If I hadnt read all the glowing reviews here I would not have been as let down by this place as I was. It is not a replacement for any Whole Foods Ive ever been to, not even for a Sprouts or an Earth Fare. In comparison its a smallish store with high prices and not a lot of inventory choices. I was especially disheartened by the meat and sea food department as some of the reviews especially mentioned what a fine selection was to be had here. Also the customer service was minimal at best, the guy working the seafood seemed irritated that he had to leave stocking the freezer to weigh me out some tuna, and the girl at the register never missed a beat in her conversation with another worker about what bar tending was like to acknowledge my presence at check out.....wont be driving half an hour to come here again

I always LIKE The Common Market as they offer a Great Selection unlike MOMs whose selection is very very limited! Also thier aisles are labeled making it easy to find what you are looking for. They offer a much far broader spectrum of Homeopathic/Herbs and Supplement products. My Homeopath Dr. Michael Liss shops there when he is seeing patients at his Frederick MD office. Everyone Ive met is very friendly and helpful! Where as the Manager at MOMS can be very rude and insulting which is not only unprofessional but a deterrent to be a returning customer regardless of the free coffee. The Common Market offers everything one would expect at an Organic Market and with GREAT SERVICE! The other PLUS is thier Cafe with Delicious Food and Dessert!

I will start off by saying I think the only reason this place seems pricey is because we have become so used to everything that is mass produced being cheap (I mean really soda being cheaper than water- that is ridiculous). I truly believe that the cost we pay here is nothing compared to how healthy we will be for the years to come. The Common Market is a treasure chest of healthy and delicious products and friendly informative staff. It is hard to get organic grass fed antibiotic cage free meats elsewhere in this area, they support the local farmers which is beneficial to everyone, and their selection is wide enough for all different types of people. I love this place and there should be more places like this available to everyone.

My favorite place to grocery shop. I recently became an owner which has a lot of perks. The staff is always so friendly and very helpful. They usually always have what I need and if they dont, theyll order it for you. My ONE AND ONLY complaint is the other day I was looking for bacon bits as a quick topping for our pizza. I asked a staff member who asked another staff member who said, "Why dont you just cook some bacon and chop it up?" Which is a fine suggestion if it wasnt said sarcastically and I hadnt already thought of that. Looking for quickness that night. So I didnt appreciate that. Every other one of my thousands of experiences there have been very positive.

I have been going to the Common Market since 1992. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful about the products they sell whether it is local/organic produce, cheeses, meats, or supplements. They sell organic, locally grown and produced, and fair trade/direct trade selections of high quality. Their prices are fair and their organic, and fairly traded bulk products are extensive. The cafe makes its own food and beverages including smoothies and juices and is a welcome relief from standard restaurant and fast food fare.

Positive is that the store is in a convenient location. They always have fresh produced. Negatives are i use to love there scones but now they seem to be extremely dry and I found a animal hair coming out of a scone before. When I took it to customer service to show it to them they said yes thats a animal hair, sorry it probably came off of someones clothes. They did offer me my money back or a new scone. Ever since then Ive been totally grossed out.

Regular shopper here. Love the staff and prices are reasonable. Only complaint is that they dont have large-sized fruit yogurt (only vanilla and plain). Go to Wegmans for the best yogurt selection. Stay away from the hot food bar, I used to work here and they dont use bleach in the kitchen to clean. Im glad youre concerned about the environment, but commercial kitchens need proper sanitation practices. My friend has gotten sick here on more than 1 occasion.

Last month, in support of my wife, I did a "21 day cleanse", being off caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy, gluten and soy, for the second week, off meat as well. We had occasionally shopped at the Common Market, but during the cleanse shopped there regularly and I must say, Ive become a "convert". The food there is so fresh and is such good quality, I joined the coop! They also have a wonderful cafe, serving food that both tastes good and is good for you!

Use to work here and now I do most of my shopping here. Produce has a good seasonal selection and local representation. Bulk items, especially spices, are a good value. Good clean meats, and seafood with sustainability ratings. Not a huge place but they carry a wide variety of ingredients for all kinds of cuisine. Frozen section is relatively big, and the Cafes made to order food and hot bar buffet do not disappoint.

I love the deli! They make great juices, sandwiches, & prepared foods. The hot bar is my favorite - great choices for a warm, healthy "home" cooked meal. Theres an dining area with outdoor seating. The eggless egg salad is delicious. They have a good selection of magazines & local greeting cards. Their produce is fantastic & they have events related to cooking & nutrition.

I love this store. Its actually hard to find things that arent organic, which makes my shopping very easy! I also love that they mark both produce and packaged materials that are locally produced. Before moving to Frederick, I shopped almost exclusively at a Whole Foods Market and I thought Id miss Whole Foods terribly. I dont. Ive come to love our local Common Market.

One of our many weekly shopping destinations. Fresh, local and organic produce make our meals delicious. We rest easier knowing that our food was grown or raised without chemicals. Great staff, who will go out of their way to help you. Wonderful hot and cold bar - tasty smoothies and delicious deli makes the Common Market a delight to visit for a lunch or dinner.

Best selection of organic products in Frederick. The produce is ALWAYS beautiful; the seafood is always fresh. The salad bar has prepared foods including the best soup youll ever taste. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially in the supplement aisle. If they dont have what youre looking for (anywhere in the store) theyll order it.
