The food was great. The service was horrible. The server wasnt just BAD (not refilling our water, the soda lemonade I ordered took 10 minutes to get to the table and our spring rolls were sent to a different table and we never got them, but were still charged.) The server was also RUDE. Didnt apologize over the spring rolls and had an ATTITUDE that I could make some conjectures about but wont here. So I didnt leave a tip. Which is a rare thing for me to do, but felt totally justified here. So WHY was there an extra $3 on my card when I checked my bank statement? Go to Vietnam Kitchen. The food is good, service was good and they were HONEST.

Its a great "whole in the wall" type of cafe in a great neighborhood. Nice, large selection on the menu. Currently, there are 16 vegetarian items on the menu... which I love. On the down side, the service is a little robot-like. Not sure if it is a language barrier or not. My party was given menus, served, and paid the bill all with no more than a total of ten words from the entire staff. No smile either. (A smile goes a long way.) It was not bad service by any means... just average. Nice, clean restaurant. Theres a mix of tables & booths. Ill probably return again as there are more menu items Id like to try.

Annie herself served me. The best Pho in Louisville, in my opinion. There are many types of Pho but my favorite is the Pho Chin. It has the typical noodles, and broth with thin strips of beef. You get a side plate full of limes, fresh jalapenos, sprouts and basil that you can add to the soup as you like. If you want it spicy, add some Sriracha sauce to it, just a little. Its that squeeze bottle on the table with the Rooster symbol on it. Its a thick red chilli sauce with garlic added. It will knock your socks off!

The food was good, but the service was horrible. We were sitting for 15 minutes after we were done eating and the the waiter just stood at the register ignoring us. He managed to mess up the orders for the two other tables in the restaurant, the only other tables. My husband had to go to the resister to get our togo bowl and bill. The togo bowl was to small and only fit half of the soup left, yet the waiter refused to give us a bigger bowl. We won't be back.

The food was good. The service was horrible. The waitress was texting on her cell phone while she took orders. Then she switched with a different waiter. He had a major attitude. When we were done he just looked at us. I had to go up to the counter and ask for a Togo container for the Pho. He brought me a tiny container. I told him I didnt think it fit all the soup. He told me "Im sure it will". It didnt fit. I do not recommend going to that place at all.

this places staff/supporters post fake bad reviews for their competition, and fake good reviews for themselves. annie cafe also has a grand total of 2 vegetarian dishes, both of which are boring and average. burnt tofu and dry rice? i could make that at home. in all honesty, vietnam kitchen blows this place out of the water. this place is only worth going to if VK is closed.

So, basically you left a 1-star review because you dont like some of the reviews below and decided you would balance it out even though you make no mention of the food and one can assume you never even ate there. I have eaten there and at Vietnam Kitchen both many times and enjoy both. The review of Cong is the only thing despicable on this page.

I read about this place on the Courier Journal and decided to try it. I love pho and this was one of the best Ive had. Annie was friendly and the service was quick. The place is clean and reminded me a lot of the places I use to go back in Southeast Asia. The prices were very reasonable. We will be going back there for sure.

It is good but with the Vietnamese Kitchen just a few minutes away this place should really step up their game. Updated:: locked in for several minutes 45 minutes before posted closing. They have a lock keyed on both sides of the door and could not find the key. Seems like the fire marshal would not like this very much.

Ordered two of the same dish for my partner and I. They only brought out one, so Im sitting here having an unnecessary argument about whether she should eat in front of me or let her meal go cold while I wait for mine that they never bothered to cook.

I loved the food here! The portions were surprisingly big so I had plenty of left overs to take home for lunch the next day. I loved the cute layout of the restaurant. It was very relaxed and calm.

Louisville has some of the best pho of any city I have visited and Annie Cafe is the best I tried. I really like the hand-cut beef which leaves the pieces thicker so you notice the tenderness.
