overall it was a good experience except one situation that couldnt be ignored. at around 5pm saturday afternoon a woman and her two very obnoxious children entered the outside bar area where there are two person hanging rope chairs instead of regular bar stools for paying adults to use.its a cute concept and very attractive for outside seating.the lady sat her two children in a one of the chairs and proceeded to order a glass of wine and food for her kids.a bartender not knowing who she was very politely ask that she not have her children at the bar because it was against policy to do so. the woman proceeded to let the bartender know she was the owners wife and that is was ok so the bartender politely backed off and served them.not only were the kids loud and disruptive but they fell out of the chairs a couple of time by swinging back and forth losing their balance.i watched this go on for about two hours.not only was this rude to other patrons at the bar but, also cost the bar and bartenders money. as this seat was occupied I witnessed at least four couple enter the outside bar looking up and down to see if any of these seats were available but there were none.the whole time this two person was occupied by aggravating none paying customers good money could have been generated by happy paying customers who tip the bartenders who deserve a fair shake. this woman who ate free and was pretty demanding didnt even tip the the bartenders one cent.as she left she simply asked their names as though she was going to put in a good word for them with their boss.words dont pay these bartenders bills. what a joke. who wants to sit at a bar and deal with that crap. most people sit at the bar to get away from that for awhile and relax.lets get it right! great food/great drinks/great staff/rude and inconsiderate owners wife!!!

Undecided. First time visitor. Went with wife and kids at lunch. Great atmosphere. Really nice concept. Good service. Pricing is acceptable. Food was mediocre. The tacos ranged from good to average. My side of mash potatoes had so much salt that I did not eat more than a couple bites. I had one item on my plate that my wife and I agreed was simply foul and inedible. The jerk veggies were good. The fried plantains were good. The rice was OK. The kids chicken plates were average. Their French fries were good. We did not drink. My wife and I intend to go back for dinner and drinks one night without the kids and try some of the other menu items as we have several friends that rave about it. It is certainly worth at least one visit or in my case, one more. Been a few times now. Have gone with couples. Have gone with family. Have gone with couples with families. I stick to the main popular tacos and drinks and have no complaints now. Its a good concept. I like the atmosphere and seating.

Came here for my birthday..worst mistake. After being told we couldnt make reservations at all ( we called a day or two before we went) we got there to only receive a 15 minute wait.We were seated at one table and then moved to outside where they had NO FANS OR LIGHTS on a humid night! Our waitresses shift ended in the middle of drinks and ordering so we had to give my whole partys order over again to a new waitress who was obviously intimidated by me and my friends. After poking around plates of bland food which we could barely see due to horrible lighting and sfter seeing a couple of outdoor roaches scatter across our table and feeling like my birthday dinner was in shambles I got my table moved BACK inside where I wanted to be in the first place! The food fails horribly for Caribbean cuisine and I was very disappointed, under seasoned and not hot.We pretty much just sang happy birthday ate cake and left!No to go boxes needed!

The menu is somehow both limited and expansive with nearly all items a delight. I have yet to order a plate meal instead opting for the mix-and-match taco menu ordered as two, three, or four tacos of your choosing. The number of side items differs with each combo. It is a ridiculous amount of food! The appetizers are also very tasty and varied. If you are hungry enough it would be possible to slip into a food coma before leaving the table. I have never had room for dessert so cant speak to that. The rum drinks are robust and quite tasty. It would be possible to range from the sweet fruitiness of rum punches to drier rum drinks. Beer selection is limited but you probably didnt come to "The Rum House" to drink beer. Well worth a visit! If you are just out to enjoy a lazy afternoon be sure to get one of the swing chairs at the outdoor bar.

Went for lunch on Sunday for the first time (unfortunately no breakfast options to call it brunch) and loved it. Their cocktails are very unique and they have a huge rum selection (as you can imagine.) I tried the Funky Monkey frozen cocktail. They might as well call it an adult milkshake. Very tasty! I then couldnt decide on 3 tacos for the Trifecta so got the Mr Biggs plate and took some home. Loved the duck one. Also really liked how unique the others were too: the fried oyster one was my second favorite, then lamb vindaloo then seared scallop. My friend got the nachos appetizer as an entree and it is MASSIVE. The meat had a great flavor. Lastly, the ambiance was cool. By far the nicest looking bar chairs Ive ever seen. They practically looked like recliners! The patio looks like it will be great for cooler weather too.

I love this place! The food is fantastic and its a great place to try if your looking for a new experience away from standard restaurants. I enjoy the crab melt sandwich and the queso. The suspended swings at the outside patio bar make for a fun big kid/adult experience. Erin the bartender is super sweet and has a great personality, Danny the server has a great sense of humor and does an awesome job serving. The staff is very friendly and the food is authentically delicious. I highly recommend eating here! Great overall experience!!

CARIBBEAN, FOOD FROM LATAM? I get it, tropical countries are "Mexico" too. Comprendo. But if youre going to advertise this place as Caribbean ... please have some sort of Mexican-Caribbean food. When my friend took me to have some "tropical" food I got really excited. But não é tropical. E não fiquei feliz. Im proud to be Tropical (Yes, it is a Thing), but they have NO tropical food. makes me sad. Sad. Really sad. Im inly giving them 4 stars because they tacos were good. But I didnt come here to have tacos.

The food is excellent every time I go, the service too. There were 3 in our party. One had the damn good nachos, one had the chicken and black bean quesadilla (both are actually appetizers) and I had the BBQ ribs. All were excellent. The atmosphere is fun and we love the food. A shout out goes to Tia, our server! Rum House can be crowded during peak times due to its popularity. Ive never had a problem getting seated right away because I go a little after or a little before peak times.
