The place has been recently renovated, and is now run by new owners, lets just say, before it looked like somebody pooped on the ceiling and then used the walls as toilet paper. The floor seemed to have been used by some sort of gargantuan animal that used the floor in unnatural ways. Another horrible aspect was the food, I think it was food at least, but it tasted more like canned food. But now EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED!!! Got a new paint job, got rid of the old ceiling and the gargantuan animal has been relocated. To a better place. Where it feels no pain. Ok, on to the new and improved EVERYTHING!!!! New Pop machine Coffe machine HAS 21 BUTTONS AND A SCREEN!!! (by the way, the coffe is amazing) Finally the most important aspect of all... the food. I have had the burgers (THEY ARE BEAST!)(that means really good!) I have had the fried chicken (I dont like chicken, but THIS STUFF IS AMAZING) What else did I have??? The breakfast sandwich (like the previous reviewer stated) Is phenomenal! I could go on for a while, but you get the Idea, there has not been a single morsel of food I have ever disliked from the NEW NORTH SIDE CAFE! Hope this helps you decide if you would like to eat at there!! (oh and by the way, Clint Eastwood filmed some of the movie "The Bridges of Madison County" there!!!)

Went at the suggestion of a brother Knight from Winterset. Since we were going to be passing through on our way to State Convention it seemed like a good place to stop for breakfast. The atmosphere: This place is really neat! old style booths in the side where the movie was filmed (Bridges of Madision County) and tables in a room with quilts and old piano. Food: Food was amazing. Eggs Benedict was perfection poached farm fresh eggs with rich yellow yoke, hollandause sauce made you say yum, Pancake was the size of a 12" plate (way to much for a person to eat), French toast was huge. Only issue was they dont do fried eggs - they told us that upfront - my wife got hers poaches medium and said it was as good as fried Staff: Our gal we were told was one the owners but another gal. She was amazingly sweet to us picky old timers and even though it was busy we had our food in under 10 minutes. Several other gals stopped by asking if we needed coffee or water Overall: No place is perfect, but in a world where everything is made cheap and fast and staff dont want to smile, this place seemed close We will be back for lunch!

Winterset was in for a very pleasant surprise when the rustic Northside Cafe was renovated and revamped last year. While maintaining the homely, quaint burgers-n-fries style Winterset remembers, the Northside brought a touch of European flair to their menu. Now you can order Nutella Crepes alongside your Eggs and Hashbrowns, and fried catfish as a side for your chicken sandwich. To drink they have everything from Coke to Caramel Mochas with Himalayan Salt. So far, every dish Ive tried is delicious, fresh, and satisfying. And the desserts are phenomenal! The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, and the large dining room further inside is decorated in a adventurously rugged but elegant style. The service is efficient and friendly. Since the Northside is owned by a local family, its likely youll see the owner dishing up your meal to be served by their family members! I would certainly encourage you to give the Northside a try! But a word of warning, when you go once, you wont be able to stop going back!

Went in with a big group, was told to be there by the time our reservation was for and that everyone should be there. They continued to set up for a larger party than us that was not all there at there reservation time, so we had to wait 20 minutes. On top of this they were not splitting checks this day so we had to divvy it up on our own, then the owner questioned the tip amount we left. Well !!! If you did split checks each of us would have tipped individually and most likely would have been a very good tip. I was floored to find out they questioned our tip amount in the first place. We wont return the next time our group is in Winterset for an event. Thanks to the new management.

My husband and I visited the Cafe on our anniversary trip to Winterset to tour the Bridges of Madison County a few years ago and as any fan of the movie would, we had to eat at the Cafe. The Hot Caramel Apple Cider and Grilled Banana and Nutella Sandwich was the perfect combination of comfort food and something different on a chilly October day. The service was friendly and fast. While we dont plan on visiting Winterset again as it was a special trip, if we ever did, wed be sure to visit the Cafe again!

Good food, fair good prices, great atmosphere & I ♡ the cup with picture of Clint Eastwood sitting at the counter from the movie Bridges of Madison County. While I was young child my aunt and uncle ran the pool hall just few doors down, and I lived with them for few years after my moms passing -we often eat at the North side dinner. I ♡ the fact that the dinner hasnt changed in its overall appearance.

Feel-good food in the town square of Winterset. Be sure to try the daily "Iowa Comfort Food" selections from the menu and a slice of whatever dessert they are serving. Everything is tasty and reasonably priced. Staff is extraordinarily friendly and attentive. And dont forget to get a selfie sitting at the bar stool occupied by Clint Eastwood in "Bridges of Madison County" while youre here.

Really nice home - town cafe with an upscale menu. The pork tenderloins are HUGE! (and delicious). Comfortable booths or nice spacious tables so that seating is not cramped. Everything here is homeade including the mashed potatoes. The pie looks wonderful but I was much too full to try it. Next time I am trying the jerk seasoned burger with pineapple and red peppers. Yum!

Great place and great food. Prices are reasonable too and the service is very good. I wasnt too impressed with their selection of beer but its not really that kind of restaurant anyway. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good breakfast or lunch and do come here often.

Wonderful small town cafe with great dishes and unique cafe feel that you dont get in a larger city. Walter and crew do a great job of making you feel at home so stop in to see them and sample some of their menu items! Bruce McCann General Fire & Safety

Holy Tenderloin! This place rocks! The decor is very small town, well preserved feeling with great (and I mean the best Ive ever eaten) tenderloin sandwiches. Prices are reasonable, service is great and the atmosphere is rocking. HIGHLY recommend.

古老的建筑,在市政厅对面。和善,安静的人们。消费不贵,食物比较可口,就餐或咖啡的好去处。
