Buyer beware! Tried to use my Louisville Originals gift card tonight at Cafe Lou Lou and they refused it. Said their computer systems were no longer compatible. Sounded lame. Not sure these gift cards from Louisville Originals are reliable...It was given to me as a birthday gift...I sure as heck will not buy one after this experience tonight. The food and service were good at Café Lou Lou but they should not be a part of Louisville Originals if they will not honor the card! We will not be going back to Café Lou Lou nor ever buy a Louisville Originals gift card. Wonder how many other restaurants on the Louisville Originals list do not take the cards?

For my money, which I am very partial to, this is the BEST restaurant in Louisville!!! When I am in town for a week I will eat here at least five times. The chicken porta bella roll is a MUST! The BBQ chicken pizza is the best I have had anywhere. They bake their bread fresh everyday so dont forget the sandwiches and calzones! I really enjoy the warm, family atmosphere and amazing art work! Oh yeah, dont forget the full bar, amazing wine and the best beer selection in the city! Clay and family really know their stuff. If I could just figure out how to ship this amazing food to Florida I would be a happy camper!

The food was good, but the restaurant is hard to find, tucked behind a bank. When we were there, we told the waitress that we were waiting for one more person to show up, but she kept asking if we were ready to order. We ordered an appetizer, but the last person still didnt arrive (he couldnt find the restaurant). It wasnt crowded, but we eventually felt pressured enough to put in our order before the last person arrived because our waitress asked again and again if we were ready. So, while the food was fine, I didnt appreciate being pressured when there were numerous open tables.

Decent food, decent price, nice atmosphere. Unfortunately when we went, our waitress kept asking if we were ready to order even though we told her several times we were waiting for someone else to arrive. The restaurant was not busy and many tables were still available, so we werent sure what the rush was. Eventually, we felt so pressured that we went ahead and ordered. Our food arrived before the fourth member of our party arrived. Still, the food is good and Id recommend this place for lunch or dinner... Just be sure your whole party is there.

$9 for a 10oz beer....... Messed up our order, took 15 minutes to bring a plate of hummus that was just scooped out of prepared container bc you could still see the indentions of an ice cream scoop on the side. $70 for a lunch and it was below average food. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Ive had the exact same beer at multiple restaurants in Louisville and got 16 Oz for less money. No wonder it was a ghost town in there.....

I always enjoy Cafe Lou Lou, I have been a fan since they were in the original Frankfort Ave spot. We had a large party of 15 there this past weekend and all of my guests (most of whom had never been there before) were pleased. it also seems to be the only place around that everyone in my office can agree on for our holiday lunches- its our go-to spot and theres something for everyone. Great service, great food, great experience.

Used to buy Cobb salads here 2-3 times a week. Noticed the quality was dropping. The final straw was when they gave me a salad with a rotten, blackened avocado on it. I swore off them for an entire year. Today I decided to give them another chance. Before leaving with my salad I opened it up to check on it. Sitting atop my salad was a clearly and visibly rotten avocado. I will never go back.

Went with my grandsons for breakfast. Waitress Kari brought iced water and menus. I requested water - no ice. She promptly huffed, poured the iced water back in the pitcher and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Chocolate milk, apple juice and coffee was my reply. No ice please in apple juice. We dont put ice in childrens...

Service was fantastic, no complaints with wait, or wait staff. Food however was lackluster, menu suffers from trying to be a few too many things at once. Nothing was inherently wrong with it, in fact the calzones and wraps looked very good. However the Cajun fare was a bit bland. Fuller flavors were expected.

Great atmosphere, lively and colorful. The owners and staff are like your long lost friends - really. I find the portions to be substantial and often two can have one entree and both be satisfied. And the bar is very well stocked. BE SURE to make reservations if going for dinner. Its a VERY popular place.

The staff was friendly. The food came out in 5-7 minutes at the most, was incredible, and is incredible once again. I am currently eating leftovers as I type, which there is much of because my Italian Meatball Pzone was delightfully epic in proportion and cheesy/meatbally beyond my hopes/dreams.

Interior is nice. Drink selection is great. Menu, especially pizza, is awesome. I just always feel like I spent a little more than I wanted. Still a great place to take your family, a date or a lunch meeting. I guess price is my only knock.

Very nice atmosphere and service but the calzone was a huge mess. It was such a hassle to eat, it was 90% sauce which made trying to eat it even messier. The cheese pizza tasted just fine though and was quite nice. But not worth returning.

The base of the dish is a hearty serving of red potatoes. Topped with chorizo sausage, green chili, green onions, fresh tomatoes& shredded cheddar cheese! Simply amazing!… To top it off for dessert I had a turtle brownie! OMG! Wow!

Stand out menu combines the chefs experiences in Louisville and Louisiana (Lou Lous). Best wraps in town, try them toasted. Mezze plate appetizer can serve as a meal. Shrimp & Grits and pizzas are some of the best in town.

I had a mix up on a delivery order and they took care of it immediately without question. Their food is amazing from all that Ive tried, and with customer service like I received, Ill keep coming back again and again!

Service was horrible. Had to beg for refills, my husband finally got up and refilled them for us. Food was average not worth the price. I was so disappointed I had heard such good things. Zero desire to return.

I cant say it was that good. I have never been to the St. Matthews location, hopefully it was a fluke. $15 for a salad and a lemonade it should be something to write home about. It just wasnt.

Good selection of tasty foods at a good price. Very child friendly with a good kids menu. Frequently order carry out. Sad the Highlands location closed, it was more convenient for us.

Had lunch. Attentive waiter but would be nice to have some warm bread or garlic toast saved with pasta entree. Not a very substantial portion for $12. Probably wont be back for lunch.

This is a relaxing, quaint place to eat a great tasting salad and have good conversation with friends. The bread pudding was absolutely delicious! as I had heard. I will be returning.
