Im editing an old post here ... originally, I gave this place 2 stars because of the owner and the coffee (both not so good). However, it is under new ownership and the new owner has created a better atmosphere, stocked better stuff, and has hired some new employees. He is trying to improve the place. This place makes a good latte and a good cappuccino. In terms of coffee, my only complaints are that they use free trade coffee instead of fair or direct trade and the price is a bit high (especially for free trade coffee). In terms of food, the chicken salad is good, but overall, the food is so-so; You get what you pay for; the sandwiches are only around $5-6 each and they taste exactly like what you make at home. I wish the rating system had a "so-so" face option because food and value are "so-so". The food is fine and priced appropriately for the quality. The lattes and cappuccinos are great, but priced slightly high. Great atmosphere.

We stopped in after dinner this weekend. Weve never been before, but I must say this little joint was awesome. Really cool, laid-back, and dare I say hipster atmosphere, but with a lot of older people there, too. Friendly baristas, exquisite (and decadent) hot cocoa and one of the yummiest elephant ear pastries Ive ever had the pleasure of biting in to. They were setting up the place for a live musician who was going to come play, but we ended up leaving before he arrived. This place really made us wish we were Frederick-ites. Being a regular here would not be out of the question if we were!

Consistently my favorite coffee shop in Frederick. Have had the cappuccino, various lattes, and just the standard coffee as well. All are enjoyable. The breakfast sandwiches are great. Oinkin Rooster (everything bagel with sausage, egg, cheese and honey mustard) remains the best breakfast sandwich Ive ever had. My friends very much enjoy the lox sandwich. Ive had a few pastries here which have all been good. Staff is pleasant and service is efficient. Live music many nights. Nothing bad to say. Nothing even average to say. This place is awesome.

Frederick Coffee Co is one of the few places in downtown Frederick that has coffee and WIFI and stays open relatively late. I also appreciate the availability of electrical outlets at most tables. The coffee is also quite tasty, the service is fast, and there is adequate seating. Very minor issue: They do have something weird going on with their WIFI firewall - a lot of common websites wont open at all, while others load super quickly. But overall Frederick Coffee Co is awesome and Ill be sure to come back the next time Im in Frederick.

Wow. The food is phenomenal! HOWEVER, one star for bad coffee, and pisspoor service. I have never been greeted with such hostility as I have here. The barista could barely bother to look up from her phone, let alone a happy hello. Couldnt even respond to my order except to tell me how much I owed! There is no amount of good food that drown out that bad taste. Go somewhere else unless you want to be treated like garbage, I know Ill be taking my money back to Starbucks and their friendly servers!

Not just a coffee shop, they have live music playing in the evenings. It has a bit of a hippie atmosphere. The people inside were older, the people outside were 30 years younger. Interesting dynamic. This was all on a Tuesday evening. Coffee was good enough to drink with just some stevia (they didnt appear to have any stevia, I brought mine). Very pleased with the coffee (house blend, black). Not a cheap place, but interesting.

Love the atmosphere at this local coffee shop and cafe. Food and drink are good too (had an excellent salad). Great place to hold a small business meeting or to network. Relaxed, neighborhood feel. I like Starbucks but that feels corporate compared to the homey feeling at The Frederick Coffee Company & Cafe. Im new in town but I will be frequenting often.

what I like: atmosphere, location, games, broad menu what I dont like: have had several unfriendly baristas, havent had a well-made chai in a year (but I still order it hoping for a better one), the drinks can be pretty expensive. I prefer to support local places, but I would appreciate better service and more attention to how my drinks are prepared.

I love coffee co. I love the food and coming in to waste time with a friend. However I have found that there is a weak link in the chain. There has been one main server who I found to be very rude and generally unpleasant. All the other staff is super friendly, but due to this girl that seems to be cashing me out every time I will not be returning.

Cute little trendy coffee place. Come here with friends, local artists performances, delicious food or warm drinks. Come for be atmosphere, come for the trendy crowd or enjoy the music choice of the employees working. Try the chocolate caterpillar, get some ice for that piping hot drink. Do not expect parking to be a fun time.

Great food and of course the coffee. Try the turtle latte, and the Asian salad for lunch, the French toast fork sandwich for breakfast, or the triple chocolate cake for dessert. The red pepper and Gouda soup is a must on a rainy afternoon. Also plenty of free parking compared to anywhere else downtown.

Snarky entitled hipster batista, with a lovely ironic attitude that not only has trouble distinguishing meat from that of spinach quiche, but also, volumetricly thinks 16 oz should be 12. When asked what the lavender flavor was composed of he said in a super condescending tone, "lavender".

Gem of a place in historic Frederick downtown. Comfy indoor and outdoor seating, live bluegrass on the Sat eve we were there. Coffee is solid (single shot latte and iced coffee). Friendly service. Great place to work (fast wifi, hilarious password) or to socialize.

Love this place! If you havent had their frozen turtle latte, you need to go have it NOW. Best frozen coffee drink Ive ever had. Their food is great as well and their staff is friendly. Its also in a cute location at Shab Row and has a lovely small-town aesthetic.

The owner should be genuine, respectful, and much nicer to people. Especially when he thinks nobody is watching or listening. Also owns the fudge and ice cream place, the pasta place on market, and the juice joint. I avoid them because of what I have experienced.

Great little place downtown to grab a coffee or tea. Have food options as well, i recommend the chocolate cake cheesecake. I have had it twice and super delicious. Also outdoor seating for smokers and non-smokers. Pets are allowed as well on the outdoor patio.

the coffee here sucks. they try to be cool and roast it on the premises however it will always come out burnt and taste bad. the food isnt bad though and its cool that they let you play board games. unfortunately they hate teenagers.

They make a great cappuccino. I enjoy their outdoor patio. Nice view of Shab Row and Everedy Square. I like to come here on weekends with my son and sit outside to read the paper. The new owner is always there and is attentive.
