Today we visited this restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately we can’t say it was a great experience. The food was mediocre at best. The service was fast and attentive but with the luck of professionalism. We are from former Soviet Union, visited Kavkaz area numerous times and enjoyed the real kebabs and other their dishes a lot. Any person familiar with this cuisine knows that kebab meats should be marinated (better overnight) before they are put on the grill. The meats we ate at this place were definitely not marinated. Everything we ate was too dry and could use some sauces like Tkemali. Or if you offer plane yogurt do not call it “yogurt sauce” because the sauce requires some more ingredience (like dill and garlic and cilantro and salt …) than your chef puts in it. The baklava for dessert was in reality some version of Russian walnut/honey cake, and wasn’t even close to the real thing with phillo dough layers and yummy walnut filling soaked in sweet honey syrup as it should be. All together it was a bland food with nice ambience and kind of nice service.

second trip there. first was great. this was not. no glasses for the other couples bottled water. no plates for appetizers. our main courses came at the same time as our appetizers but the couple we were with not only didnt get their main courses but as i finished my meal they informed one that her meal wasnt available at all and she should pick something else and the other that his lamb would take another 15 minutes. food was average at best. service was obviously poor. have been to several other kebob places in maryland and this trip to kavkas was the worst. we will not be back.

I love this place! The food is amazing, the service is great and the atmosphere is really warm and inviting. So far I have tried the chicken and salmon kebabs - both delicious, and my husband and I love making little sandwiches out of the hot tandoori bread and the veggies and feta cheese from the Kavkaz salad. My daughters favorite is the Khachapuri cheese pastry appetizer, which is flaky and cheesey and melts in your mouth. Im getting hungry! Everyone should try this place-it totally rocks. I also really like that we can bring our own wine, which is a savings.

The chicken kebab was good; slightly pricey but not offensively so. Liked the hot tomato salsa-like condiment ; perhaps this is an Azeri style, never had that before with kebab. Owner was a little grouchy, made me wish I had gone to Burger King instead; his website said open at 11 AM, I called 11:30 and got growled at for calling early and he was equally cold when I arrived. Perhaps its a cultural miscommunication on my part, however. But the food was good. I dont think I would pay dinner prices there but for lunch it was a fair (if not excellent) price

I ate at this establishment for the first time this past Friday. I must say it exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was terrific, the service was great, and the food was out of this world!!! I got the chicken kabob which came with a side of bismati rice, salad, and bread, and it was cooked perfectly. My fiance got the lamb chops, and he would not stop raving how moist and flavorful they were. I definitely recommend Kavkaz Kebab to anyone who is looking for an ethnic twist to a nice meal out!!!
