Everything we tried was excellent here. I wanted to go with the Ramen because the 5 mintue egg and the ramen sounded so good. But the waiter suggested the Embutido. It was a special of the day. It is Filipino meatloaf over rice topped with Foie Gras, spam, rice, golden raisin coulis, beer stout jam. It was delicious!. My wife got a dish with little fried chicken thigh, cliantro, red pepper, rice and onion. Wow, that one had so many textures and flavors that I cant describe. The place is nice on the inside, but a little small, but go there to eat and not for the elbow room! We finished the meal with a fried dough with cinnamon, sugar and a custard like topping. The menu also varies a bit, so always check or call to check specials.

So I have seen a few negative reviews of this place. Mostly to do with there limited menu or basically the menu is scary to them. Honestly the menu is limited because the want to do what they do and dont right. Plus they change it often apparently. Now as for the scary bit. Look at the menu before going if you think it sounds gross dont go. But if you like food that is imaginative and well prepared with bits that are not "normal" in American cooking. This place rocks. Yes the eggs are cooked by putting a raw egg on hot food. Yes that means it is not completely cooked. Yes that is also what makes the dish fantastic! Go to this place and order knowing you will get fantastic flavors but not necessarily get what you expected.

SO GOOD! Ive been wanting to try this place and have heard good things. Im so happy I finally ate there. Great location, good atmosphere. We had 4 people in our group and shared the dumplings and lumpia, didnt have time to take pictures of those since they were tasty and went quick. My favorite were the dumplings so much flavor. I split the rook burger and dan dan noodles. The rook burger was well cooked and creamy with the egg and peanut sauce, definitely my favorite main dish. I was warned the dan dan noodles were spicy and they are, still really good flavor but no way I could have finished on my own and I like spicy things. Overall Ill definitely be back and look forward to their changing menu!

Would highly recommend this restaurant. Our sever, Shane, was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful without being overbearing. The restaurant is a nice open kitchen concept with floor to ceiling windows at the front, making for an enjoyable dining experience. I had the Applebum cocktail, which was strong and tasty, and shared with the table the lumpia, Hoosier tenderloin steamed bun, and the fried eggplant steamed bun, which were all incredible. The dumpling melted in my mouth, it was so tender. We also had the Karaage bowl and the Mushroom Dashi, both of which were full of flavor and great for the cold weather. We all loved our food and the service and will certainly be back.

OMG!!! Fabulous lunch at Rook! I have wanted to go to Rook ever since they opened and I finally went there for lunch. All I can say is I cant wait to go back!!!! Great atmosphere, good music, fun clientele and Candice was an outstanding server. She was patient and thoroughly explained the menu and we ordered her favorite recommendations and we were not disappointed. My meal was topped off with a delicious iced Vietnamese coffee with a shot of honey liquor. So good! My new favorite Indy restaurant! To add to a memorable afternoon, we stopped off at the arcade pub next door for a few games of pinball. Perfect Saturday afternoon.

Great service, the ambiance of the place is great but is it the best asian food ive ever had? Not even close! We ordered a ramen dish as well as dandan. The ramen broth was pretty good but the choice of vegitables in it couldve been different (personally id love to throw in mashrooms or bambo shoot or bockchoy) The dan dans flavor profile was good but i had two issues with it. 1. Extremely salty. 2. The spices used are either over used (coz they made my tongue extremely fuzzy) or thats how its supposed to be and in this case then i dont like it! I might come back though. It wasnt horrible. They just need to work on some stuff.

Great Asian street food with a twist. Nice selection of cocktails. Went with a team from work and shared a number of the appetizers which were all great but I particularly liked the beet home fries and the grilled avocado steamed bun. I had the bibimbap for my main which was good but the coconut curry ramen that my colleague had looked even better. I tried a few of their cocktails and particularly enjoyed their take on teh Clover Club which they use Genever instead of gin in. Really tasty. Absolutely check this place out if you are in town!

Adventurous Asian fusion perhaps but more like Asian confusion. Interior is clean & modern, wait staff friendly & attentive. Food is over hyped & overpriced. Hip hop volume a bit loud and didnt blend with the food. Whats with the old tacky plastic Chinese restaurant plateware? Food was fresh and well prepared but just did not work for me. Potential but needs work.

I love Rook. Spicy, savory, and eclectic - - there probably wont be anything here for picky eaters, but thats why I like it. Menu is constantly changing, so something new for every visit. Seating is community style, so be prepared to listen in on your neighbors conversations and they on yours. Rook is a welcome addition to Indianapolis.

Really enjoyed our time here. The food selection is delightful, and its interpretations are definitely in the realm of excitement. The plating makes the food pop, although I would opt for a different set of plates -- while I can understand its playing off the Asian style, the plastic plates does cheapens the experience a tad.

The service was great - the waitress was kind & attentive. The food (pig ears, hand-torn noodles, and coconut curry) was even better - good presentation and full of flavor. And the cocktails were sooooooo good - my La Raza cocktail had the Wu-Tang Clan emblem on top! We will definitely be going back for more.

Weird food... Had the ramen that ended up being $14 for a clump of ramen (wouldnt even separate) with seaweed and a few chopped onions, mushrooms, and a raw egg. You cant tell what the items are on the menu are except things like pig ears or cow cheek. If you try this place, all I can say is... Good luck!

Very good food. Had beet fries and their shrimp curry ramen. Both were great. Especially enjoyed the egg and and shrimp in the ramen. A friend let me try his mushroom dumplings, excellent too. Excited to try more dishes here. Also right next to Tappers, an amazing free Barcade. Great combo.

I tried what I was told was their most popular sandwich offering, "the raven" along with the beet home fries. To put it nicely: I did not care for either dish. I ended up leaving my food and eating lunch elsewhere.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Indy. Good for small plates, entrees, desserts, groups, dates, or solo dining. They have both a top 10 chef and bartender in the state, you literally can NOT go wrong here.
