To start off the beer selection is impeccable, its almost overwhelming until you realize that the staff is more than qualified to help you in choosing a draft. Another thing I noticed instantly was the ambiance and music. In the hour or so I was here I heard foo fighters, black keys, the killers, the Beatles, cake and nirvana just to name a few. Now let me get to the food, I asked the waiter what was his choice off the menu...his pick was the burger. To be honest I was skeptical at first because almost every bar/restaurant will tell you there burger is amazing, and this burger was spectacular! Its obviously ground almost daily and grilled to perfection, plus the 9 different cheeses to choose from. I will recommend this place to everyone I meet while Im in the area and will definitely continue to frequent while Im still here. Hats off Pelican House, hats off.

I called ahead on a Sunday afternoon and asked them what time they closed and they said 10pm. I asked if their kitchen closed early and he said yes at 9. So I then told him that we would be coming in around 8:15 with a group of people and he said ok great! We arrive at 8:20 pm and they turned the music off, then told us that if we wanted to order food it was only 5 things we could choose from and we would have to come to the bar to order. They were very rude, and didnt seem like they wanted to make any money so thats what happened. We left. I have eaten here before and their food was good but service is the worst. Dont recommend this place at all.

Me and my sister went on a Thursday night. The bartender was RUDE. Like, we were wondering what could we possibly have done for this guy to be treating us so badly. We got there and asked if we could have two beers and he looked at us with a straight face and told us no. We couldnt tell if he was maybe being sarcastic so we smiled like really? And he was so annoyed to tell us that the beer we wanted had run out. We had to pretty much beg him for a recommendation and he acted like we were pulling his teeth. The beers we ended up getting were great even though it was the worst service of my entire life.

This was the worst experience we have ever had with reserving a restaurant for an event. We thought when we reserve a building for thousands of dollars and we have 200 people showing up that the building would be closed for just us. We were WRONG! Can you say nightmare ?! 3 other events were going on while ours was there. They took over the bar and other areas and we were forced to put people outside. Luckily it was not terribly cold. Horrible management. Absolutely horrible. Will be taking our business elsewhere for any other company event we hold.

We just had a rehearsal there Friday night, for 50 people, and they didn an excellent job. Tim, their events manager, was very accommodating, and a pleasure to work with, coordinating the event. A big shout out to him! The wait staff and bartender were excellent... very nice, and very efficient! Food, drinks, ambiance, the outdoor patio, the games... really, it was just perfect! Everyone had nothing but great things to say. Needless to say, I would highly recommend them for any event!

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The "7 Napkin French Fries" with added pork belly were very good. The turkey and pork belly club was excellent. Our only complaint was that about half of the beers/whiskeys we ordered from the menu were not in stock. Our waitress explained that this was because they had just opened and were still working on completing their inventory, so hopefully this wont be a lasting problem. Overall a great experience- I would definitely go back!

This is by far the best bar in Baton Rouge. The only thing better than the beer and whiskey selection is the food! Fried Green Tomatoes and Shrimp and Grits are dishes that I try everywhere I go in the South and this place NAILED IT. For a bar, it has some mighty fine eats.. and even for brunch. I have a few microbrews that I love, and I can only find them here. I eat and drink something new every time I go and am always more than pleased.

The server and the service are horrible! Visited this location on a Sunday for brunch with a party of 4. Waited over an hour and a half for my food. Only for the server to come to the table and ask me if I wanted something else. Then she proceeded to give the excuse that I had the last waffle and the kitchen staff burned it so it will no longer be available. I think this is utterly ridiculous!!! I would not recommend this place ever!!

The atmosphere is great, plenty of TVs for watch sports or other events. The Floorplan is great and seating doesnt feel over crowded. The beer selection used to be incredible, but has really fallen off, even 20 or so taps have been removed completely. Great bar but seems to be headed in the wrong direction. Also, its overpriced vs other local bars that have similar selections.

Awesome restaurant, I was almost crying of joy when I sat down and the music playing was Deftones, Foo Fighters, ect, it seems impossible to enjoy that kinda music anywhere. The food were great and the beers too, great service and everything, I had the best time in a long time! That quickly faded away when some annoying trivia came up, and all the music suddenly sucked.

Good beer selection and good food. The one beef I have about the place is that it is too big. There are usually only 30-40 customers there on a weeknight and it feels really weird to sit in such a big space without a crowd. The smaller bar area is a very cool place to hang though.

It was super fun and a great section on beer. My problem was they lost my tab and only charged me for a beer and shot and I payed that in cash checked my account the next day and they ran my card for two separate transactions without my knowing. So look at your accounts after leaving

Went here on Friday night. $5 cover for the live music. Great selection of both local, statewide, and international brews on tap. $5-7 a pint for most or get tasters for $1.5 - 2 each. Bar service was knowledgeable and helped us find brews we loved. Didnt have food this trip.

A great addition to BRs beer and whiskey scene. They have an impressive selection of beer and whiskey at good prices, bar tending staff is knowledgable about their alcohol which is a huge plus. Great food, and they do a lot of fun events. Will continue to go back.

Love the location. Great beer selection with lots of variety each time you visit. The bar food menu isnt huge, but you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend the cereal crusted chicken tenders. And dont forget to try Sunday brunch. Its delicious!

A bar with an entrance fee should not exist. But ok, I was willing to pay, but they did not accept credit cards. I cannot believe that there are places like this one that do not accept credit cards, in America in century XXI.
