5/2011: Disappointed. Yes there is a good patio. Maybe we ordered unwisely. Maybe the real chef wasnt there the night we ate. Maybe there were too many untrained college students thrust into their familial relations summer service job. We hadnt been to Cafe Tosca for a year or so. Probably will be more than a year before we go again. We live in Hingham. Seems like we paid Tosca prices for well-sub-Tosca food. Not sure what the mission of Cafe Tosca is,er this meal. We saw many other diners that had a better idea. Treat it as a very quick meal, casual place. Dont make it a multi-course destination. Go for the jazzed-up home meal equivalent and enjoy the patio. Play it safe, get a pasta. Those patrons seemed happy. The prosciutto wrapped chicken was too dry to save for leftovers. The beet salad had a whole can of beets, but too little cheese. Maybe we ordered unwisely.

This place feels like a comfortable blanket in the winter and a well placed cloud on the hottest day of the year. For when you want great food and service, but would rather rellllaaaaxxxxx. Its a happy place.
