen the Westford location change and evolve over time. In both good and bad ways. There are so many activities for families. Everyone always seems to be having a great time. We love going a couple times per season for "ice cream for dinner" which our son loves. But it is very crowded on the weekends. The ice cream lines get extremely long. And it is getting pretty expensive. If you are just looking for their ice cream, pop over to the carlisle location. This is our go-to spot for a quick ice cream run after dinner. There are a few farm animals there and the lines are much shorter. As much as I love kimballs, I only gave 3 stars because I needed to average out the beginning of the season with the end. The beginning is always a rocky start for the high school staff. I cut them tons of slack because this may be their first job and they are still learning. They get much better further on in the season. Moving quickly and with better customer service. However, in the beginning of the season you may experience something like what my husband ran into last week. He went to Westford to get us a couple sundaes after our kids went to bed. Waited in an extremely long line which was understandable. It had been a hot day! Ordered our sundaes and paid for them both with a debit card. When the young girl brought them back, my husband noticed that she mixed up the order and put marshmallow on both of them instead of whipped cream on mine. No big deal. Im not a huge fan of marshmallow but whatever. Husband just asks her to throw some whipped cream on top and call it a day. She says that will be an extra 25 cents. Seriously???? My husband didnt bring any cash and just had his debit card so he says she can charge the card again for the 25 cents if its really that big of a deal. She said she is not allowed to charge for such a small amount. Totally baffled, my husband doesnt know what to say. He has me at home with a sleeping 4 month old and does not want to risk that the whipped cream was going to make or break my long, exhausting day. Another customer overhears this ridiculous exchange and hands the cashier a dollar. I dont blame the high school kids for incidences like this. They are still learning and trying to follow the rules management has set for them. Things are black and white to them. But it can get really frustrating. A more present management would be helpful for these kids especially as they are still learning in the beginning.

Been going here 3-4 years in a row now... This. Is a good place to go with your family and friends... They have more activitys to do than before... I was really looking forward to play corn hole which they didnt have before... But... Before that... I was at the bar... This was the second beer i got... Was with someone and they wanted to watch volleyball... Walked over there and got yelled at by one of the workers for the first time... I think she judged us by our appearance i guess... She said to us with a rude attitude... Kids go to the tent now... I was talking to her nicely and calm to say i see alot of people wasnt at the tent... Their was peopl in the grass area where people was playing soccer and cornhole accross from the volleyball... Their was people drinking at the smoking area... Their was. People around the bar... And their was also people walking around with drinks... She talked loud with an attitude and didnt want to listen to me talk... She was like... Do you need me to call security??? I was like ok... I know your doing your job... But... Really??? There was a sign no alcohol before the bridge... This was the first time this had ever happened and it just ruined my day... Never been treated that badly and been disrespected like that before!!! So unprofessional... People seen my face and knew something was wrong... Cause they know me for being a joyful person that likes to have fun... It just ruined my day... Yea... Thats all i can say...

Kimballs is great. You can go to Kimballs for a few different things so Ill review each separately. 1) For the rides. At kimballs they have two mini golf courses that are pretty good. Lots of fun and some interesting ones that go under the waterfall and in a cave. They have Bumper boats that are fun for the kids, but I have to say, as an adult I find the exhaust from them a bit nasty. There are batting cages. They recently added a zipline that I havent tried. There is also a driving range and a chip and put course that are great fun! The arcade is good, but Im over that type of arcade so I try to steer clear. And there are pony rides too that ... well, the pony looks very sad, but the kids like it. 2) For the food. There are two places to eat at Kimballs. The inside place has good sandwiches and interesting food. I liked my pesto chicken sandwich a lot. Or you can eat outside and order from the fried food menu. On this menu you can get grilled chicken or BBQ chicken, but most of the other food is fried and a bit over priced if you ask me. I would recommend eating outside if you are in the mood for fried food. 3) Ice cream. The ice cream is great! Get a size smaller than you think you need and you will be all set. All in all a great place to go for a company/school outing, family get together, lunch with friends, or just an ice cream.

I was incredibly disappointed in my ice cream - which the girl (who was very sweet) didnt even get right but I didnt want her to throw it away and waste it plus I dont mind cookie dough - well that is except when its from here. All the cookie dough in my scoop was smashed into one corner meaning the ice cream wasnt well mixed which was disappointing. On top of that the vanilla was bland and didnt taste like much other than frozen sweetened milk... I had asked for cookies and cream but as the vanilla base wasnt that good I cant imagine I wouldve enjoyed that much more. I was also disappointed that you cannot order two flavors in a small. Im not sure how that impacts the bottom line especially when it would make customers happy (the womab behind me was confused too when she tried to order two flavors in a small and was told no). Most other ice cream places will let you get two flavors in a small (including the super frou frou places in Boston). I can say I had such a good time and good ice cream the last time I was here about two years ago but Im sadly disappointed and wont be back. Looks like Ill be driving all the way to Eriksons in Maynard. Better ice cream and they let you do two flavors.

Ate at the grill and got an ice cream for dessert. If the food had been absolutely outstanding, it might have been worth it, but it wasnt. Burger was greasy, merely a patty slapped on a bun, no lettuce, tomato or anything! For $11 ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Worse than a dollar menu item at McDonalds. The fishermans platter was just "OK", but $33 plus tax is a little pricey! Clams were very rubbery, seem that they had been frozen and thawed at least twice. Shrimp were so-so, scallops and fish were pretty good. Fries were limp and VERY greasy! Who eats this stuff? Judging from the people we saw, mostly unhealthy obese people. Ice cream was good, as expected. About as good as Ben and Jerrys. We didnt venture any further because we had gone there only for lunch. Overall, a very underwhelming experience. Its so crowded, and so expensive, somebody is making a ton of $$$. We might go back for just the ice cream, or maybe not.
