It has been several yeas since I have visited a Smokey Bones. So when it was decided that BBQ was in order it was official that this was the place we were gonna dine at. We arrived around 8:30pm on a Friday night. Since most of any evening dinner rush was pretty much over (and the fact that I got front row parking right next to the door) we were seated right away. The hostess was less than friendly and appeared to be bothered to actually seat us. She originally started us at a regular table but when we asked for a booth she sighed and took us to the back corner. She didnt tell us anything, just sat the menus down and walked away. Turns out that by asking for a booth we were placed in a section that had just been sat. So it took our server a while to get over to us. She did stop by and tell us it would be a minute...which was appreciated. The long wait allowed us to make all the necessary selections on what we wanted to eat. When she came back we placed our drink and appetizer order. She brought our drinks back right away but then disappeared for quite some time. When she did come back she asked if we wanted to place our order or wait until the appetizer came out. We opted to place our order. I went with the pulled pork and chicken tenders with onion rings and baked beans. My other half went with the pulled pork and the brisket with onion rings and loaded mashed potatoes. Pretty much after we ordered the fried pickles came out. They were good, but seeing that just a few days ago we had some from Bubba 33s they just didnt stand out like theirs do. BUT they were still good. A little while later our main meal came out. The pulled pork was done right, and the chicken tenders were juicy...but I didnt care for the breading. The onion rings were perfect, and the baked beans had a little kick to them. My other half said the brisket was good and said it wasnt tough like other places. Overall the food was good and I was impressed...ok...that is a lie. The food was ok, but I have had better. The "sweet" sauce wasnt very sweet at all. It had more kick to it than other places with a "mild" sauce. We did go with dessert as well...the donuts. They were good and came with raspberry and chocolate dipping sauce. All in all I would probably go back again, but probably because they are open late and it gives another option if I dont feel like cooking after getting home from work at 10pm.

Tonight was GNO (Girls Night Out). Four of us met in Greenwood for dinner. We were greeted nicely by the young man at the door and then again by Tyler, our server for the evening. Drinks were brought out promptly, as was the silverware and the coasters. Our orders were taken and delivered faster than any other time when we ate at Smokey Bones either here or in the closed store in Avon. Drinks and orders were served to the proper people. No fumbling. I ordered pulled pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, and baked beans. The plates each had a decoration on the side of a dark green leaf with shredded carrots and I assume purple cabbage. Pretty. For dessert I ordered doughnuts. Dont remember them being on the menu in the past. Tasty bits with raspberry or chocolate dipping sauce. They were served in a lined bag with the suggestion that we shake the bag before eating the doughnut so that the cinnamon sugar coated them properly. All in all a pleasant meal made more so by our server, Tyler, who was attentive without being annoying. And being correct with each item he served. He was polite and paced the meal well. He was clean & dressed neatly, plus he was attractive (which doesnt hurt when serving four old women). It was a relaxing evening with good friends, a reasonably priced meal, and attentive service. Well be back. If there was any concern it was the music. We remark about that in most places we dine. It is always too loud. PS The restrooms were clean and products were ample.

I am a regular there and I did a pick two meal, which I picked pulled pork and grilled chicken breast. I received my meal my waiter was Great. Told him that the meal I ordered that the pulled pork was really small portion and I usually get more its usually a good sized portion. He got the manager which was Renee and she comes over and says well. I talked to the cook and he measured it out right and she was really not a nice person about it. I told her that I am a regular there and it is usually a good sized portion she says well when you order it by itself its more I said I have had both and know that. She proceeds to argue with me instead of resolving the issue. So I called to talk to someone else there which was Sara she said she could not help me So I asked for the district manager she said she doesnt know the number. I am really disappointed in the managers they have. And still plan on finding and calling the district manager.

This place flat out sucks!! I have tried to like this place....the place is very inviting looking. The atmosphere inside is very nice. If you like a cabin feel with a huge bar...you will like the vibe. The food is however very sorry every time I have been there....its too bad...but its true. The ribs, terrible and full of fat. The pulled pork, dry and lots of fat...Oh and 2 out of 3 times I have been there...they are out of brisket at dinner time....thats really bad for a bbq joint thats open til 2AM and is called ..Smokey Bones! The real deal is that its a huge bar with lots of flat screens...several of which need replacing due to horrible pictures! There isnt many places around here that have real bbq. I highly suggest ...Hickory Hills BBQ on US 31 in Edinburgh, Indiana...this guy knows BBQ!!!!!!!!

The first few times I went here I had a pretty good experience but it slowly got worse every time thereafter. We live in the apartments right behind the restaurant so we get a lot of "to-go" meals. They NEVER get my steak right! We had to send it back 3 times once. Two other times they still cooked it wrong and it had to be sent back. Another time..... my husband ordered a drink they didnt apparantly know how to make. It tasted awful! The manager said he would make him a new one and then he never came back. The waitress took forever to take my order. They brought the salad out literally two minutes before the food. Awful service.... The only good thing about it is the rewards card. I recommend not getting steak if you go there.

This manager at this location has the worst customer service skills! We went after the dinner rush on a night when a poker tournament was taking place. The poker players were downright rude, smoking right next to the front doors, which posed a problem for a severely asthmatic patron. She started having an asthma attack while trying to leave the restaurant after her meal. The manager refused to make the smoking poker players move (the law states they must be 10 feet from the door), citing concerns over them being angry over the patron who could not breathe. Another patron had to make these guys move and get help for the woman who was having an asthma attack. The manager could have cared less. We will never eat here again.
