We were treated very well in the beginning of the evening - a nice woman checked our coats and seated us near the bar. Another woman took our drink order. Cocktails were great. Give the Bourbon and House Cola a try, you wont be sorry. My fiance had the Pot Roast and we almost cried over the Polenta. It was creamy and dreamy. I ordered the Hanger Steak, medium rare. I loved it - a little too rare for most people, but I thought it was great. Our server was a champ - he waited on all of the patrons upstairs. He refolded our napkins each time we got up from our seats, replaced our silverware and kept our glasses full. Great job guy! We were a bit disappointed in another server we encountered later in the evening. We were waiting to get our coats back and she was a bit of an ice queen. Not once did she ask us if we needed assistance. It was very different from the way we were treated in the beginning of the evening. We were not happy about being ignored (especially after dropping over a hundo on dinner), but the friendly bartender was kind enough to help us and he ended our evening with a few good laughs. We would most definitely go back, but were holding onto our coats just in case the we see the ice queen again.

My wife and I went for our Anniversary. Expensive but worth the hype! Service is extremely gracious and efficient like clockwork. Menu set up for tasting where you pick courses is wonderful. We had 3 courses each, plus dessert, complimentary amuse bouche and bread - and left full. Even though courses are small, ingredients are rich so 3-4 courses is probably the way to go unless youre famished. Food is really well done across the board. One thing that really sets Charleston apart is the wine list & pairings. I have been in the wine business 10 years and looking at the list is a dream come true of insider favorites that you just wont find elsewhere: from 30 Year Amontillado with 1st course to 1996 Blandys Madeira with dessert, these are wines chosen by someone who knows & is passionate about finding wines that really over-deliver. Any steakhouse can buy big name & charge big price, but Charleston excels at finding gems.

Husband and I walked here from our hotel on the harbor, and we both really enjoyed our meals! The cast iron crab cake and wagyu burger were delicious. One of the most interesting cocktail menus I have seen. The dessert menu was also really unique, but unfortunately we were too stuffed from the generous dinner servings. The service was absolutely impeccable. We were a little worried about possibly being under-dressed beforehand (we were wearing nice t-shirts and jeans) but didnt feel out of place at all once we got there and saw the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Props for very stylish decor as well. Thanks for a great meal!

The food and cocktails here are good. Theyre not life-changing, but they get the job done. I went once for dinner after finishing the Bar exam nearby, and I thoroughly enjoyed that meal (but was also pretty out of it, so I cannot remember what I ordered or give an honest assessment). Meanwhile, I went once for brunch/lunch while waiting for a room at another hotel to finally become available. While I vaguely remember my dinner being good and hitting a happy spot, but my brunch was not memorable. All in all, it falls in the generally good category. Id give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Two hours for soup and salad during lunch. Tables around us ate and left before our salads arrived about an hour and a half after we did. The wrong food was delivered to one of us along with attitude from wait staff when asked to correct. It was not particularly busy. Soup was extremely bland. Flat bread is a poor interpretation of a pizza. Will not return. Too bad b/c this place has one of the best bartenders in the city....

This restaurant was the highlight of my stay at the Monaco. Had breakfast there both days. The breakfast was superb and the service was exceptional. Sat downstairs one day and upstairs the next. The food was great and cooked to perfection. The waitresses were very friendly and not overbearing at all. The ambiance for the evening was incredible. Even if you are not staying at the Monaco its a great place to stop in and enjoy

A very nice atmosphere and a well laid-out locale give you a place you feel very comfortable at, as you wait for your food. And wait, you will. It’s a sad thing to see such a nice place, with a delicious menu suffer from badly-trained and rude staff. They seem more preoccupied in talking to each other than serving tables, often seeing people approach the bar themselves to ask for a refill or for something in the menu.

Great environment, service and food! They had unique drink specials made from local alcohols. The oysters were probably the best Ive had with enough added to them to distinguish them but not overwhelm the taste of the oyster. Finally the lamb dish was very good. Cooked well and the bed of cheese, olives, and grains it was on was a great mix of flavors. All of this comes at a price, but you get what you pay for.

Called to inquire about their Easter Sunday brunch. The young woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, and asked me in a very indignant tone "What about the Sunday brunch??" If the phone service is bad, I dont even want to experience the other customer services. As an employee of one of our City agencies, I would be embarrassed to recommend this establishment to my work colleagues and my friends.

Our last night in Baltimore” This was a planned dinner for our last night in Baltimore; a beaut write up that did not disappoint. The food was great (Short Rib Sliders to share; two of the Basted Scallops, and a Black Forest Bete Noire to share) washed down with a jar of Line State Punch. Food was great, service from Ashley was attentive but not intrusive. All told a great experience, well go back soon :)

I really regret eating at B&O. The wait staff argued with each other throughout the night. The flat bread I ordered was under cooked. Service was so bad, two men in business suits had to get up from their table and go to the bar to get their drinks refilled. I felt more like a hostage than a patron and was glad to leave. No worries Kimpton, I will not be back.

Chef Mike caters to gluten free people! Woohoo! Thanks so much for the phenomenal taste sensation of those lightly pickled carrot strips with those perfectly seared scallops! And the Potatoes! Wow. Perfectly seasoned. All cooked with love! My husband loved his burger too. :-) If you want food made by people who care, eat here! It just doesnt get much better!

Linwoods is a wonderful restaurant. We dont live in Baltimore, so always try to have dinner there when were in town. The spinach salad was delicious and large enough that we split it. The artichoke app was divine. Our entrees were branzini, calves liver and sea bass. All were excellent and cooked perfectly as requested. Well look forward to our next visit.

We dine at Charleston as often as we can, which means special occasions, because it is a dining experience and the experience is worth the price. I feel so fortunate to live just north of downtown Baltimore so that I can enjoy special occasions here. From the moment you arrive at the restaurant, you know that your evening at Charleston...
