My husband and I have been to Gias a few times, with mixed results. This Sat., late afternoon, however, will be the last time. The drinks, calamari app., and salads were quite good. However, it took 35 mins. after the salads, for our dinner to arrive. In the meantime, we overheard our waitress recite the specials for the night, to other diners. When I asked her why she did not tell us what the specials were, she said she just found out what they were going to be. When our dinners finally arrived, they were absolutely not edible. My veal parm was a wafer thin piece of dried shoe leather. The pasta side was miserably overcooked, and the sauce tasted like it was just poured out of a jar of Ragu. My husbands alfredo was a congealed mess. The 4 shrimps that came with it were dried out card board. The waitress really didnt care, and seemed more interested in pushing drinks. Never again!

Good food, local! Try this place. The Blackstone VAlley is desperate for a real non-fried food/fake ethnic restaurant. We are tired of driving to Prov, Boston, and Worcester to eat decent food. They do need to work on service. hostess never greeted us, and then she disappeared. Went into the bar - got a table and after about an hour we decided to leave to eat elsewhere. Then a waitress showed up. It was all good after that. Fried lasagna was so-so -- but the eggplant fries and bruschetta were good. She was friendly and the food came quickly. Prices are good -- people who say they are high are either cheap or dont go out much. Mgmnt needs to work on service and/or getting the kitchen to be faster. The rest is large, maybe the staff or output of the kitchen is just not enough for the number of tables. Hope they work on this it would be a shame to see this place go under.

We visited this restaurant for the first time. The service was pretty good, the bread they brought out was hard. We enjoyed the salads, but we wish it had croutons, you should get your dressing on the side, they are very generous. The meals we had was chicken parm and chicken Alfredo with shrimp. The chicken parm was delicious, biggest piece of chicken we have ever seen. Alfredo was just okay. Prices were kinda steep. Dining room was clean, and well kept. We had trouble reading the menu, since we dont speak Italian. Bathroom was well kept, but very small. Theres a bar located in restaurant, and they were loud. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant, cause no place is perfect, and the food is good.

Have been here multiple times and really enjoy the atmosphere and the Italian food. Its nice to have a local restaurant that offers this type of cuisine at reasonable prices. The staff has always been very friendly during each visit and I like that they always have drink specials along with the food specials. It could be argued that the main part of the restaurant is outdated and could use some piz-azz, but I enjoy the rustic look and wont let that change my experience of this great local place. Cant wait to go back again!

Ive gone here a few times. Once when they just opened and I wasnt all that impressed but went back a few weeks later and the food had significantly improved. This place really has potential and they have some wonderful recipes that would be excellent if they used only fresh ingredients. For example, I ordered the shrimp scampi and while I could taste some fresh garlic, they also used the jarred minced garlic (yuck). Overall a really nice place though and the service is phenomenal.

First as soon as my family got there they asked us to leave... just because they didnt want to move around tables. Then once we got seated and ordered it took 45 minutes to receive our orders and the waitress was very rude to us, they give you so much food I watched as every table around us had alot of left overs. But the food was good all in all I would have rather of went to olive garden then this place. Never will I go back there!

Will never return. Ordered steak and eggs. Steak was overcooked and rotten. Asked them to take it back and got one pancake instead. Still got charged for the steak! When I questioned the waitress she said the pancake replaced the steak. Homefries are good, but not worth the rest of the terrible food! Should have just went to McDonalds!

3 stars only because the food was so good. As a previous reviewer stated, the service is a joke. Tried this place several times hoping it would improve and it did but not by much. This place has a lot of potential if someone with real restaurant experience took it over.

My family and I have been a few times... once for dinner and twice for breakfast. The food was always very good and staff, super friendly. The only draw back is that the prices seem a little high for the portion, but all in all its a 4 star

Went for breakfast with 8 people. Mom found a hair in her eggs. Food was luke warm at best and the waitress was very unprofessional. Then the waitress charged us for the hairy eggs. Wont be going back anytime soon.

It took 1 1/2 hour to get our food and it was cold. Then then they ran out of the pasta that went with the dinners. Food was just ok, definitely not worth the 22.00 a plate price will never go back.

Excellent food; nice atmosphere. Great place for a special night out. Has a separate tavern area. Cozy. Portions are generous. Everything is prepared fresh so you can eat at a casual pace.

I have been to Gias for both breakfast and dinner and both were excellent. The menu is quite extensive and the specials were great. No need to go to Prov. or Boston to have great Italian food.

I have lived the food from here since they originally opened. They have had there share of problems in keeping running, but they are still a great choice!
