Lures is not so alluring any longer. We made our first visit back to Lures last night for the first time since its expansion. We have always enjoyed coming out for their different sandwiches, excellent beers and the upbeat atmosphere. It was packed, being a Friday night. For an appetizer, we ordered the peorgis ($8.99) and they appeared to be the frozen Mrs. T types that had been boiled up and then had a few stray onions thrown on top, Heck at least pan fry them if you are going to serve non-homemade ones - very disappointing. I ordered the Sushi Tuna sandwich which in the menu described it at being seared on the outside and sushi like in the inside. I have ordered this sandwich before and it has always been a real winner. This time around it arrived blackened (and cold) as if it had been pre-made and thrown back in the fridge for a quick serve. The fries were excellent - hot with old bay seasoning on them. I also ordered a side of broccoli - it was literally a bowl of frozen broccoli zapped in the microwave and served up. No seasoning, not even a dab of butter - Terrible! My husband ordered the Ultimate Turkey sandwich which had turkery, havarti, apple-wood bacon, avocado , lettuce and tomato. The problem was it arrived sans bacon or avocado. SO- the very friendly waitress when she finally had a chance to check on us, found us sitting and not eating and was quite embarrassed and very apologetic for the fiasco of food sitting before us. The manager came back with new meals for us. THIS time around, the tuna was an overcooked mess, and hard as a rock. I was too tired to complain again, at least my husband got his bacon. So this meal along with two beers and a flight of beers (at least they couldnt mess those up) was a whoppoing $65.00 and NOTHING was taken off the bill for our horrendous experience. Lures you are heading towards a shipwreck , its great you have expanded, but you need to get your kitchens and managers acts together.

This place came highly recommended from a local so I was with my family and very excited to try out the place. We got sat quickly outside. Lots of interesting menu options and nice ambiance. Then our Waitress came to our table (Ill avoid using names) and provided the WORST customer service Ive ever experienced in a restaurant. She informed our table she was "Really busy" as soon as she greeted us. She rushed us the entire meal and this is the worst part. I asked her what she recommended and she replied "Are you kidding me?" because apparently I was supposed to care how much of a rush she was in and not allowed to ask questions. Then I found a piece of hair in my crab cake sandwhich, that about killed this restaurant for me. Horrible wait staff, and wear a cap (Kitchen team) to avoid fallen hairs! What a bad way to end what started out as a great day-Dont even bother going.

For the record i do not dislike this place. In fact my wife and I like it normally. So much so that we decided tonight on our seven year anniversary we would come here and have dinner/dessert. The staff was awesome as usual but, we were really disappointed in all of our food. From our undercooked muscles to my wifes over cooked brussel sprouts. The whole meal was filling but not satisfying at all. We got a to go box and decided to leave it. We were so disappointed we did not get dessert and we debated the whole way home whether we would give Lures another shot. In the end our prior experiences won out and we will probably chalk this one up to training a new cook or someone calling out sick or something. Overall we like Lures but tonight they didnt have it for us and it made for a sad seven year anniversary. Heres to next time and I hope it works out better then.

This is my go-to bar. Friendly staff, good food, great beer selection. This is the place I recommend all my out of town friends go, the place I suggest new beer friends go, the place I suggest for just getting a casual drink. They have some parking struggles but with a full lot and an overflow thats more a testament to their overwhelming success as a bar and restaurant than a failure on their part. Having spoken with the staff they cannot get more parking due to a zoning issue and even if they did get more parking there wouldnt be enough room inside. This place is just good enough that its packed out from about 5 - 8 PM daily. If you want dinner during those times, make a reservation. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. In particular, I really enjoy my interactions with Sean not that any of the staff are bad.

I have been there twice, both times for lunch, in the past month. Both times we ate at the bar. The ambiance is fine. Busy at lunch time and then quiets down. Its never raucus, although I expect it could get that way at happy hour, where beer samplers (four 5 ounce samples are $4.) are a great way to go and find your favoriet. Outside of happy hour the samplers are $8. The menu is quite varied and imaginative. Salads are large and other dishes have portions on the larger side, also. I had the Portabello/veggie sandwich and it was quite tasty. Better than the similarly named sandwiches Ive had elsewhere. Service is quite pleasant and quick. Every server/bartender is willing to spend some time with you and make the visit enjoyable. I think this is a great place to go.

My experience at Lures is very good, the hostess Jade was very nice. My waitress Angilia was very sweet. Their uniform was perfect for a little casual bar and grill such as this. I had the wild caught rock fish, the dish made me wanna go rock fishing the next day. My girlfriend had the twin crab cakes which she claims the only reason she didnt eat it all was because it was very filling and very delicious. To be honest I wasnt use to new Belgium fat tire ale in a can but I got over that very quickly. Dont let the fact this place is across the street from the old hospital or what seems to be a little high price scare you. This place is very good, very well mannered, safe and friendly for any family. I will definitely be back!

Pulled into the parking lot, and was guided to an area were I looked for a spot. We didnt have a reservation but was told it would only be an hour wait.Looking into the dinning area I see 4/5 tables available and were for over 10 minutes empty.i was told the bar was open seating. Found a spot and order one special BBQ ribs, these were pre cooked with no seasoning other then BBQ sauce that was brushed on top and that is what it taste like too. The green beans were alsome, carb soup was old not fresh at all. The other dish a seafood/pasta dish a standard on the menu it smelled like old frozen seafood with a cooked egg on top. I have been here before and had a good meal maybe they had an off day?? Thanks
